Date night at Juniors. Juniors is a throwback to another era. Junior's is a classic supper club that opened in 1973. The history of the restaurant is provided inside the menu. The interior features a lush red aesthetic, chandeliers, dark wood, etched glass, and a sunken piano bar with live music on select nights. It's a neat venue, but on the downside the bar is enclosed, allows smoking and the smoke capture is not 100%. The smoke is noticeable when entering the restrauant, but it's not bothersome or noticeable after seating. We started with a Dirty Martini, Old Fashion, and Shrimp Cocktail. All three were very good. For our entrees Jan wnt with the filet shrimp, baked potato and green beans. I ordered fried shrimp, fries and corn on the cob. Jan's filet was very good, cooked to order, tender and flavorable. My shrimp was good, the fries were good, the corn on the cob was mushy and I couldn't eat it. The service was good. Junior's has been a fixture in OKC for decades and if you haven't been you should give it a try. The service is always amazing and the ambiance is that of a 1970's steakhouse. That's not a critique, it's just what it is. You'll be greeted by a friendly face at the door and shown to your table. I recommend reservations. We started with the nachos and they are outstanding! There are many great appetizers but this has been my favorite over the years. A few of us also got a small Caesar salad. I had the Teriyaki glazed chicken with rice pilaf. It's a wonderful bite but the rice was not as hot as I'd like. My husband got the Chicken Caesar Salad and found it delicious. Several diners chose the Medallions Dianne with various sides. No one uttered a single complaint and there was no room left for dessert which is high praise. My only real complaint is that we were seated next to the door leading into the bar. Smoking is still allowed in the bar and since all alcoholic beverages are made there the swinging door was very active, giving me a blast of smoke filled air far more than I'd like. If cigar or cigarette smoke is an issue for you then ask to be seated away from that swinging bar door. read more

Best surf and turf in town. The filet, you can cut with a fork. Lobster, perfect! This place is a gem. If you like fried chicken, your grandma's will be put to shame. The food, service and ambiance are all quite charming and very "old school" (think 70s Vegas). Separate smoking area (which I use for cigars) is a great thing to have. We celebrated our 50 wedding anniversary there 9/12. My husband made reservations and when we arrived and told her our name she said oh yes I talked to you personally. He had asked that we be seated in bar where live music occurs. Well we're seated in the middle of the room no reserved seats in the restaurant itself NOT THE BAR WITH MUSIC! We order and the escort tasted like hard rubber. The meal was fine but the whole evening was ruined and I'll NEVER BE ABLE TO CELEBRATE THAT DAY AGAIN! I WILL ALWAYS go to the HAMILTON from now on! It's been some time since I've eaten here. However, the last time I ate there the food was great. Good steaks and sides, good fresh salads. I believe you would enjoy this older restaurant. Our party of eight, had 7:30 reservations Friday night. We had memories of good food, service, piano player, and enjoyable atmosphere. What we got was barely any service at all. We were the only ones in our section of the restaurant. Took forever to be waited on. On one came by to check on us after we finally got our food. The Caesar salad, prepared at the table, was disappointing. No flare or fun with that usually special process. it was prepared by a busboy, and was tasteless. The fried chicken livers and the ribeye steak were the only good things to eat. The steak was just warm. Green beans were canned with no seasoning. Baked potato was hard and cold. The pan fried chicken was served cold and not at all crispy. Brandi Ice was the only thing that didn't disappoint. The bar area is sectioned off from the restaurant , but the cigar and cigarette smoke can be smelled in the restaurant area. Can't believe this awful place is still in business. Classic steakhouse that we always loved for special occasions. The past couple of years the service and food has gone down hill. The Caesar salad that was always the best is now nothing special and while the steaks are good they haven't been cooked to order and the lobster has become awful the last two times we ordered it. Really disappointed. You won't know where to park when you arrive. If you take the elevator, you may have to walk the long way back to your car, because the elevator is turned off at a certain time. I thought it would be on the top floor. No. It's in the basement. When you enter, you'll immediately smell cigarette smoke. There's a bar area, and the restaurant. The place is dark and old. No ambiance. No music. Prices are very high. Food was ok. Service was ok, but waiters had tattoos and piercings. They are supposed to wear black, but one bus boy was wearing white shoes. Very disappointed in the band. I was expecting a jazz combo in the restaurant. There was one guy with a guitar and a drum machine in the bar, playing rock and country. We made a reservation for a party of 14. It was my father's 80th birthday and I was looking for a place that would be less busy and quieter than the normal restaurant. First off, the service was horrible and with a party of 14 there was a 20% gratuity added so there was I guess no need to make sure we were taken care of at all. The bar service was great, but our actual waitress was MIA most of the time. Our food was not good. The 8 people in our party who ordered baked potatoes received baked potatoes that were cold and hard. Our waitress didn't bring butter or any fixings for the potatoes for a good five minutes after our food arrived. Making already cold potatoes not even melt butter. I had the filet which was good, but my husband, brother and nephew hat the ribeye that had so much fat and gristle you couldn't even cut it with the dull knife that they provided. My meal should have come with a vegetable and all I had on my plate was a steak and cold mashed potatoes. Our food didn't arrive at the same time. I was half done with my meal before half if the party even had their food. My mother and uncle had iced tea that wasn't refilled one time. Our water was only filled once when I asked the bus boy to fill it for us because the waitress was never around. We never received bread through the entire meal. I asked the bus boy if we had to order it or if it was just automatic. He told me that it was included, but we were never offered any. I had to ask the bus boy about the bread because I never saw the actual waitress to request anything. It was just one of the worst meals I have ever had. And to top that off it was just over $1000 with the 20% tip and bar bill. Just totally unacceptable for a $100 meal much less a $1000 meal. I did not complain at the restaurant because it was my father's birthday, and I didn't want to cause a scene. But I will never be back, and I will make sure anyone I know who considers going there knows they should find another place. read more

