we went for their stand up comedy night as a large group of union educators in town for a conference. The plates and drinks were great! The comedians were homegrown, with a Wisconsin as the headliner! It was a good laugh to end a long day! Nick and Liz were gracious hosts of the show. This was our second visit to this (bigger than it appears from outside) establishment. Last time, we got caught up in the gift shop and never stopped for any wine on our way out. WHAT A MISTAKE! Wow! So, we sat down Saturday afternoon at the little bar (which has purse hooks, by the way) and enjoyed a nice Cab and struck up a conversation with another patron who was visiting from Alaska. A few glasses later, and with a Christmas present for a friend in hand from the gift shop) we started out to meander along the riverwalk. We got as far as the last table on the patio before we sat down to have a smoke. After a time, the owner popped out to check on us and ask if we wanted more wine. We did. We went back inside and spent another hour enjoying the wine and a charcuterie board. We had a lot of nice conversations with the staff, and, quite frankly, we have a new favorite stop when in Bricktown. We left the 2nd time with a bottle of Cab. When we first arrived, there were two large groups seated among the tables and only a few "stragglers." Only three of us were at the actual bar. By the time we left, the entire place was humming. The flaw, there are 7 dry options and 7 sweet options, thus 8 dries means a repeat. Furthermore, the try them all for $20, means 14 options & a souvenir glass (sells for $5) Anywho, the gal working was knowledgeable and friendly. This place is cute and tries hard, but that can't overcome really bad wine. The menu is divided between dry on the left and sweet on the right. Let me start off by saying that the sweet on the right are just undrinkable. The dry wines on the left side of the menu were better, but certainly not up to any respectable standards. They were like low quality house wines at best. The group I was with has done probably a dozen wine samplings together, and my wife and I have done probably 50, and the wines here were the lowest quality we have tasted. Service levels were also very low. We had a reservation for our group of 10 to ensure we would get good service. Instead the person handling us kept disappearing for extended periods of time. He also could not seem to keep track of what was what. I can't suggest anyone with any palate for wine visit here. read more

I have gone to this winery off and on for years. I live in Tulsa but whenever I'm in Oklahoma City I always try to pop in. The wines are generally a lot sweeter like most Oklahoma wines but these are actually good. My husband and I were there for an impromptu evening and while we waited for our table at Bourbon Street we went up and did it tasting of 8 wines for $8. Our server was really nice and didn't rush us and the pours were a nice size. I like that they serve cheese plates now. We only didn't get one because we had dinner reservations after that. As a sweet wine drinker, I know better than to allow my experience of this fabulous wine shoppe to be dictated by my encounters with the dry wines, so I'm going to do one better than my fellow patrons and not allow that to happen. I knew that I do not drink dry wine going in, but I did not let that stop me from tasting the full menu as I feel taste is ever evolving... Headline: I still do not drink dry wine. That said, the staff still made even this portion of the menu thoroughly enjoyable. I learned humbling lessons about wine pairings and a couple of things about the more unique names on the menu; regardless of taste preferences, we had an absolute blast tasting the dry wines. Too, I feel this enhanced my experience with the sweets. To keep it short and sweet (but mainly sweet): not one bad wine was on the sweet wine menu. Not one. Where the drys gradually improved (ie, gradually became sweeter) these wines were all delectable for their own unique reasons, this causing pure chaos and panic as we ranked our favorites. Family owned (Andrea and John) at this location for 10 years. We stopped in based on Yelp reviews. Stopped at the tasing bar and had the option of "3 tastes for free", "7 tastes for $7", or "15 for 15 and a glass to take home". I had the "7 for $7" and landed on a glass of Skirt Alert, a nice crisp white Sauvignon Blanc. They buy their grapes and concentrates and John makes the wine. After 10 years I'd say he has it down. All the wine is made there and they have a variety of dry whites, dry reds, and sweet wines. I'm not a fan of sweet wines but tried