We were there for dinner last night and didn't enjoy our experience. The tacos were overpriced for what you get--small portions that aren't even shareable. Even though our server said the dishes were meant for sharing. One of the big drawbacks was the lack of clarity around spice levels. The menu didn't indicate if the dishes would be spicy, so I was in a bit of a surprise when I ate my steak tacos. For the elotes, they were very tangy and were very overpriced for what it is. We were ordering that to go with the tacos since they don't come with a side. And the elotes came out before for our tacos which we waited for because we didn't want to eat it on its own. So it was frustrating. We did enjoy the karaage-crispy and flavorful. The aioli was on the tangy side though. Cocktails were probably the highlight of the meal. Reasonably priced, generous portion compared to the food. Overall, while I appreciate the effort to bring some bold flavors to the table, I don't think we will be returning. What a wonderful addition to OKC's already impressive lineup of great restaurants. The place is lively but conversation at our table was just fine, even though we were seated near the door. We had a great group of servers taking care of us led by Lexi. Sometimes the service at new restaurants is challenging but not here. We received fantastic service from the moment we were greeted at the door. The menu is littered with unfamiliar terms and ingredients that you may want to Google beforehand. My husband and I did this before our visit and really had fun learning new names and techniques. It made our visit even better and we were very excited to try new dishes. We were a foursome and treated the menu more like a tapas, sharing bites among friends. This allowed us the opportunity to sample many more dishes than usual. We started with a simple chips and guacamole, which was clearly fresh and made in-house. Next time we'll definitely start with the salsa trio as it sounds equally delicious. Next we ordered the White Bean Purée. The addition of the short ribs makes this a dish not to overlook. We also had the Karaage which is a Japanese style fried chicken. It's not something I'd imagine seeing on a Latin restaurant menu but boy am I glad it is. You can't go wrong with it. You order sides for the table so we chose Elote (Mexican style corn) and Papas Verde (potatoes with verde sauce), as well as a Romaine salad. I didn't get a picture of the salad until it had been dished out so my apologies for the incomplete photo. My husband and I ordered tacos, the Suadero (brisket) for me and the Skirt Steak for him. Both were loaded with flavor but not spicy hot if that's your concern. Our friends ordered the Smoked Half Chicken to share between them. I had a taste and it was terrific, juicy and flavorful. In spite of the mountain of food we'd enjoyed, we couldn't resist dessert, two of them actually. The Banana Bread came with a peanut butter mousse and these delicious cookie and coconut crumbles. The bread was moist and delicious but that mousse was simply fantastic. I've never had anything like it and would buy it by the jar if I could. The Concha is another delightfully unique dish. They take strawberry ice cream, coat it with cornflakes and deep fry it. It turns out looking like a fried chicken breast. They use a Mexican style sweet bread for the buns and deliver it with a knife stuck into the "sandwich" as you'd expect with the real thing. I couldn't try it due to a food allergy but my three tablemates devoured it in short order. If you have a sweet tooth Vecina has the answer for that. I'm very impressed with the food and the wonderful service. It's a fun place and we can't wait to go back soon. read more

Met my best friend for brunch. We wanted to try something new. The location was one I was familiar with and I was surprised the decor didn't look chainish. The bartender Hector was our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and he placed an appetizer and drink ordered while I waited. Once my friend got there she placed a drink and app order as well and it was brought quickly. The chicken was good, the corn was spicy. The shaved Brussels were unexpected in their flavor but would work great with salmon. The beef was the best dish. Came in for date night at 730p was able to get seated quick. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable helping us what to order for our first time. Ordered karage which was super tender and pairs very nicely with sauce. Pork belly taco was flavorful and love the peanuts thats on it which gave it the crunchy taste. Mussel was delicious and was a big portion. Rib eye was good with the chimichurri which was a bit spicy. Overall I got full towards the end. Will definitely come back and try other things read more

A pretty sweet Latin restaurant with an interior environment that is baller AF and with excellent cuisine - more on the gourmet side with lesser portions however. Service also top-notch. Got the elote corn off the cob and salmon tacos, which were great. Wanted to try the hiramasa collar but they were out. First off-there were 6 of us and they sat us at a booth but the booths are so deep the servers can't reach you and they have to pass your food or drink down so every person touches it. You also can't reach any shareable dishes. They need a better design. Second-food was ok at best. Several items were spicy which I was not expecting but all portions were small. Surprise a place like this was open for lunch especially with the presentation of the dishes. Let me just say everything was wonderful from start to finish. It was empty when we came here except for maybe 2 other couples at the bar. Bar tender waited on us and he was amazing. He explain the menu the concept of the place Chef James Fox who founded the place very eloquently and beautifully. He went over the menu with us and explained how each dish was made and the taste it will offer us. I was so impressed with his service alone( and he made a great old fashioned) the food was amazing from the appetizer to our main dish I rate it 10/10. Moist and rich flavors that ties each bite into each other. I'm not really a dessert person but I tried the whipped peanut butter with the cake and oh my it was delicious. 10/10 I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food is top notch --the only thing I would suggest is on the pork belly tacos perhaps add a little spice to it. Thought we'd try this place out on a Monday evening zero cars in the parking lot so the conversation was "do we even go in, how bad can it be and why is there nobody in there? " They opened in January and it was Monday. I think that's the reason because the food was very very good Vecina means neighborhood And that's the theme not a super involved menu prices are the higher end of medium we shared tacos. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I'm honestly very disappointed with the experience I had at this restaurant. I have not had bad service like this in a very long time. It was basically chaos, which is surprising because the restaurant was not busy. Our server forgot multiple items that were ordered, and when asked about them stated the kitchen was working on them. But as a person who has worked in the server industry, that is lingo for "forgot to ring that in". The food did not blow my mind, what so ever. It's considered a family style menu, meaning you can share with the table. Portions were not shareable at all. I can not say this enough but the service was so bad, I'm still shocked. Amazing dinner! We love Vecina when it opened in Scottsdale and it did not disappoint in OKC. All the food we had was amazing. They have a gluten-free menu which was really helpful and had a lot of options that were gluten-free. I'm a Celiac and have never had any issues with their food. The service was very good. We went to their soft opening and they were still working through the allergy piece of it but quickly got things figured out. The atmosphere is wonderful and feels like a classy date night location. Overall expense for the meal did not equal the quality of the meal. You do not get complimentary salsa. They offer a salsa trio for $13 with pretty good flavors. They do have Guacamole for $17 on the menu which was a basic guac. They do not have queso on the menu. We ordered the pork belly tacos & carne asada tacos. Two tacos on each order. The pork tacos come with a peanut jam which that's about all I could taste. I was not impressed. The carne asada tacos were pretty good but expect some heat. Drinks were good & priced about what you would expect. The atmosphere was nice & the service was pretty good. Your expectations are for a high end Latin restaurant but it just didn't deliver for us. Once we were seated it took 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order and didn't seem to worried about really anything. It wasn't busy and you could even see the cook staff from the kitchen waiting for him to take orders. As brought up in prior comments serving size is small and not shareable as the waiter described. There are no sides, what you order is what you get with no option to add sides. I had what I would call street tacos with one piece of marinated beef. After our meal we did order dessert and got two because the food portions were so small. The desserts came out and were a generous portion, so they could have been shared.
