I've only had breakfast here so I can't speak to anything else on the menu but this is a solid little hop-in-the-wall joint with great simple, cheap diner-style breakfast. Our server was really nice and for two people we spent less than $30 before tip for our food. This place will likely become one of our new staples for sleepy Sunday, greasy, hangover food.

Wonderful service and delicious food! My family recently moved into the neighborhood and we will defiantly be making this a regular dinner destination!

Thursday nights at Ray's? PERSIAN FOOD! (Yummy!) Be sure to sample the fesenjoon -- it's my personal fave.

Persian Night at Ray's? It's fast becoming a weekly tradition for us. The Fessenjoon, the Ghormeh Sabsi, the Baghali Polo . . . all just make my black little heart sing. Truly. Last night, the very sweet restaurateur brought out complimentary cinnamon tea and little phyllo pastries for those of us who'd had Persian food. (So thoughtful! So unexpected!) Continued praise for Ray's!

Lovely little gem tucked away on NW 50th near Target. Looking for an early morning cheap eat, that wasn't fast food or breakfast, we decided to swing into Target to pick up some soup. You ask.. what in the World does that have to do with Rays.. well I'm getting there.. Target isnt quite opened yet, so we decide to look at the dives around and spotted this little gem. Honestly, I had no idea it was there and have lived in the area for years, but I'm glad we found! We arrived to find open seating, the waitress promptly took our drink order... the food all sounded delicious so it took us a few minutes to order. I ended up getting pork chops with mashed potatoes and my wife a club and French fries. Very delicious! My only qualm is the pork chops were slightly dry, but other than that everything else was on spot. Probably the best French fries i have ever tasted. We also picked up cherry pies for the road.. yum yum! Great waitstaff! Very attentive! Will definitely be back!

I asked the waiter if there was bell peppers in the meatloaf and he said no but there was bell peppers in the meatloaf.

I had taken a week off from my overextended scheduled life in Vegas to come to Oklahoma to visit family. On Sundays, that meant I'd be going to church and having lunch afterward. After a long Episcopalian service, my grandma said she was starving and that she wanted to go to Ray's. I'd never heard of this place and looked it up on Yelp. Yes, they were open. When she pulled up, I was taken aback. It was in a little run down building and was packed. When we got inside, I was the only person, save for a little girl with her grandma, under the age of 65. My grandma ordered a BLT and I ordered the chicken with a side of fruit and okra an order of grits. It was cheap, but not worth the price because the food was meh. "A side of fruit" actually meant canned fruit cocktail. I haven't eaten that since I was in an elementary school cafeteria - suffice to say, that was inedible. The chicken was just a sad little breast that had been served in warm Italian dressing. The okra was the frozen, breaded kind that's more breading than okra. Disappointing. The grits were okay. I probably wouldn't go back here because I wasn't a fan of the food. Visited 7/29/12

The problem was that it took twenty minutes and ordering it three different times to actually get it. This was OKC marathon weekend, and seemed to be approaching college final exams. So the shop was pretty busy with only two working the counter. In fact, it was hard to even find somewhere to sit. Luckily it was just me, so I squeezed in at the corner of a sofa and did some people watching. The shop was cute, quaint, a little bit of a quirky vibe. I could definitely see the appeal for all the college kids doing work on their laptops there. Buuuut. I originally ordered a drink. Something iced, a flavor recommended by the girl who took my order. Sat down and waited. And waited. Lots of drinks were getting churned out, but finally I realized the people who ordered after me were already leaving with their orders. So I went back to the counter to ask. I was told Oh, we'll get it right out. I'm guessing they thought I was still in the queue of drinks to be made. Because I waited some more. Finally asked again with a different barista, and she apologized and admitted they either lost my drink order or gave it to someone else. So she made one fresh and reimbursed me for the cost of the drink. In the end, I have no issues with how they handled it. They were fair and polite. And luckily I wasn't suuuper pressed for time. Still just unfortunate that I waited so long for a cup of coffee that I can barely remember now - but hey, at least it was free.
