There were 5 of us, and I'd say we tried a wide variety of the menu. Chicken fried steak sandwich and fries, The Big Breakfast, which included bacon, sausage, ham, 2 eggs and pancakes. We also had biscuits and gravy, and two of our party had the scram-bowls. Regular drip coffee to drink. We also tried the strawberry shortcake Bonut. Typically, the way I gage restaurants is a. Can I make this as good at home, and b. Is anything that I've eaten good enough that I would return her to eat it? The answer was that The Big Biscuit food was fair, not great. The only item any of us was impressed with was the Pancakes and the strawberry shortcake biscuit. But I don't see myself going back there with the very competitive brunch options in Edmond/OKC. read more

Stopped in again recently and had a great experience. Seated immediately, menus, water, and coffee at the table right away. I like the atmosphere, decorations, open setting. We had the Eggs Benedict with potatoes, and Western Omelet with added jalapenos. Everything came out hot and the potatoes were the perfect amount of crisp! Nice serving sizes as well. I have to mention the service. Our server kept our coffee mugs full and the manager stopped by twice to ask how things were going, Now for the menu! I have to go back because I LOVE some of the names they gave entrees and I must try them! The "3 Car Pileup" breakfast platter, the "Dark Side" pancakes, and Omelets named, "Popeye" and "The Titanic". The Big Biscuit is now on my short list of favorite breakfast stops. read more

First time at The Big Biscuit, did I order a biscuit, nope! When we entered we were greeted and seated quickly! The vibe was very rustic and cozy. Immediately received menu and got the coffee started. It was hit and delicious. We couldn't really decide what to get from this carb filled menu, so we decided to split a plate/platter of pancakes. The buttermilk pancakes were big and fluffy and had a sweet taste. Food came out hot and I forgot all about pictures, we dung in. Everything was delicious and fulfilling. My husband and I came here for the first time for an anniversary celebration weekend. We started out with salted caramel coffees. They tasted really watered down and were mostly ice, hardly any coffee in them, tasted mostly like cream. Would never order again. We (well just me) started with the Cronuts that I saw all the other reviews rave about. Omg soooo good. I would come back just for these. I had the burrito and my husband had the ranchero Bowl. Both were good but pretty basic. His came with a biscuit and it was so yummy as well and huge. Overall, wouldn't come here for their regular breakfasts or coffee but would return for cronuts or biscuits. Maybe get takeout and coffee somewhere else next time read more

It was just ok. The wait was 30 minutes and we were standing outside in the rain. We opened the patio to sit and a lot of others went to sit there too. The service was good but the toddler didn't eat the birthday pancakes that were doused in powdered sugar glaze and soggy. He only ate the whipped cream and some sprinkles. The gravey was disappointing, very pastey and flavorless with only a few chunks of either sausage or hamburger to be found. The kitchen sink was EVERYTHING tossed in a bowl and stirred up. It didn't look appetizing but my son-in-law ate 1/2 of it and didn't take the rest to go. I had overeasy eggs, bacon and potatoes that were ok, the 1/2 order of biscuits and gravey, blah. The atmosphere is very Denny's like & family friendly. At 100.00 for 3 adults and a 4 yr old I expected more. We won't be back for breakfast but might try a burger or lunch when I'm here again because it was close to the house and there's a big menu. Sorry there's not a more favorable report. read more

