One of my favorite American food restaurants in Oklahoma City. Atmosphere takes me back to when things were cheap and times were easy. Friendly staff who can represent good old down home hospitality. Can't beat the prices anywhere in the city. I loved the Specialty burgers which come on a brioche bun. Excellent meatloaf, great catfish. The sirloin steak dinner is a dish I can't stay away from. Chicken fried steak and chicken has no equal. Don't go anywhere else if you think you're an expert on chicken-fried-anything. Another cool thing about this place is they have karaoke every Tuesday night. Great for those who want to try their vocal talents in front of a small friendly crowd of like-minded people.

So went back today, they took the Philly cheese steak off the menu...I got chili, I think it was from a can, but the salad was good.

The kind of place that knows exactly what it is. The hospitality was exceptional. The host made me feel genuinely welcomed, and my server was knowledgeable, warm, and clearly passionate about the chef and the menu. Not a rehearsed performance, real enthusiasm. That's rare. I ordered the chef's signature: sea bass with black rice. The fish was perfectly executed, delicate, flaky, with a sear that gave the skin just the right amount of texture. The black rice was earthy and dramatic, the ideal counterpoint. Every element on that plate had a reason to be there. Some restaurants impress you. This one made me feel like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Come for the sea bass. You'll be back for everything else. 10/10 -- Return without hesitation.

I got the tomato pasta which ended up being a weird collection of pasta, tomatoes, olives, and edamame that frankly didn't blend well. My fiancee got a strip steak and it was undercooked and tough to chew. The mushrooms, brussels and tiramisu were all good however. Our server was very kind but they seemed understaffed so service was slow. Overall, the food was definitely not worth the price, and I don't think we will return.

I was delighted to find out that our hotel was only 2 miles from this highly acclaimed restaurant. Upon entering, I immediately felt the welcoming atmosphere. We were warmly greeted by the host. The inside is lovely, modern and well laid out. It's perfect for date night or hanging with friends. The host chatted with us, explained the restaurant concept, and answered all my questions. We got the Baked Chèvre for our appetizer. It was layered with flavor and a most delicious and perfect bite for a cold evening. My entree was the Rainbow Trout. The fish had crispy skin and was moist, flaky, and well seasoned. The broad bean mixture served with it was equally delicious. The hubby had Honey Roasted Lavender Chicken which he declared to be one of the best chicken dishes he's ever had. He even raved over the vegetables that came with it. Of course I also had to try dessert. I loved my warm spice cake with a scoop of ice cream and swirls of buttery caramel rum sauce. The cake was so moist and paired perfectly with the sauce and ice cream. Our wait staff was friendly and professional. I forgot to jot down names so I could give them a shout out. Excellent staff is always a part of an excellent dining experience. This was just a delightful experience. The host even gave us the name of some nearby live music venues that we enjoyed later that evening. We will certainly return here the next time we are in OKC. If you are ever in the city, make a reservation and stop by for a fabulous experience.

Made it feel relaxed without being a whole thing about ambiance. I got the giant buttermilk pancake, mostly because it kept coming up whenever I looked the place up. It's genuinely big. Soft through the middle, not too sweet, and the salted butter on top does a lot of the work there. My colleague had the grilled cheese and I tried a bite and honestly considered ordering one myself. The sourdough had good crunch, cheese was properly melty, and the fries were still hot when they showed up, which sounds like a low bar but isn't always. Food came out faster than I expected, which was lucky since we were on a work lunch and didn't have a ton of time.

Just don't go here…read more I've lived here for 5 years and by far the worst restaurant experience I have had in Oklahoma, and if you see my other reviews I'm pretty forgiving and tend to give spots the benefit of the doubt. This is a place worth an absolute flaming of a review.... But they already wasted enough of my time and energy today so I'll just summarize. No management on scene, no hostess, one server, two bartenders and a restaurant at 50% capacity on Mother's Day at 1 p.m. From walking in to having our orders taken, 30 minutes. 45 minutes later our order of roasted vegetable salad, steak eggs Benedict, and sourdough toast arrived. Salad was very well burnt but my mom was trying to be nice and didn't want to walk out. Eggs Benedict came out with two eggs boiled through, a hollandaise sauce with a sour smell and cold steak. I didn't eat it and no one seemed to notice, had it removed from my bill easy enough, but again zero F's given and no management showed daylight. Wife's toast actually arrived 5 minutes after the 'rest' of the food and the only thing hot and delicious. Toast here is $11, so there's that. No one cares here. From the health violations and poor food safety I saw in the kitchen, the multiple tables I witnessed sending back food to the multiple parties puzzled as to why they weren't being sat or once they were entirely ignored... it was so wildly bad I was embarrassed for everyone else having the same experience. Again, don't go.

The bartender was very nice and had great suggestions. I loved that the bar top had license plates from all of the United States as its decor! Im going to be honest, I was expecting a thicker size burger than what I got... but the fried onion burger being a smash burger style burger was still fantastic! It was very juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy as well. The best thing about this place though is the size of their large beers. I love a big beer with a burger! I would definitely come by again if I was in town.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, which set the tone for a great dining experience. We ordered at the counter and were seated while our food was freshly prepared. The burgers? Absolutely delicious! Each one came on a buttery toasted bun with a thick, juicy beef patty cooked to perfection. Topped with melty cheese, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and creamy mayo--it was everything you'd want in a classic burger. The seasoned fries were fresh and flavorful--crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My only wish? That the combo came with a few more fries (they were that good!). While the soda fountain was temporarily out of order, the team quickly made up for it by offering canned sodas, which was a nice touch of customer service. I also recently learned you can customize your burger with extras like a fried egg or even go all out with chili if you're feeling bold. Same goes for the fries--you can deck them out with chili, cheese, peppers, and more! Today was just a simple meal with the family, but we all left full and satisfied. For great burgers, friendly service, and a laid-back vibe, we give The Garage a solid 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!
