Our waitress was amazing. Kept out coffees filled. She was the only server there at the time. The food didn't impress me too much. Bacon was way overcooked and dry. French toast was undercooked and very soggy. It says "served with butter and maple syrup" on the menu. It was margarine. The waitress confirmed it. And the syrup was not real maple, it was a maple flavored syrup. Joy had Bacon eggs country roasted potatoes and biscuit and gravy Again, overcooked bacon, Eggs were cooked well. Hash browns were cooked well but under seasoned. The biscuit was decent but the gravy still had lumps of dry powdered mix. I doubt it was home made, so I won't call it flour. Would I return? Probably not for breakfast. read more

This is an okay little cafe with your traditional things on the menu but sometimes, traditional is what I'm craving especially for breakfast. It's hard to beat a pancake with peanut butter and syrup in my opinion. Their omelettes are huge! Salsa was honestly one of the best things I had so far. read more

first time visiting this cafe and I had a pleasant experience! I came in to read work for class and service was attentive and proactive. The server suggested cheese with the scrambled eggs and I didn't think to ask! Great suggestion tbh, the French toast was good and I would try it again if I go back. The inside was pretty cleanly and tables were neatly set for guests to come in. The server was pretty personable and very kind. That's always a bonus! read more

Went for breakfast here today and must say it was not good. The biscuit was a grands flakey layers biscuit not a buttermilk biscuit and the gravy was watery. The turkey melt didn't even have enough meat to cover the bread and it wasn't toasted very well if at all. Definitely not going to be coming back here. read more

I'm so sad to see this. We came to neighbors at a slow time. The owner/cook has a mask in but around his chin. There is a table that has grown to 12 people and not a single mask. Our waitress refused to wear her's. I asked she said she has cancer (one would think all the more resin to wear one) and she was told not to. I requested she wear it. She begrudgingly complied but within minutes it was around her chin again. I've been coming here for years with my family. I won't be back. If you can't take the health and safety of your guest seriously then it's not worth it. I ended up with a plate of food I couldn't eat and wear my mask because you wouldn't follow the law and wear a mask. It's the LAW for a reason. read more

This place is kind of a little hole in the wall, even though it's at a busy intersection (NW 39th and Macarthur). This is only our second visit here, bbt we are all about supporting local! It's a decent size place for a Mom and Pop joint. I'm surprised it's not actually busier when we drive by. Menu is pretty standard, similar to Jimmy's Egg, but they do have some unique specials and items on the menu like Chicken Fajitas (Wednesdays) and Goulash (Thursdays). It's very homey. Service is quick and very friendly. Totally check this place out. I feel like they deserve more credit than they get on here! Off the beaten path in the Cornerstone center! read more

Our food this morning was exceptionally good! I had a three-egg omelette with gyro (shawarma) meat, chopped tomatoes, diced onions, and julienned green bell peppers. The hubby had some kind of skillet thingy -- very filling, he said. Friendly wait staff. read more

This is an adorable cafe. I've eaten here twice and gotten meals that were reasonably priced. Today I ordered grits, an egg, a biscuit and gravy and coffee and my tab was $7.76. First, they gave great coffee. I actually took it to go. I actually had two cups. Very. Good. Coffee. The grits were perfect and not lumpy. They have brown sugar and were more than willing to bring me the appropriate condiments for the way I eat grits. Grits is an extremely individualized thing to eat. The biscuit and gravy were just alright. This is definitely NOT my favorite biscuits in town. They were hard and crusty and probably homemade and not the way I like them. Lol. The egg was cooked perfectly. The waitress was very nice. read more

Everything a good diner should be. Tasty breakfast and I surely will go back. Staff was super nice

My wife and I have been actively trying to visit as many as OKC's small diners as we can and I can honestly say that after 7 years of being together, we're starting to put a nice dent into our diner list. One of the diners we had yet to visit was Neighbor's Cafe. We arrived to a sparsely populated diner with just enough background noise to be noticed, but not obnoxious. I decided to order their breakfast plate that included three meats of my choice and a side. (Of course you all know I opted for the biscuit and gravy.) The biscuit wasn't thick and doughy and the gravy was seasoned nicely. The bacon was just okay in my opinion... just a little to crisp for my liking. The ham wasn't bad, but I was disappointed in the sausage links. They didn't have that nicely seasoned breakfast sausage taste... almost to the point that they felt a little bit like an afterthought. While Neighbor's Cafe wasn't bad by any means, but not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit again. read more

