Parking can be challenging as there are not too many spots but dining room is pretty spacious. Cute retro deco w Elvis. Tried the new item on the menu - wings but it was too salty. The wings were crispy but not too meaty. Burgers were good especially the bacons. They were crispy.

Chicken fry was huge and delicious and the brown beans were homemade tasting

Had chicken fried steak and wings and both were excellent!! The chicken fry was huge and the wings anew item. The mashed potatoes and cream gravy were awesome too!!! The place is always clean and the service was great too!!

This was our first time eating here. We came on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We ordered the all you can eat catfish with mashed potatoes, a side salad, and hush puppies. It was ok, I felt like the frying oil maybe needed to be changed for the catfish. We also ordered a burger, chicken friend steak sandwich, breakfast sausage sandwich, and a kids corn dog. The service was great. The food was ok, the decor was nice (love old school movie icons). The bathrooms were clean.

This new spot occupies the space of the old Johnnie's burger joint. It's easily accessible from Danforth and probably gets a lot of the high school crowd, right down the street. I loved Johnnie's and thought Boomarang would be a good enough replacement. We went through the drive thru.. there were no customers ahead of behind, so we took our time ordering. The menu didn't have all the items listed and priced so the employee was helpful and patient. Once we ordered we sat in drive thru for some time. Ordered chicken strip basket, Oreo shake and drink all for $15. Again we waited sometime for our food if we would have been behind our car I think I would have been upset with the long wait. The food finally came and it was hot, which is good. I'll have to come back and try a burger

Bacon ranch cheeseburger, with all the fixins. Ranch overwhelmed other flavors, but still pretty good. 3/5

Great local spot with friendly staff and good options. The all you can eat catfish on Friday is a solid choice as are the burgers and sides.

The vibe is definitely country as its decorated with a mix of country wall art featuring chickens, mixed with OU, OSU, and UCO sports items. I ordered two eggs over easy with bacon grits and wheat toast. The eggs were cooked to perfection which is many times a struggle at many restrauants. The noise was low, the service good and the prices moderate.

We found ourselves undecided on where to eat and landed on Around the Corner--a spot we've…read moretypically enjoyed for breakfast. This time, we switched it up and went for lunch... and honestly, it just didn't hit the same. The place still has that classic diner charm--walls packed with memorabilia, a laid-back vibe, and a friendly staff that makes you feel welcome right away. It's one of those local spots that feels like it's been part of the community forever. I ordered the Reuben, hoping it would redeem my recent disappointment with a French Dip in Denver. It wasn't bad... just not what I was hoping for. My preference is a traditional rye bread so I thought this would be a winner. The sandwich was decent, but nothing memorable. Fries were another miss for me, but that one's partly on me--I didn't ask for them well done like I usually do. Now, my wife's meal? That told a different story. She went with the cheeseburger and onion rings--and those onion rings absolutely stole the show. Crispy, golden, and according to our server, made with an in-house batter. If you come here for lunch, do yourself a favor and order those. One thing I still appreciate is the unique menu presentation--it's styled like a newspaper, complete with articles, with the actual menu tucked into the center. A fun touch that adds to the diner experience. Overall, lunch was just okay this time around. If this had been a breakfast visit, I suspect the rating might've been higher--that's where this place has really shined for us in the past. The Verdict: * Great diner atmosphere * Friendly service * Onion rings = must order * Lunch (this visit) = just average We'll be back... but next time, we're sticking with breakfast.

Gage, our waiter was very professional and helpful. He guided us through the menu and helped us make good choices. We started with three mule cocktails. We had the Oaxacan, the Moscow and Kentucky Mules. Everyone enjoyed the cocktails. One thing that stood out to me for my Oaxacan Mule is that the Mezcal's smoky flavor really shown through and it was not overly sweet. A very clean cocktail, which I highly appreciate! We ordered the Chef's Salad Wrap with Onion Rings, French Dip with the tomato soup, and the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with seasonal side of grits. I enjoyed the Chef's Salad Wrap but I would probably be a little more bold next time and get the Cortez or the Reuben. I craved a lighter choice and was more sinful with the over the top delicious onion rings! Wowowow! Hubby enjoyed his soup and French dip and son enjoy his Philly cheesesteak and grits. I would definitely love to revisit and try more of their items.

We were greeted warmly and offered to take any table as only a couple other tables were taken. The restaurant is clean and homey with a European/ French influence in some of the food items and decor. The soft jazz playing added to the French bistro vibe. Being our first visit, we chatted with the new owner who took over from her sister. She was very friendly and engaging. When asked why beignets were on the menu she said because she loved them and travels to visit family in France on the regular. We ordered one to try and it was just like what you find at Cafe Du Monde in Jackson Square. The croissants looked tempting and like what we've had in French restaurants, but we didn't have any. The menu is undergoing a few changes expanding the breakfast offerings but will retain most of the menu items. The server was also very friendly, thorough and checked on us several times. He was also very engaging and helped us with the menu. I had the Western Omelet, potatoes and toast (brioche). The "European Butter blend" had a much better flavor than the usual packaged butter. The omelet was good and the salsa very tasty, but not spicy. My wife loved that they offered "Small Bites" for smaller appetites. She had 1 egg (cooked a perfect over medium), 2 slices of bacon and French toast (1 slice cut in half). She enjoyed her meal. We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.

The entrance has had a light refresh as well. Gone is the big glass dessert display case but the additional walking space is nice. Sadly we learned that the cakes are being discontinued, RIP the wonderful carrot cake. Fortunately we snagged one of the last pieces. It's my understanding that cookies and other sweet treats will still be available. The menu is loaded with new and exciting choices. Deciding what to choose was a great problem to have. We started with the Trio Dipper with house made chips and balloon bread, which is like pita bread on steroids and just as delicious. The dip selections were terrific and we were brought more chips when ours ran low. Two of us ordered the Tuscan Chicken. They were exceptional bites. They were parmesan breaded chicken fritters stuffed with the tomatoes and cheese. It's an inventive take on a traditional recipe and a tasty home run! My husband ordered the Chicken Piccata, looking for a lower calorie option. The lemon butter wine sauce was delicious and it's a terrific option. The last guest chose the fried chicken which is an old and familiar favorite. You absolutely cannot go wrong. We ended the night sharing a piece of carrot cake and a salted caramel cookie.
