This is just ok. Great French fries, but my salad only had lettuce nothing else????? The fried shrimp was excellent. I would get again. Don't eat what they called shrimp sauce. tasted awful! No frills, just home cooked yumminess that soothes some part of my Soul (yes, I have one!). Our friends suggested we eat there, thinking it was their Mediterranean food night, but alas it was not. But I'm not unhappy at all -- Our table of 6 decided upon: 3 X Homemade lasagna with garlic toast, and choice of side, the Spaghetti platter, chicken tenders (w/ fries and okra), and a bacon cheeseburger. Portions were just right! The beef-barley-vegetable soup was stick-to-your-ribs delicious. When it gets COLD, I will want to have a big bowl of that in front of me! So flavorful! I was lucky enough to get a corner piece of the lasagna, so I had some of the cheesy cooked part that just delivered the homemade essence. I could just picture a Mom preparing it in small batches... I will want more lasagna, too. My hubs and I split a side of Mac-n-Cheese. Creamy white cheese sauce over the elbow macaroni, and extra cheddar melted on top. I can see child and adult alike devouring a bowl of gooey-yummy. The staff knows their regulars, which is great to see such devotion from customers. We've been coming for 5yrs and always loved it, but not sure what's happening! Scrambled eggs didn't look or taste normal, they clearly weren't actual eggs! That or they watered them down, also had enough hash browns for about three bites, even the cottage cheese didn't taste normal! We'll go again, but if it turns out this way again we'll find a new spot. read more

It's close to me and they serve breakfast all day. Can't beat that. They have unlimited catfish from 4-8 on Fridays and Saturdays. Staff is nice, can be slow sometimes. Place tends to get busy with random large groups of people coming in. Good prices. read more

You'll be glad you did! Thursday night is Mediterranean night, Friday and Saturday night are all-you-can-eat catfish. They have regular cole slaw which is great. They also have something called Herman's Slaw which is like a cross between cole slaw and sauerkraut which I love and I get it every time I go. The service is really good too! They work hard! We love coming here at least once a week! The owner and staff are friendly and welcoming. Today was the first time we tried breakfast at Ray's and we were not disappointed! As we were paying our check, I noticed a bowl in front of the register filled with little pale golden cookies. Yes, I tried one... oh my goodness!! The little nuggets of gold were incredible, coconut cookies. Not too sweet, bottoms had just the right amount of crunch and the coconut flavor was spot on, not overpowering-perfect! We ate approximately 11:30 am, it's now 7:15 pm and I find myself thinking about those little golden bites of delicious and how I'd love to have more, now!! See ya soon! read more

Pretty much just your typical diner. Full of regulars, cheap prices, and personable staff. This is the sort of joint that I'd imagine Ron Swanson would frequent. You order eggs, they will bring you eggs, nothing more, or less. Bacon=bacon, nothing fancy. Isn't the sort of place to be adventurous. I've ordered the meatloaf, and the prime rib. Not a good idea, but that was my fault. I knew what kind of place this was before I even ordered. The menu is roughly 4-5 pages, full of lunch and dinner specials. Get the dinner pancakes if you visit in the evening time. The service is the type that you would receive in a small country town. The servers call you hun, and if you visit more than 2-3 times a week, then they've pretty much have you pegged. Having your drink ready before you speak your first words. That's the kind of service that I should receive at Belle Isle since I've been going there at least 3 times a week for over 2 years, but the main bartender there is a dick. Ok, I've gotten off topic. Order the Pancakes. Servers are nice. Prices are super low. There's usually no waiting. Don't go out of your way to visit this place, but if you're in the area then you should give Ray's a try. read more

Ray's is a solid diner. I've only had breakfast here, but it's a great value. I've had an omelet, biscuits & gravy and the scrambled eggs are particularly good. There is a mixed crowd, but primarily older people who I assume have been coming here for years. If you're looking for some fast, quality diner food, Ray's will definitely satisfy you. I just can't not give this place five stars. Can't think of one reason not to. Service was fine, place was divey but clean. I saw that one of their lunch specials was a chicken fried steak with two sides for $6.50, so I took the risk of ordering that and was super impressed. The steak was a good size but not super overwhelming, like most. What I most enjoyed about the steak was that it was thin and crispy. I hate overly thick, breading falling off , grease laden steaks. Gravy and taters were good, corn was fluffy and had flavor. You really can't beat the price and quality. read more

We came with a group of 5 and we were met at the door by the waitress who informed us that "It is like 15 minutes until we close and the grill is already shut down" Well if you shut down at 7:30 then why don't you say you close at 7:30 instead of 8? I wanted to like Ray's. The reviews were fantastic. The space warm and inviting in that warn in, no nonsense, comfort sort of way. I would give this place zero stars if I could. It was some of the worst breakfast ever had and the longest wait for breakfast after we ordered. The chicken fried steak was from frozen and tasted like it was cardboard. The biscuits were frozen. The fresh fruit was from canned. The coffee taste like water. The sausage was nasty. The gravy tasted like it was from a package. My pancakes had char from the grill on them. The toast was old and stale. I would not recommend this place to anybody not even my worst enemy. read more

The food was excellent. Our waitress was nice. However, the hours have changed and they are darn serious about having you out of there at 2pm. Running the vacuum while people are eating and asking them to put money out at 2:00 on the dot is a little rude. Not sure what is happening in personal levels, but it is a shame to lose business over 5 or 10 minutes for someone to finish their meal. Really had looked forward to this. Need to update your hours online as well and consider giving customers a little 5 or 10 minute leeway until that happens. read more

I like this place. Great breakfast. Ample portions. GOOOD Bacon. Priced right. Friendly staff. AND it is like several reviewers say " a lot of seniors" I take that to mean people that have been coming there for a long time. That is good. I think the noon specials are priced right with just the right sized serving, mostly comfort food.
