This time, we switched it up and went for lunch... and honestly, it just didn't hit the same. The place still has that classic diner charm--walls packed with memorabilia, a laid-back vibe, and a friendly staff that makes you feel welcome right away. It's one of those local spots that feels like it's been part of the community forever. I ordered the Reuben, hoping it would redeem my recent disappointment with a French Dip in Denver. It wasn't bad... just not what I was hoping for. My preference is a traditional rye bread so I thought this would be a winner. The sandwich was decent, but nothing memorable. Fries were another miss for me, but that one's partly on me--I didn't ask for them well done like I usually do. Now, my wife's meal? That told a different story. She went with the cheeseburger and onion rings--and those onion rings absolutely stole the show. Crispy, golden, and according to our server, made with an in-house batter. If you come here for lunch, do yourself a favor and order those. One thing I still appreciate is the unique menu presentation--it's styled like a newspaper, complete with articles, with the actual menu tucked into the center. A fun touch that adds to the diner experience. Overall, lunch was just okay this time around. If this had been a breakfast visit, I suspect the rating might've been higher--that's where this place has really shined for us in the past. Hadn't been here in quite some time. The food quality has really improved! I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fried squash. Very tasty!!!! My friend had the chicken fried chicken sandwich with fried okra. It was quite tasty too and the chicken was so thick! The wait staff were excellent! The place is decorated with old menus and memobralia on the walls and stained glass hangings from the ceiling. It was also very clean inside! I will definitely be back! read more

First time here. They share part of their menu with the beer place next door. The prices next door are not correct anymore it says that a BLT is 6.50 and it's 7.50 but it's also really confusing about sides. When I walked in there wasn't a soul in here I was the only customer and it's a cute place and has a lot of little kitcy things. Pictures of chickens Etc the atmosphere is cute except there's nobody here. I was trying to get something that wasn't fried and I was told it was okay. But the cook scent the vegetable fried anyway. Now prices. I didn't look at the menu for The BLT because the price at the other place explained it. I also ordered the special meatloaf because I wanted to take it home and give some of it to my pup as well. The BLT was made with the least amount of tomato that you can possibly imagine it's like one small tomato slice cut in half and put on either side of the bread there was actually more bread than there was everything else and it came with fried chips when I specifically said not to give me anything fried. I think their chef must be pretty crabby because I ended up ordering the sides of fried squash, green beans, a salad and a little bit of fruit it was the lesser evil so to speak, but in the end because I got a very small salad I got charged for the salad. You are supposed to get two sides for both things is what I thought but again I should have looked closer. In the end the salad was basically a tiny bit of lettuce with a little bit of tomatoes on it that's it great I also asked whether or not they could just saute the squash but he wasn't going to do that I asked for onions on top of the salad the cook didn't do that. The server was nice, especially within the confines of the restrictions in this place. But Communication in general between the cook and the server and me it was like a game of who's on first. It was pretty busy, and the food is pretty good, but their customer service is horrible! I'm not sure if Bree was having a bad day, but she was very rude. Her personality wasn't pleasant, and my family and I felt very rushed! We spoke to the manager, and he was VERY snarky, and didn't really care to address the issue because they were "so busy." The time is 10:06 in the morning. A cool breeze moves the air after the rain came in the night. I enter the cafe. The cafe is decorated in an amount of roosters/chickens that can only be described as aggressive. The diners mostly appear to have successfully retired or are still in school and the waitress has called me hun no fewer than 4 times. We had exchanged maybe 5 sentences. I am happy. I have ordered the Chicken and Waffles. I have asked them to make is spicy. Now I wait. Luckily there are activities in the menu, which appears to change monthly. Sandwiched in between August's Crossword and an Easy Sudoku is a box that encourages you to "Try Pete Reeser's Special" which is Two hard boiled eggs, a Side of Fruid, and a Side of Mayonnaise. That special is $6.00 of American money. The time is 10:19. My food has arrived. It looks delicious. My partner's Breakfast Burrito