This place is literally a hidden gem of OKC. Top notch service, top notch food. There's a small sign on the side of road that tells you where it's at and then once you turn off the road there are signs that guide you when to park. It's literally hidden inside a business building. If your looking for a anniversary place to go or a date night go here. It's business casual dress though. read more

Was invited to have dinner at Junior's and the invitation was billed as "come eat at a restaurant that's been in OKC for over 40 years!". Was surprised I'd never heard of the place being an OKC native until I tried finding it and then realized why. The sign is easy enough to see from NW Expressway, but then you have to go in a below ground parking garage to actually get to the place which I missed the first time around. Once you get inside, you realize that this is not a restaurant experience you get to have every day - the lush red accents and wallpaper make you feel like you've gone back in time to a bygone era. Started off with a spread of appetizers, of which my favorites were the hot shrimp with butter dip and the mini loaf. The nachos and cold shrimp were forgettable. Next was one of their unique trademarks, the Caesar salad that's made fresh tableside. You get to watch the salad get tossed and ingredients added in real time as your mouth waters, and the end result lived up to the hype as it was the best Caesar salad I've had! Has a strong taste of garlic so beware if that's not something you're into. For the main course, went with the Alaskan King Crab Surf and Turf. The crab legs were large and came out cracked already(which is always a plus) and came out with a hot butter sauce for dipping on a creative stand with a candle underneath it. Even with the butter, there wasn't much flavor to the crab meat and it got boring quickly. I haven't eaten much crab so it could just be that this is how crab tastes and maybe its not for me. The 3 oz filet that it came with was also bland and tasteless. Overall, I had a decent experience here but given the mediocre nature of the main course(especially given the price point(!)) I couldn't bring myself to give more than 3 stars. I would definitely come back to get the Caesar salad again and maybe try a different entree to give them another chance. However, regardless of the food, this is probably a place you should check out at least once if you're into OKC history. read more

Why in God's green earth have I never been to Junior's before? I mean, yes it is hidden in a parking garage and the interior is def retro. But if its good, its GOOD!!! The lovely wife and I went around 7 on a Saturday night and there was maybe 3 other tables taken, so immediate seating...yayyyy So, you'll have a bar server and a dinner server which means your service will be excellent!! For starters ill just say, get the freakin grilled shrimp!! Sure their $19 for 6 but who cares this is a date night...these are some big shrimp, maybe not prawn size but close and they serve them with melted butter which they don't even need , they may be in the top 2 of any grilled shrimp I've had ,and since I cant eat fish cause ill swell like a blowfish, I def eat my share of every shellfish I can stuff in my face. These are some epic shrimp !! Anyway, back to reality. For our dinner we shared the surf and turf for $65 which was a lb of king crab that is split just for you and a 4 oz filet. (Bigger filets are available just ask) they do charge $8 to share a plate but you get your own 2 sides with that, so we had quite a selection. For my sides I chose green beans and a baked potato and wife had corn on the cob and mashed potatoes which were all well seasoned and delicious. If you happen to like bread, try the mini loaf that is baked fresh and hot just for you, it smells sooo good and is light and fluffy goodness.. Next up was the ceasar salad with great croutons, not sure why I liked the croutons so much but I did ,not too dense but super crispy/crunchy if that makes sense. Get ready for the entree which they split for us (remember we shared) this was a great filet and perfectly cooked to a medium. And the king crab was better than they looked which was fabulous, we each had our own little pot o melted butter to dip at our leisure...this was a great meal and we look forward to coming here again and probably getting the exact same thing. PS...wife said get a brandy ice or 3..its brandy and ice cream so what could possibly go wrong,,lol Great, attentive service and excellent food..when we left it was definitely busy so reservations may be needed if you want dinner after 7ish . What an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. We were excited to have made reservations for June 15th, 2024. We have always heard great reviews about their food and the fact that this location is full of history was appealing to us. We made reservations for 7 PM which they could not keep, we waited for 45 minutes before being seated and then could not get waited on. We waited for another 40 minutes before being served water, then another 30 before our dinner order was taken. The steaks were just ok, the salad was not edible, and who ever thought that rubbery jumbo shrimp smothered in stringy cheese was a good idea?! Gross! As we looked around, it seemed that the folks who were repeat customers and familiar to the wait staff got served. The rest of us were basically ignored. Won't be going back.....ever. read more

