Every once in a while, I let my mood dictates my impression of a restaurant. This was one of those times. The night before my visit to Aurora, I did not lose money at the casino and went home early. I woke up at 7 AM the next day and it was raining. This was a perfect setup to go to popular breakfast diners. I walked in, sharply dressed and full of confidence. I truly believe that I got better service because of my outfit. I was looking sharp (dress shirt, chino pants, dress shoes, and my infamous yellow bow tie). I had the Farmer's Combo. I think it was good. As stated earlier, my mood dictated my impression of Aurora on this visit, AND THAT's PERFECTLY OKAY. read more

Very eclectic spot! The staff was dressed up in costume and make-up when we were there. Not sure that's a normal thing or not. The Plaza District were getting ready for a street festival out front the afternoon we were there. They had just dropped a new menu so our table tried some brand new additions: The Tikka Masala Chicken Sandwich and a lemon pasta. For the chicken sandwich, think a Nashville hot but doused in Tikka Masala sauce. This was a messy sandwich to eat (read knife and fork) and while my chicken had good flavor, it was a bit tough. The fries were amazing and get a side of their ranch dressing to go with them. The pasta looked amazing (came with a fried egg on top) and I was told it was good. I would probably try a breakfast item the next time I'm there. I loved the iced coffee "cloud" drink that I got!! read more

This is a beautiful brunch, lunch, and dinner spot in the Plaza. I've been meaning to try it for a long time. Staff were in very fun pride outfits today. The whole restaurant is decorated for pride month. The outdoor patio is nice. They started a new menu today too. The chicken tikka sandwich was good. Messy but tasty. Aurora is a smallish and quint little eatery in OKC, that delivers BIG on customer service and food. Not only are the portions huge, they are incredibly delicious!!!! We had all breakfast, brunch items including their "fork and knife" biscuits and gravy which a wonderful buttermilk biscuit , sausage patty and scrambled egg( what!) smothered in a country gravy and cheddar cheese.. wth. Their side of roasted potatoes and cabbage may sound ... odd, but they are banging. Roasted baby potatoes with sliced purple, cabbage, and onions roasted to crispy perfection. Eggs Benedict Solid!! Made from scratch buttermilk Pancakes, solid!! Coffee, solid! Bloody Marys, rock solid.!!! Best of all, our hostess, Meg, made sure our coffee cups were always filled ensured that all the condiments were on the table. There was plenty of butter, syrup to go round. She made the experience that much better even instructing one of the other employees who we asked to take a picture of our group, where and how to take a picture due to the lighting conditions of the restaurant. Overall, this quaint little restaurant packs more flavor and ambience into its small footprint than any of the other larger chain restaurants and will be returning as soon as we have the opportunity to. We went by for a happy hour drink on a Saturday. Their espresso martini and old fashioned were amazing. The menu looked so good, we came back Sunday morning for brunch. This was my first visit to Aurora in a long while, and I came away impressed. The portions are large and prices are very reasonable. We were seated almost immediately. We could not have been treated better or had any better service. Everyone ordered something a little different, and being a sharing family, we were able to try a bit of everything. I ordered the sarsaparilla pulled pork hash with two over-medium eggs. The eggs were perfectly medium, the pulled pork was tender - it was such a nice little dish. Well, not little. I wasn't able to finish it. It came with a side of a smokey sauce (maybe that was the sarsaparilla?) that I added. It was nice on the pulled pork itself, but I'd be more judicious and not just pour it in the dish. Everyone else's dishes were good too. I will note the biscuits and pancakes were heavy, but still pretty good. I've already told several people about how much we enjoyed it. To find freshly prepared food and great service at a great price is pretty rare these days. read more

