What a gem! The Lookout is at Kickingbird Golf Course but you don't have to play golf to enjoy this great restaurant and the food is not your standard public course sandwich shop. The offerings are thoughtful and delicious. The service is consistently good. They hire a lot of young people and train them well. The atmosphere is clean, well designed and has beautiful light and views of the course. The catering facility is about the best in Edmond (including that other golf course farther north). The staff is knowledgeable and caring. I'm so pleased we have such a wonderful restaurant option and banquet facility here in Edmond! read more

I wanted something different for lunch and The Lookout happened to be in the area where I was driving. I'm not a golfer, I've golfed and I've been to the driving range but it's just not for me! However, I have found out some of the best food is served at golf courses. Since I was eating solo I sat at the bar. The menu was intriguing and I had to give some thought as to what I wanted to try. I knew I wanted a sandwich or burger so I went back and forth between the Club Sandwich, the French Dip, Pulled Pork, and the burgers. I finally decided I'm at The Lookout why not just go with the signature Lookout Burger. It was delicious, the smoky bacon stuck out the most along with the pimento cheese! The burger was nice and juicy. The only negative was the bun! It just didn't hold up to the burger. The fries were good as I asked for them to be crispy! I sat in front of a fully stocked bar but this was only a lunch break and I had to return to work. Madison was the person behind the bar and she was delightful! After I finished and she brought the tab we discussed best options for lunch, her top choice was the French Dip. That being one of my favorite sandwiches I must return to try it out! This being a golf course restaurant one would naturally see a lot of the golf theme. However, you don't have to golf to enjoy some good food! Went on a Friday night at 5 PM to catch the end of happy hour! It was not super crowded and the outside seating was open which is what we were hoping for. The wait service outside was iffy, the woman that was serving us was the bartender so I totally understand how she had a heavy load that night. I was not sure what to expect when going here, but was delighted by the outcome. Service was impeccable. This will be our go to place on those days we are looking for a great patio. We split the loaded tator tots. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with a side salad. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich with a side salad. All really good. Portions were so large, we had leftovers. I have been here for a few events, so this is a review of that vs the restaurant which I have not dined in. Every luncheon I've been to here has great quality food and excellent service! While this location is pretty far out of the way for me, I've been happy to attend several events here knowing that I'll get a delicious meal. Edited to say: they did finally provide a refund for the missing item. We love this place, but tonight's experience was pretty bad. I used their online ordering to purchase food, and upon arrival to pick it up, the bag was stapled closed. (Points for safety). However, the restaurant just decided that one of us wasn't going to get to eat. Then, after calling the restaurant from home, we were told there was "NOTHING THEY COULD DO." I'm sorry, what?! I literally have a baby whose food was the order left out. After speaking to a clearly incompetent employee about a refund, we were told a manager would call us. No one has called. Three seats at the bar provided us with the best view of the games on the TVs, Diedre C as our bartender, and some of the best service ever. I had read about the Lookout and knew that it is owned by the same group that owns The Mule in OKC and Edmond. So, going into this experience I knew it had to be great. We started with Chips, Queso, and Salsa then moved on to our entrees: a Pulled Pork Sandwich (from the menu---Brioche bun, smoked pulled pork, haystack fried onions, American cheese, BBQ sauce, Cole slaw, cherry pepper relish) and a Buffalo Chicken Wrap (again, from the menu---Spinach tortilla, fried buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, bleu cheese. All of us ordered a side of fried Okra. The food is amazing. The view of the golf course is beautiful. There's a quick stop area attached to The Lookout called The Turn that can take care of you when you are rushing to get back to the back nine. read more

I came to the course to get some time in at the range. I decided to grab some food. I was seated by a nice hostess. The group sat immediately before me received immediate attention. The waitress came and took care of general greetings and drink orders within less than a minute of being seated. I was ignored. I sat there for over five minutes without so much as acknowledgement. I got up and left. I may have been alone but ignoring me was unacceptable and I will be far less likely to patronize either this restaurant or golf course in the near future. read more

The waitresses must be hired solely on their looks in shorts because we have had mediocre service more than once. Last night she forgot to add the shrimp my husband asked for on his salad, and didn't come back to check on us until the meal was finished. However, without a doubt the worst part of our experience was when they started vacuuming the floor right next to my feet with the loudest vacuum I've ever heard. This went on and on around the floor, and so our meal was almost totally accompanied by that horrible motor sound. Then they moved some tables and chairs by dragging them across the floor for the encore to the loud sound night. I couldn't believe we had to have our conversation with such atrocious background noise, and this was a full hour before the alleged closing time. Living close to the Lookout, we have enjoyed eating at a casual place with good prices. Sadly, it has slowly gone downhill over the last six months or more, until last night when it just crashed. This is a perfect bar and grill styled restaurant not just for golfers! While I'm sure it is busier in the warmer months, there was still a cozy and fun atmosphere in the winter months as well. We found this place while visiting For a rodeo. Weren't sure we could eat there since it is attached to a golf course. We got in around 3:30 pm and were promptly served. Good was great!