them anyway and everything I tried was good. The wine was fruity, dry when noted, and good depth of flavor, especially for a small winery. They offer cheese plates and there is a gift shop as well. They have so upped their game since the last time I've been in here. They have expanded put and even made their bar area bigger. And they've even expanded their wine list. They give samples of 3 for free, 8 for $8, and there entire list for $20 (14 1-ounce pours / aka get an Uber.) I started with "The Bricktown" which is forward fruit with silky tannins and smoooth. Absolutely nice. The final taste I had was a Cab Sav called the "Thunderhead." (Do you notice the Oklahoman names?) It is black currant and cherry without being too full or too sweet. It's extremely balanced and almost a plump fruit without being heavy. I tried the "Outlaw" which is a jammy plum with an earthy aftertaste. It's full-bodied without being over the top. I had my rehearsal dinner for my wedding at Put a Cork In It and I can't rave enough about the experience! 1.) I fell in love with Put a Cork In It 4 years ago when I moved here. It's the perfect intimidate place to take out of town guests before supper or to meet friends and coworkers! The gift shop also has a piece or two I can't help but grab each time I'm there. 2.) Andrea and John were AMAZING to work with. I had a vision for the place and Andrea made it happen. We chatted two or three times before the event to talk logistics, but I brought the family in the day before my dinner to pick out all the wines and beer we wanted, set up the tables, and let Andrea know the final details on decorations and food. When I got to the venue after the team was done setting up, I was blown away! 3.) The food was set up in the entry way and corner and we had 67 guests! The bartender was at a cart at the entrance and made for the perfect flow of food and drink lines. Andrea really knows how to make the space work. What a gem. We stumbled upon this quaint winery during a recent walk along Bricktown's canal around 7pm on a winter evening. They were open until 10pm on the Friday we arrived. We nestled into a two person table and each did a $7 for 7 tastes and split a half plate of cheese (which included 3 cheeses, with crackers, almonds, dried cranberries and Hershey's chocolate squares). We couldn't have asked for a more relaxed and laid back place. Our server was super friendly and very nice; she navigated the multiple tables she was serving really well. I've never done a wine tasting at an individual table with seats (mostly it's been at a wine bar or tables without seats). They really don't seem to mind if you nestle in and take your time with the experience. There were 3 white and 3 red wines to taste on the "dry" side and 8 sweet wines. Our favorite was their Malbec. I was very excited to host a business event here. Cute atmosphere, responsive to emails & calls prior to the event. When we arrived it took a while to find someone working to show us our table. Came here with a group of ladies at the end of a pharmacy conference, and we had a delightful time! There was 7 of us, so space was a little tricky, but we wound up all sitting at the tasting "bar," right in front of where the servers pour the wine. Our server was SO kind, as was the other worker who was helping out a little bit too. She genuinely wanted to get to know us and wanted us to have the best of experiences, which made the night so much more fun. We ordered 2 full cheese plates for the 7 of us, which was plenty to feed us all. I enjoyed the selections, particularly the merlot cheese and the gouda - I would only recommend possibly including a few more Italian cheeses like provolone, fontanella, or Asiago, and possibly a variety of crackers and breads. For wine, I started off with the $7 for 7 tasting, but then was having so much fun that I escalated to the whole list for $15, which included a complimentary wine glass to take home. The wines were quite good - my favorites were the Bricktown pinot noir and the Red Dirt Road. I'm not the hugest fan of overly sweet wine, and although sweet wines are definitely their specialty, I didn't feel like they were too sweet to enjoy - however, would have liked to have a few more "classic" wines, like a pinot grigio and Cabernet on the menu. The Delightfully Delicious was a fan favorite in my group, and I could definitely see myself drinking this poolside. Our waitress also let us try 2 off-menu wines, one a blueberry and one a key lime - another perk of making friends with the server :) Everyone was so patient with us, as we stayed for quite some time, and so kind and welcoming.