Neighbor's Cafe is one of those places that you don't think to eat there when someone asks you where you want to eat for breakfast. I was that way until I ate there. I had churizo and eggs with some nice fried potatoes, tortillas and some good ol' hot sauce. I very much enjoyed it. My wife enjoys french toast and gets it at all breakfast places we go and she absolutely loves the french toast here. I had some and I admit that I was impressed. It was delicious. The service was great and coffee was always being refilled for me. They do have some healthy choices as well if you want/need that. Overall I was very satisfied eating here and you will be too. read more

Pretty classic diner, food was good and service was fine, no complaints at all. Generally, it exactly what you would expect from a small classic diner, nothing more and nothing less. It worked great for my party of 2 stopping by for a quick bite while in the area. It seemed like a place where the staff really enjoys getting to know the regulars and the fun casual conversation that goes with it. There were large groups and singles there. If you are in the area and looking for some well cooked comfort food, you can't go wrong with Neighbors. read more

Bad experience all the way around! Our first and only visit , 3 kids 2 Adults ... kids wanted breakfast, two Banana Berry Pancakes 5.99 .. I was okay until they brought out two flat overcooked cakes with three slices of banana on top. No berry's no banana in the mix ???? My husband had a the burger special , charged for cheese didn't get it! Oldest grand daughter had bacon cheeseburger again no cheese. Ordered a breakfast plate to share between two with the cakes..So 2 hamburgers ,two fries, 4 plain overdone cakes, two eggs , hash browns 2 sausage links and a pice of toast was $44.00 bucks . Glad I didn't order myself anything , I would have been even more upset. Waitress very nice, food decent except no cheese no fruit ... price CRAZY. Asked several times about the pancakes.. was told there shift was out of berry's... no berries no 5.99 !!! read more

As we've been eating our way through local diners, Neighbor's Cafe has been on my list to visit. My husband and I went on a Sunday morning about 11 am. There were a few occupied tables but mostly not busy. We had quick, friendly service as we ordered and received our breakfast. I had the corned beef hash with hash browns, eggs and a biscuit with gravy. The biscuit was slightly dry, but the hash was really good. My husband bad the breakfast plate with three meats. The bacon and ham were better than the sausage links. Overall we a good breakfast although some items weren't the best. read more

I go here all the time and it is the best breakfast in OKC! Friendly service and the management is great! I love going here with my friends and family. Honestly, the worst meal I've ever had. Used to be a good place many years ago, but not so much now. I ordered the steak omelette, it was nothing like the description on the menu. Rather than shredded beef, it was basically yesterday's leftover steak. Cubed, hard, tasteless and tough - and no cheese. None. Rather than bring me a new omelette, the waitress (a very nice lady and hard worker) offered to microwave my 1/3 eaten omelette after she had brought me a bowl of cold, shredded fake-cheese (looks to be Velveeta shreds). I'm easy to please, I'll eat anything, this was the exception. I was one of only 2 people in a breakfast cafe at 9am, now I know why. Stay away, just terrible. The only reason it gets a star is because the waitress was so nice. She tried, more than I can say for anyone else at this place. read more

I started my day at Neighbor's Cafe this morning. I'm always confused when I walk in and I'm not greeted by either a human or a sign directing me where to sit or order. This was the case here. The other patrons were looking at me standing there confused and they seemed to be confused that I was so confused. Within a minute though I was greeted and told to sit where I please. I took a back booth and waited patiently with my book till someone took a drink order and then someone else brought a menu. I overheard one of the servers training a new server and she said "We are big on team work here." That was apparent throughout my meal. To me, that's great! Makes for quicker service usually. This wasn't an exception. Neighbors has a definite neighborhood feel with plenty of apparent regulars - as they were greeted by name and asked "the usual?" The servers were all very friendly. I had coffee, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was soft and the gravy was perfectly peppered for my taste, and to my delight it was served on the side, not on the biscuit. My eggs were cooked a little harder than I prefer but, really, not game changer. The hasbrowns were good and the bacon tasty! It was less than $7. That's not bad in my book. I grew up going to breakfast at diners with my daddy and grandpa. This is a place my grandpa would have loved. I will go back for sure. read more