I hadn't been to Juniors in quite a while so we decided to take our daughter in law for her birthday. We sat in the bar because it has so much history and ambience. Even though it's a smoking section, they have huge fans which suck the smoke out. We started with drinks and they made my old-fashioned just exactly like I requested. Next we moved to the Caesar salad that was prepared at the table. Finally we moved into our steaks and followed by the Brandy Ice. We have talked about going to Junior's for a while, but never made it in. Finally decided to give it a try tonight. As you drive under ground the thought of this being a mistake starts to enter your mind. As you walk into the building you notice a nondescript door that leads into the restaurant. Up to this point there is nothing at all remarkable about Junior's. But as soon as you swing the door open and walk in, you enter a time warp. It may be 2020 when you get out of your car, but it is June 1982 when you walk through the door. Penn Square Savings and Loan is still pouring money into oil industry and oilees are spending like there's no tomorrow. The rich red walls and ornate chandeliers leave no question as to the history of wealth and ostentatious behavior. Sitting in the dining room you can catch a whiff of cigar smoke that leaves you thinking about the business tycoons making deals a generation ago. The staff is wonderful and attentive. The Cesar salad made table side is one of the best salads you will ever eat. The steaks are cooked and seasoned to perfection. The loaf of bread at least seems to be fresh baked. And you absolutely must end the experience with a brandy ice that is made by hand daily. It may have taken us a while to try Junior's but we won't make that mistake again. Strangers are made to feel like locals just by being there. Came a second time for dinner and it was basic but good. The music in the bar area was really good and you should tip accordingly. So I was super excited to come here as I've wanted to try it for years! I'm a stay at home mom so dinners out by ourselves a treasure anyways! We walked in around 6 on Friday and got seated right away. The cocktail waitress was great and served us right away! Our waiter took our order and when my husband and I's food came out it was wrong and served with the wrong sides. Our waiter never asked us how our food was or refilled our waters once. We finally had someone else come fill our waters halfway through our meal and asked to speak to someone. The manager who was an older man came by and I mentioned to him we didn't get our sides or the bread that everyone else table had... He just said okay I'll get it out and walked away. No apologies or anything coming back to make sure it was okay... he walked back to the bar sat down and got back on his phone while sipping on his glass of red wine. My salmon was super dry but the potato fries they make are pretty good like chick fil a type good. Overall, I probably won't return here because for a $100 dinner I'd expect better service, our orders right and actually get a water refill when needed and your waiter walk back to take care of a table. read more

I had not been to juniors in over 20 years but we decided to have dinner there for a special occasion. I cannot tell you how very disappointed I was. Number one was the food. We ordered the fillet and lobster. The steaks were not cooked as we a word and two of the poor lobster tails were under done. I found the dining room very crowded in fact I could read the gentleman's birthday card it was sitting at the table next to us. The room was so dark his daughter had do use the flashlight on her cell phone which was then shining in my eyes. Junior's, oh Junior's. Such a hard place to review. This is for the bar. This is a smoking bar. Remember, your clothes will smell like smoke tomorrow (or even later tonight). UGH! For the most part, everyone is 40-80. Tonight being Friday there was two musicians. One played guitar and sang, another older man played trumpet. The singer was excellent, with a huge variety of singing styles. The prices are, well, well they are pricey. I can definitely do better at other bars. Wait, I just broke the prices down in my head and I guess for a bar on Friday night they were average. We had a great time and closed the bar down. read more