I went here on a Saturday morning when they opened at 8 am. Our party of 4 found a table we liked and were served promptly. This place had been on our short list of places to try for a few months, and we're glad that we were patient to line up our schedules so that we could try it together. I ordered my standard measuring stick for breakfast/brunch places: buttermilk pancakes. These were everything I want out of a stack of pancakes. They were served simply with butter and syrup. The texture was fluffy and light. I didn't need to use much syrup because it absorbed so quickly into the pancakes. They were served hot, so I got the pleasure of watching the butter melt almost instantly as I applied it to the middle and lower layers. The others in our group enjoyed their meals. A highlight was the chicken and waffles. We appreciated that they served this dish with bone-in fried chicken. In our opinion, too many restaurants are using chicken tenders instead of bone-in chicken pieces. The waffle was also spot on. The person who ordered it said that he would have liked it cooked more crispy, but he couldn't tell if the waffle simply got softer after sitting under the chicken while it made its way from the kitchen to our table. Our server took great care of us. He had recommendations ready for those of us who asked for them. I visited the restroom during our visit. I was impressed with how warm it is in there. That makes it more pleasant to do whatever it is that you need to do in there when the temperature outside is cold. Looking forward to the next visit to sample more of the menu -- especially that $6 burger during happy hour! read more

(nice perk) Our server greeted us and got our drink order. When he returned, he then took our order. Salmon toast, Breakfast Burrito, Farmer's Combo and BLT. Breakfast Burrito, tasty and huge! Could easily have split it. The Farmer's Combo had all your morning favorites. The BLT was good. The Salmon toast was extremely salty. Almost inedible. Between the salt of the smoked salmon, capers and everything bagel seasoning it was too much. Barely ate one half and left the other. Love the new location and brand new menu! I came here for dinner with my husband and 3 year old son this past Saturday evening around 6 pm. We have been to Aurora when it was in a different space and for brunch, and appreciated that this new location is more spacious. All the food was so delicious and amazing quality. The dinner menu including cocktails is amazing. Service was incredible too - I'm not sure the lack of being busy this evening was a contributing factor (there were only 2 other parties eating when we arrived), but regardless, our server was so attentive to us and friendly. Food: *Turkish Eggs* this was an appetizer we shared and even my toddler enjoyed it. Labneh, baba ganoush topped with radishes, sourdough bread slices, and 2 poached eggs with seasoning. It was the perfect starter and I think our favorite dish of the night. *Honey-Lemon Roasted Chicken* this chicken was so moist and juicy and there was PLENTY of it so I ended up taking this home and made shredded chicken tacos with it the day after. *Mashed Potatoes* served with brown gravy- this was the side I chose with my main dish of chicken and it satisfied my potatoes craving. Made from scratch, so smooth but also had a little texture to it. The gravy was wonderfully seasoned and delicious. *Louisana Red Snapper* this came with tortillas and salsa. My husband ordered this dish and I tried a little bit of the fish and it was absolutely delish! *Junior Breakfast*- I think that's what this dish was called. This dish was on the kids' menu and it came with 1 scrambled egg, a bowl of fruit, a biscuit with a side of butter and a side of strawberry jam. My son loved everything. I tried a bit of the biscuit and jam - and it was so fresh and I can tell this was homemade. We will definitely be coming back here! There is free street parking in front of the restaurant. There weren't super busy so we got a table quickly. The interior is open with warm colors and lots of tables and bench seating. Its cute. There is a coffee and regular bar. The service was excellent. I wasn't a personal fan of the cabbage with the potatoes but my husband liked it. I thought the sourdough toast was excellent. My brunch burger was delicious but what really stood out was the biscuits and gravy, I think it's definitely in my top two and I'm a foodie so that says a lot. We came on a Sunday morning and waited in line on Yelp. The wait was pretty short for a brunch place in OKC which was nice. I got the knife and fork which was biscuits and gravy with scramble eggs, cheese and maple sausage. It was delicious! My boyfriend got the tomato jam biscuit and a pumpkin cream cheesecake pancake. The meat didn't have a lot of flavor, but they put mustard in the biscuit as well and that was a delicious combo. My husband got the French toast. He said they were excellent. A good hardy French toast breakfast. Aurora is deceptively large on the inside. Not sure you could sit a large party easy, but it goes back quite a ways with lots of little table.
