My first time going and I will be going back! I went later on a Saturday Morning and was able to sit at the bar. The bartender was super busy but had excellent service. I got a lavender latte and Migas and they were delicious. I also got their hatch chili Grit cake which I will probably not order again, but it was still good. As someone with dietary restrictions, they had a lot of vegetarian or could be made vegetarian dishes, which I appreciate. It was beautifully decorated and the menu is very curated. We thought we would try this place one more time. When we arrived, there were no customers in the front dining area. There were also no servers or hostess, so we waited a minute or two and someone finally came out. We were seated and our waitress was very kind. I ordered the avocado toast. It was OK. I did enjoy the sautéed spinach on it, but the toast underneath was soggy, and the knife wouldn't cut it very well. My friend ask if the French toast came with any sides and she was told "order it as a combo and you'll get it with bacon and eggs". Perfect that's just what she wanted. Except, the two egg combo is only nine dollars. There was no mention of an up charge. They charged her for the French toast and then added a five dollar up charge, instead of charging her for the two egg combo and then a five dollar up charge to change from pancakes to French toast. So instead of it being a $13 breakfast it ended up being an $18 breakfast. I'm not sure that was done correctly. But most definitely, the weight staff should tell someone if there's going to be an up charge of any sort. In my opinion. read more

Our food arrived and my husband's meal had two visible hairs on his food. My husband and I shared a chicken fried steak and a waffle breakfast with our toddler. The waffle we originally ordered was the bourbon pecan but we were shocked when it showed up with what seemed like a straight shot of bourbon on it. It was so strong and there wasn't any way we could share with our daughter because the waffle was soaked but they completely understood and replaced it with the berry waffle instead for us. With all of the construction going on around Classen Curve, I wasn't certain Classen Grill was even open, but since it was located between two doctor's appointments, we decided to park and try the door around 9:30 a.m. Much to my surprise, even upon walking up and seeing no signs of life, the door opened when I tried it. I saw 2 servers working, albeit no customers. Classen Grill, through different owners, has long since been a favorite breakfast spot for us even though it is a tiny bit out of our orbit and we don't get there often enough. It did not disappoint. Our waitress was friendly and despite the sign that indicated to 'wait to be seated', she called across the room and told us to sit wherever we chose. We settled in and order two mochaccinos. In a few minutes they came out hot, tasty, and comforting. The perfect beginning. My Better-half decided to order just what he wanted, 2 eggs over easy, ham, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, and, of course, their freshly squeezed orange juice. I ordered the Southwest Loaded Biscuit off the menu. In mere minutes our food arrived which was good since we had a time constraint. I don't know how the kitchen got our meals out so quickly, but everything was hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. It is always nice to get hash browns that are hot, crispy, and require no extra seasonings. My meal was very filling; I had to eat past being full since it was so nummy. I was full enough I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day The chorizo gravy was nummy and had the perfect consistency. The al pastor was plentiful and very good. I want everyone to know, despite all of the orange pylons and road closed signs and barriers, Classen Grill is open and ready to serve you a good meal in a comfortable setting with a great waitstaff. This is a true hidden gem in OKC! They are only open for breakfast & lunch but they seem to have a winning combo! My wife & I enjoy Eggs Benedict so we couldn't pass up on this opportunity. She got the Eggs Benedict with Crab Cakes and I got the Classic Eggs Benedict! We swapped a half so we could try both! Not disappointed with either one! We had an excellent server in Roy, a wealth of information on not only the restaurant but food as well! Luckily we arrived when the restaurant only had a handful of customers. Assuming this was because of a weekday and mid morning. Roy was able to share some extra time to answer questions and I must say very intriguing! Came here with some friends for brunch and had an amazing time. Sorry I didn't get more pictures of the drinks and other food because they all looked good. We promptly seated when we got here. It was during the week so not too crowded. The parking is great as it's right on the compound itself. There were beautiful paintings around that were for sale as well that's changed ever so often. Another failed attempt to get into Hatch Early Mood Food in downtown led me to Classen Grill. I love Hatch but the downtown location is a tough location, and this is going to be the last attempt. Classen Grill was closed for renovation but is now operating again. Located on Classen Curve, not the most visible street, but hey it has plenty of parking unlike you know "who." It's a pretty rounded diner overall with great service. The food is pretty good. I had the Chinook Benedicts (salmon) and it was well made, and the salmon taste was the best feature. The only criticism...a little to SALTY! Please take this with a grain of salt as this is very objective. I was happy with my selected side item, the fruits, as they balanced out the Benedict well. Classen Street is my home turf so having another dining option is always a welcoming feature. Classen Grill is worth a try. For breakfast, Cafe Kacao and Cafe Antigua are more suitable for my taste though. read more

This place is awesome and likely the best and most original breakfast & brunch spot in town! Was able to get the Classen Omelette, which was very good, along with one of their blueberry pancakes. What was also very good were their jalapeño corn bread muffins (given complimentary) with honey & butter. Their sides of fruit, street corn and scalloped potatoes were also very good. Beverages were great including their freshly squeezed orange juice (you can see the machine that does it in the main room), apple juice and iced tea. The renovated space is nice and open and looks really good. Now is the perfect time to go because as soon as the construction next door is finished it's gonna be packed. Hubby got the pancake platter with extra bacon and I got the breakfast platter with a jalapeno biscuit with chorizo gravy. I would rate my food a solid 5/5. The Classen potato's taste like something at the state fair. So freaking good. The jalapeno biscuit was delicious. My husband loved all his food and rated it a 4.9/5. Forgive me, I had not returned to Classen Grill since the grand reopening. Dropped in last week for a late breakfast (as in breaking my fast at 1:00 PM). My previous experience was in the company of a group of multi-generational food fanatics who insisted I join them to brunch at the "iconic Classen Grill." I was so grateful. Everything about my newly remodeled CG breakfast was exceptional -- as in fresh and cooked to perfection: two eggs scrambled, hash browns, sourdough toast, fruit cup (in place of meat). It has been several weeks since we ate there. The good thing is that Classen Grill has been totally renovated and looks great outside and inside. We had breakfast. I had the garden hash which was a mixture of vegetables, maybe some meat, and a sauce. The hash was totally overwhelmed by the brussel sprouts taste and the sauce was funky. My wife's pancakes were just ok. Her slice of ham was about half the size we usually get at a restaurant. It might have taken 45 minutes to get the food, and the same amount for most everybody else. This place is amazing. Definitely one of the best breakfast/brunch places around, easily on par with Neighborhood Jam. I have tried several items from the menu and they have all been fantastic. Personal favorites are the Southwest Loaded Biscuit and the Breakfast Taquitos. For sides, the fruit is a very good variety (not just melons with a single grape here!) and the Green Chile Grit Cakes are fabulous, and I have never been a fan of grits! There are a few minor downsides, however. The biggest issue is the parking lot, as it is fairly small and fills up very quickly. The front door is also surprisingly difficult to open, and it can also get very loud inside, but I feel that is to be expected with most restaurants of this caliber. All in all, if you are in the NW Expressway & Classen area, you owe it to yourself to check them out! read more
