We had been to Flatire Burgers a few times before, but it had been a while since our last visit. The atmosphere is still fun, and the staff were friendly--though we did have to flag them down multiple times. The burgers were fine, but not worth the 40+ minute wait. We had the Irish Nachos (little too much cheese so had to order extra chips to soup up all the toppings); Jalapeño burger, Mac and cheese (too dry- like it had been sitting under heat all day); chicken fingers/ fries. Chicken fingers were thick and crispy- really good! Burger was also good. I would go back and try their Rachel Ruben and maybe a shake (they have lots of shake options). Only big complaint was that we sat under one of the bikes that hangs from ceiling and it was nasty with dust all over the wheels/ spokes. This unassuming UCO haunt is a must stop for an awesome diner type experience, with a proper happy hour including snacks. We started out with the happy hour cheese fries and decided two orders were definitely necessary. The cheese fries had the perfect sharp cheddar cheesy goodness and were piping hot! Hubs and I ordered the wild mushroom burger and the flatire burger with tator tots and sweet potato fries. My son in law and daughter had the fish tacos, borracho beans and the jalepeno popper burger. Everyone enjoyed their food. Although I did not try my son in law's jalepeno burger....it was a hit with the others. I simply adored the mushroom burger and thought the herbed goat cheese was a nice addition to the recipe. Last night we had Flatire burgers in Edmond. IIt is located by the beautiful UCO campus. We ordered a Hells burger and the Tampico tacos. Also we ordered the root beer floater. The service was excellent and barely much time between ordering and receiving our food. The prices are very affordable. I noticed the do trivia and singo nights, so very interested in that too. Fun bicycle themed restaurant near the campus of UCO. I wish this was here when I went to college there! The burgers and tacos aren't bad. My favorite are the green chili spokes that are on the appetizer list. They have a little bit of spice with the dipping sauce and they're delicious! My husband and I like going here when we want to split burgers but also want to add another food item to share, since they have lots of options. They have a great happy hour. This is a restaurant that is so close to where I live, I walk! It is an excellent snowy or cold day treat. We always get the s'mores set up which is so delicious. This time we tried the four wheeler appetizer (I got it for my meal) and it was HUGE!!!! I could have shared it with 1-2 other people and I had leftovers for 2 more meals! And the burger had a blond hair in it 1/3 of the way through. I told the server and she comped just my burger. The manager never came out to apologies for the poor experience. Flat Tire is our favorite place to get a burger. There is such a variety of flavors for burgers and you can pick a different patty, such as turkey. This place knows how to make a burger -- the flat top was definitely hot enough to provide a nice seer, the ingredients were perfectly proportioned to go with the 1/2 pound patty and the sides were excellent. The menu had some great offerings with very interesting drinks and ice cream deserts. Everything that came out looked great. The service by our waitress Milo was excellent -- not too much, but just enough and perfectly timed. She did an excellent job and we definitely showed a little extra appreciation. As for the ambiance, the place has a nice college vibe with great music that is played at just the right volume, comfortable seating and cool art and artifacts on the walls. We shared the Wicked Queso served with the best, thin tortilla chips. My son had the Green Chili Bacon Burger and now keeps saying it's a burger that will haunt him for a long time., it was so tasty. Losing a regular for sure after this experience, the lady who is generally here and who I think is the general manager of the restaurant has no business working in the restaurant industry if she can't address her customers with the simplest forms of respect no matter how rough of a day she might be having.