looks extremely like a burrito. The chicken strips tossed in a sriracha honey are what I will politely call "Oklahoma Spicy" (2/10 if you like spicy and if you think pepper is spicy it's a 10/10) and that's not bad. The syrup isn't too thick and the butter is creamy. The eating experience was slightly better than acceptable. The burrito also tasted like a burrito but the salsa may be the surprise of the meal as it was nice and lite and added some freshness to the burrito. Apparently ATC is a classic Edmond breakfast spot and I'm just now learning about it? I can't believe I haven't been to this place until recently. It's great! Charming diner with lots of busy chicken decor on the walls, reasonable prices, and interesting menu style in the form of a newspaper. Extremely friendly service - everyone is always smiling, even at the crack of dawn I'm sure. I've tried the scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy and the fluffiest pancakes in the world. My husband and I have been attending this dinner for years! Before we got married and engaged, so some of the staff that has been around during that time have gotten to see all of our milestones. Waited almost an hour for a senior breakfast and tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich. Ordered extra extra crispy bacon and got flimsy bacon. Asked for biscuit to tie us over after about 40 min and it was cold. Service was good. Ambiance was good. We were told to sit anywhere we liked when we walked in. As soon as we sat down some rude guy came by and barked out "we're not open seating, you can't just sit wherever you want". Turns out it was the host/greeter who wasn't at the front where he should've been. After we pointed out who told us to sit anywhere he went to her to see if we were lying lol. The whole time we were there he was walking around eating bacon and playing on his phone. And we heard our server tell some people who walked in after us to sit wherever they wanted...Maybe they could hire a host who actually knows what he/she is doing and is a bit nicer and more professional. Old timey, classic diner, with hard working staff who serves up good food and great fresh squeezed OJ. All these years I've been living so close to this classic Americana diner and I've never been. You better believe, I'll be back soon! The omelettes were delicious; fill 'em up with whatever you enjoy. Their sourdough toast is great and their tomatoes tasted like real home grown tomatoes. The biggest surprise on the menu was freshly squeezed OJ. I'd come back for a glass of that on it's own. Gosh, it was great. Oh, and they have real cream for the coffee. Next time I go, I'll for sure try their homemade cinnamon rolls. I love their new outdoor patio seating. It's a well protected quaint seating area they share with Frenzy next door. It seems to be the perfect neighbor experience as by morning it's for Around the Corner Restaurant patrons and by late afternoon it's for Frenzy patrons. I love to see that kind of cooperation in local community businesses. I can't believe I waited this long to try Around the Corner Restaurant. I got the sense that the staff really cared about me and my fellow breakfast goers, wanting all of us to be well taken care of and enjoy our experience with them. Our first time to visit. The place was very crowded, so it didn't bother me horribly to wait 45 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, though, my daughter's chicken and waffles were room temperature and the waffles were hard. My chicken enchiladas were hot, but bland and nothing special. Looking back, I wish we had just walked out before the food arrived. I don't understand why there were so many people there - maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. Won't be back. read more

We haven't stopped for about two years so we decided to have breakfast here. I love the atmosphere, all of the antique looking decor, walls covered with various odds and ends! Coffee cups don't match (just like at my house) and the servers make you feel very welcome. There is a somewhat large dining area, booths and quite a few tables. We both had the two egg breakfast with sausage, hash browns and toast. I wish I could say it was good but my food was room temp at best. The hash browns being almost cold were a bit greasy and the eggs (over easy) seemed a little undercooked. It was pretty busy when we sat down so I'll assume that was the reason. I've been going to this spot since I was in high school, 25 years ago. With the growing popularity of downtown Edmond, I thought it would be fun to walk down the street and swing in for breakfast. Something's have changed but not a lot. The most noticeable thing was definitely the crowd. Place was packed. Service was as expedient as could have been expected with the inside at capacity and the outdoor patio area also almost full. I missed those eggs, somehow still cooked similar to how I remember them being a quarter century ago.