If I could put zero stars I would!!! Dirty cups I mean legit hair on the cups!!!! My bacon was hard as rock, biscuits were old you could hear them In the back putting food in the microwave which is unbelievable that my eggs came out cold! I was nice told the waitress they were cold and you could hear I would assume the owner call me a liar saying those aren't cold! I saw my waitress try to bring me my old food back which again assuming they popped back in the microwave and I said never mind I don't even want anything anymore! What makes it worse is the fact that the owner still made me pay for my food!!!!!! read more

It's noon and why this place isn't packed full is beyond me because it's really good! It's almost hidden in the strip mall across from billy sims and we were very happy with the service, price and taste. The portions were ample (minus the hash, sadly) and the prices were something reflective of a time long passed (when you could get a huge breakfast without paying your whole weeks wage). I enjoyed this nook and I hope you guys check it out! read more

Stopped in for breakfast - finally! Got there after the early rush so it was nice and quiet. The people are very friendly and my breakfast was tasty. The biscuit was a little too moist - perhaps from steam - but had a good flavor. The homefries could have been just a bit crisper with onions but overall tasted good even without gravy! I didnt eat the sausage as it looked too much like Smithfield sausage links which I dont eat. Coffee was HOT! I'm only giving 3 stars because of the sticky booth and table, the lumpy seat and how low below the table surface I was due to the lumpy seat. Not food sticky - sticky from not being scrubbed properly at least once a week. Y'all know what I mean. read more

Very tasty breakfast! Well-priced classic diner food. Friendly staff. Definitely making it a regular weekend spot for us.

Mom and sister had come before and said food was alright so we all came for a different breakfast experience. I have to say, if you are any race other than white, the customers will be sure to make you feel unwelcome. Obviously not the restaurant's fault but just something to note. I got the chicken omelette and everything was alright except for the chicken, tasted almost expired and unseasoned. The biscuit had a bad flour taste and was cold. The hash browns were great but it's kinda hard to mess those up. Mom got eggs, bacon and hash browns, her bacon was pretty crispy and didn't taste like your normal slice of bacon but was alright. The food was kinda inbetween mediocre and bad and our waitress seemed unhappy to be there, they also all wore their masks underneath their chins which completely defeats the purpose of a mask. Overall the place looks like it's going downhill but others seem to have an okay experience. ‍ never know what you're gonna get read more

Great, great place for breakfast. I've dined in once and got carry out once. The omelets were great, awesome biscuits and gravy. But the surprising things is how good their Eggs Benedict are. They nailed cooking the eggs perfectly and the sauce is just awesome. If high end hotels only had food this good. read more

Nice little cafe in OKC which are my preferred places to eat breakfast especially. The place was nice and clean and had a small café feel to it. I had a ham, spinach, and cheese omelet, side of sausage, hash browns and wheat toast. My tablemate had bacon and blueberry/banana pancakes. My omelet was good. The hash browns looked like they had been deep fried which I'm not a fan of but they were crispy as requested. My tablemate said her pancakes were a little dry but once they had syrup and blueberry mix spread over them it was good. The sausage patties were very tasty, and just the way I like them, and the bacon was equally as good. I drink my coffee with honey and I don't know if it was the honey the coffee or the water used to make it but I was not impressed. That's always a favorite part of my breakfast and today I was disappointed. The price for all of that was about $22. And I feel that was reasonable. I will give them another shot later on next time I'm by but as for now three stars is the best I can go. Although you can create your own omelette there is not a part on the menu that states that. And the options they do have just didn't appeal to me. They also only had American cheese instead of a couple options and only white/wheat toast. I understand that small cafes are limited in the amount of options they can present but I feel that a second cheese option and another bread option are usually staples. read more

This place has definitely changed... Used to be a great place, but now the food is lacking. Went in today and noticed everything is at least $2 more and the serving sizes are much smaller. Not the only place that has done this....but the food is garbage. My biscuit wasn't fully cooked and my skillet was mostly salt. It's crap. Idk if new owners or what? ....a moment of silence to the Cafe it used to be.... ...... Just complete trash. Service was alright though, and the food didn't kill me.... So 1 star read more

Just dont. Soo slow, even when empty. Poor service. Subpar food. Just go to Jimmy's Egg.
