Had an amazing dinner with my husband last night at Bar Serra. I've wanted to try this restaurant in Tulsa but didn't get the chance. I'm happy it's right here in OKC now! We shared the hanger steak with arugula salad and the Mediterranean bowl with blackened chicken. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We were so impressed by the meats and how tender they tasted. The salad was light and satisfying. The Mediterranean bowl ingredients included quinoa, hummus, cabbage, cucumber, tzatziki, and feta - felt very nourishing and nutrient-dense! We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and can't wait to be back! We also tried a couple of their cocktails. I got the tequila mezcal drink and my husband got the rosemary gin. Both drinks were made well, strong, just like we like them. No complaints. Excellent service and environment! We were lucky parking was easy- we parked across the street by Fassler Hall. read more

Date night last Thursday and we decided on Bar Serra. I don't know what was going on but it difficult to find a parking space. Ended up parking on 12th East of Hudson. Bar Serra is a modern venue. The Building is less than a year old and is located at the NE corner of the Phillips Murrah building on 10th street in Mid-town. We started with drinks and fried artichoke hearts. I ordered a Walnut Old Fashion. The ingredients in addition to the normal, included walnut liqueur and fig syrup. It was good and I enjoyed it. Jan ordered a gin and tonic. We ordered the fried artichoke hearts as an appitizer. They were very good. We both ordered fish taccos for our main. They were made with beer battered Mahi Mahi, chipolte sauce, spicy avacado salsa, and served with home made tortia chips. They were good. It's a cool venue with outside dining option. The vibe Thursday at 6 was flat. The service was average. read more

Came here for my friend's birthday lunch gathering. The atmosphere has a modern greenhouse feel, like another Yelper mentioned, and I agree. When we came for lunch, it wasn't busy--just another 2-top and our party. Our server was super attentive and made sure to accommodate all our needs, so no complaints about the environment or service--super clean and exceptional service. You can also bring your own cake, and there's no extra charge. They even provided cutlery and small plates. The food, on the other hand, is fresh. My husband and I both ordered the Mediterranean bowl with chicken, and it was beautifully presented. However, it lacked acidity and salt--my bowl was extremely bland, and I honestly didn't think it tasted good. I wished there were some condiments on the table. My husband thought it lacked flavor as well, but agreed the ingredients were fresh. Another friend who also ordered the same dish suggested maybe adding Kalamata olives for more complexity, since the dish was very one-note. This is all just constructive, of course. I'd suggest maybe pickling the purple cabbage and cucumbers in the dish and adding Kalamata olives for more complexity. It would also make the dish more gut-friendly, especially since the place gives off health-food vibes--or at least the Mediterranean bowl did. We also ordered the whipped ricotta as an app, and same thing--it was bland. Overall, I'm not interested in coming back on my own, but I would if a friend wanted to. Next time, I'd get the chimichurri steak dish. I give this place 4-stars for cleanliness, presentation, exceptional service, and fair prices. But the food was just meh. read more

I would go back just for the whipped ricotta and wisteria mocktail ! Everything was pretty good. The fish tacos weren't my favorite I've ever had and a tad bit dry. Over all the place was aesthetically pleasing, the service was attentive, and the food was flavorful! We got the whipped ricotta and lamb meatballs to start off. The whipped ricotta could have been a meal in itself. Super creamy with the flavor complimented well by the pistou sauce. The meatballs were very large in size and flavored very well. They definitely needed the sauce because the meat itself was a bit dry. My hanger steak was delicious! Cooked to perfection and so tender. I loved the chimichurri and arugula salad that accompanied it to cut the richness of the meat. I forgot the name of the drink I ordered but it was STRONG! I've been meaning to try this place, though the menu initially didn't grab my attention. The space has a greenhouse-inspired look, but since we sat in the back, it didn't have much of a vibe. Service was a standout--Reginald was attentive and incredibly observant, even noticing I'm left-handed and placing my knife accordingly. Even other staff checked on us. Cocktails were great but the caveat is that they were well drinks. I had the hanger steak; very flavorful, cooked to my liking, and reasonably priced for the portion. I'm obsessed with this place! I literally try not to go here too much for fear that I will get used to it and I won't feel the same. The chicken Caesar salad is so good but the Hanger steak is even better and I won't shut up about it! I've literally been telling everyone I know how great this place is. The service is great, the atmosphere is gorgeous and it hasn't gotten too popular yet to where it's so busy that you can never get a seat. Been craving artichokes and had seen some reviews speaking highly of them so I wanted to try them and they did not disappoint. They look like drumsticks, crispy and flavorful with a side of remoulade. Came in on a Saturday evening and immediately sat at the bar. My partner and I ordered a few cocktails, an extra dirty martini and one of their seasonal cocktail smoke, spice and everything nice was fire. My girlfriend and I went here specifically to try the $10 lunch that some restaurants in midtown do on a reoccurring basis. Since it was just 2 of us we opted to sit at the bar. The restaurant filled quickly though. The bartender made us fantastic drinks. Mine was the espresso martini. For lunch, we both did the fish tacos. The fish was lightly batter and very tasty. The first time I went I tried mocktail and the chicken Caesar salad. The mocktail was delicious! The Caesar dressing was a little salty but the salad was good. I also tried the rosemary gin and tonic, I loved the rosemary syrup in this. The chimichurri steak was amazing, cooked perfectly and the salad paired very well. I loved the dressing on the salad. While visiting from Ohio, my son took me to this place. We love McNellie's and he had been wanting to visit. Oh my! What a wonderful experience we had! Walked in and was greeted by every employee we passed while heading to our table. Vibrant atmosphere. We ordered the whipped ricotta, which was so rich and creamy and the chicken tikka meatballs which were in a light sauce and delightful. We shared an entree of fish tacos which were Mahi Mahi with Chipotle crema, spicy avocado tomatillo salsa and tortilla chips onthe side. The Mahi Mahi was perfect and the taco was quite spicy. I wish they would have had a special dipping sauce or aioli to go with it rather than just asking if we wanted ketchup or ranch. I had the fish tacos. The breading got a little soggy with the salsa on top, but other than that they were good. Came with chips and salsa which good as well. I had a seasonal drink with prosecco, gin, limoncello, and cranberry juice. It was not good at all, so strong but in the worst possible way. Service was good and I liked that you could pay at the table and split the check. Atmosphere is very cute and photo worthy.