We were in Edmond at breakfast time this morning and tested out "The Big Biscuit". A wonderfully friendly wait staff helped us get seated. We ordered a short stack of pancakes, and a bowl of Biscuits & gravy. Wow this is a fantastic breakfast spot. The pancakes came out light & fluffy, perfectly cooked with loads of hot syrup and butter. The biscuit and gravy was very tasty, and came with a side of well seasoned home fries. Holy yum!! Everything was delicious. We checked in online for the waitlist and we were seated almost immediately after walking in. Our server was Leslie and she was absolutely wonderful!! She was quick, kind, and helpful in every way possible for our first time visiting. Recommended the "bonut" which was absolutely to die for! It's like a buttery funnel cake (drooling emoji). Got the kitchen sink skillet and it comes with a half biscuit and gravy, which was sooooo good and the perfect amount of biscuit. The egg scramble, I was able to save for the next day and feed my entire family (4 of us) for breakfast... HUGE portions!! And a very reasonable price. The coffee blend is DELISH. The iced coffee, we ordered, but it was way too sweet for my liking. Pretty much tasted like sugar and milk. But Leslie immediately offered to replace it, which was much appreciated. Sorry this review is a little late. About 3 or 4 months ago I visited The Big Biscuit after looking forward to it for a while. From the first employee that laid eyes on me, every server look like they had just sniffed a big pile of steaming s***. This is a poor management problem if every server has BF (not resting because I get the feeling that they probably emanate sunbeams as soon as they hit Big Biscuit's back door to leave). Wow. What a fantastic find! We accidentally found this place on Yelp while looking for a lunch spot on our day off. When we walked in, a staff member was holding the door for us as they greeted us. We went to the host stand and were immediately greeted again by the person who would seat us. Very shortly thereafter, we were greeted by our waiter who promptly brought our drinks. My coffee came in this cute little carafe that allowed me to refill my own cup. They have French Vanilla and regular/plain flavored creamer. For our meals, I had the Titanic Omelette as it comes and a Sticky Biscuit, loaded. The Sticky Biscuit was delicious! The perfect amount of crispness on the biscuit and, let me tell you, they don't serve dry, overcooked biscuits here. They were soft, fluffy and yummy. My omelette was also delicious and it came covered in a biscuit and gravy. Everything was delicious; although, looking back now, I think the mushrooms were missing from my omelette. Not a huge deal. Clearly I didn't notice at the time. Also, the gravy isn't your homemade "from a roux" sausage gravy, but it was still good. My husband had cinnamon roll pancakes, biscuits and gravy w/ hashbrowns, and a side of bacon. The pancakes were thin, which I love. I'm not a fan of thick pancakes. He said he wished the bottom cake had the same toppings as the top one, but other than that he liked them. He said the hashbrowns were really greasy, but idk how he could tell with all the ketchup he used lol. He also said that, if your name/theme is having big biscuits, he thought there should've been a better show of his biscuits and gravy. I guess he was looking for something more grand, but he did like them. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We could've used a bit more attention toward the end of the meal, but I'm sure he just got busy. Overall, I'm rating this experience, food and all, a 4 out of 5. We will definitely be returning for some more delicious food in the near future. Oh, I almost forgot. The restaurant is filled with old photos of Edmond from the old days. That was a really cool feature. I love seeing how the city looked before there were roads and the buildings that are there now. Also, the chairs look really great with the theme/decor of the restaurant; however, they are a bit uncomfortable if you have a butt at all. I did see them swapping out the fancier chairs for more standard restaurant chairs inside the room that they rent out. I'm not sure if they plan to change out all of the chairs, but just wanted to throw that out there. We will definitely be back soon! read more

I'm not totally sure about this place yet. It was interesting but in my opinion slightly over priced. I got the Holly Scram bowl and the flavors were good just didn't blow me away. My wife was not overly pleased with her breakfast and although it was fairly basic she thought the sausage gravy was bland. We started with the a sticky biscuit with pecans and I must admit the biscuits were good but definitely needed black coffee to tame the sweetness. I'll have to go back for a return visit to try again but it won't be any time soon. read more

Very nice staff and professionalism. Food was exceptional. I ordered my childhood favorite and was awesome. Grits with chopped bacon and 2 eggs on top. I was floored at how well it tasted. If you never liked grits, then this way here will change that. The hostess walked around to every unoccupied table and checked salt/pepper levels, ketchup dispenser cleanliness and all condiments while handling her other duties. Nice and peaceful atmosphere. Waited about 40 minutes when waitlist said about 15-25, no big deal it was Sunday morning so fully understand. They lost me when they brought out drinks. 1 of the drinks had a giant strand of hair right in the middle of it, no server should've missed that when bringing drinks out, rushing your job is not that important. We checked in with a large party (9) for a birthday celebration on Sunday, August 10, at 10:17 am. It was busy and I was told there would be a 30-45 minute wait. No problem. About 10:30 i informed the hostess that our entire party was present. At about 11:10 i checked again and was told and shown that we were at the top of the list. Any minute now. At 11:30 we were still waiting and told they were about to clear a table. About 11:45 we checked again and the hostess pointed to a large group and said they were waiting for them to leave. About 10 more minutes. They were still eating. While we waited they seated many groups of 4-6. A group of six that checked in an hour after i did was seated. About noon we informed the hostess that we were leaving and would not be back. read more
