That's a stacked Hillbilly breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns ,biscuits,,its got it all ,,just no seasoning!
    Ronnie R.

Well, heard a bit about this place so thought I'd try it on an early Friday morning, place was busy but still had several open tables, nice waitress too BTW, started off with coffee and water while waiting for the "Hilbilly" this was two eggs, two bacon and a sausage, hash browns w/ cheese all stacked on open faced biscuits then covered with sausage gravy, yes I'm interested by now,,lol, anyway if your not a fan of mixing food then beware but not me ,,it was all spot on EXCEPT I couldn't taste any seasoning,,salt -pepper? Nothing ,,,(hence the 4 star), any way I will be back to try again and hopefully its more flavorful ,,super nice staff too

$6 and some change. Unfortunately not worth it. 4/9/21

This was a last minute decision to try this place. It's definitely your usual diner atmosphere and food which isn't bad but the staff wasn't the most friendly and I felt like I was over charged! Frustrating but now I know.

    New diner in Edmond!

These are the types of places that need to stick around -- fantastic, non-intimidating, home-cooked diner with a menu of staple dishes, daily specials, and lots of sweet options. Word on the street is, Ms. Virginia is the former owner of the Coltrane Cafe. Apparently she is not done with her patrons, as this little place has only been open a couple months and has never had an empty lot during business hours. One of the daily lunch specials ($8) today included cabbage rolls with choice of three sides (out of 10+). I'm a sucker for new experiences and special opportunities, so I ordered the cabbage roll then asked what it was. In less than 10 minutes, I received a super tender meatloaf wrapped in equally tender cabbage leaf, mashed potatoes, green pea salad, side salad with honey mustard, and bread (cornbread square and biscuit). I must say, my complaints for the meat and potatoes were of temperature (not piping hot) and under-seasoning (I added ample salt and pepper). But the portion, consistency, and lightness of the meal was spot on! I loved the sweet creaminess of the green pea salad. The salad (chopped iceberg) is simple and quickly delivered to cut any immediate hunger pangs. The bread items were also mentioned to be home-made. AND THEN THERE WAS PIE.... so many options, I asked the staff which I should choose. Coconut and Lemon Lush ($3 slice) were the replies, so I again went adventurous for the Lemon Lush. It was a beautiful, light lemon filling with graham cracker crust (perfect thickness) with a layer of whipped cream on bottom, then smothered with whipped cream on top. It really was a battle on which dessert to choose as a fellow diner informed me of the delicious cinnamon rolls. Lastly, let me mention the friendliness of the staff and cooks. Its a "grab a seat where you'd like" kind of place, and all were happy to satisfy their guests. On this Monday lunch break, they had a couple large tables and several stragglers (self as one), and I was in/out/paid for in 30-40 minutes WITHOUT BEING RUSHED. While I'm excited to get a bit more seasoning on the next round, I am emphatic about supporting this local diner! I will be back.

I'm not a golfer, I've golfed and I've been to the driving range but it's just not for me! However, I have found out some of the best food is served at golf courses. Since I was eating solo I sat at the bar. The menu was intriguing and I had to give some thought as to what I wanted to try. I knew I wanted a sandwich or burger so I went back and forth between the Club Sandwich, the French Dip, Pulled Pork, and the burgers. I finally decided I'm at The Lookout why not just go with the signature Lookout Burger. It was delicious, the smoky bacon stuck out the most along with the pimento cheese! The burger was nice and juicy. The only negative was the bun! It just didn't hold up to the burger. The fries were good as I asked for them to be crispy! I sat in front of a fully stocked bar but this was only a lunch break and I had to return to work. Madison was the person behind the bar and she was delightful! After I finished and she brought the tab we discussed best options for lunch, her top choice was the French Dip. That being one of my favorite sandwiches I must return to try it out! This being a golf course restaurant one would naturally see a lot of the golf theme. However, you don't have to golf to enjoy some good food! I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

My wife also found a small bug crawling around on the blackberries that came with her French toast. The timing of the food was another major issue. Her meal arrived in about 20 minutes, but my food still hadn't come out over 20 minutes later, so she had already finished eating before I got anything. At that point, we asked for my meal to be removed so we could just leave. To their credit, the staff did take my food off the bill without any hassle, and I appreciated that. But overall, it wasn't the kind of experience we expected, especially on Mother's Day.

I had high hopes about this place as my brother was in town visiting and said he read a good review…read moreabout it. The decor is very eclectic and kitschy...it looks like they furnished it with goodwill. Which is not a negative thing, in my book...just a specific aesthetic. Upon first glance, I was impressed by the menu and its extensive offerings. Everything sounded very good and we were hungry having a late breakfast. I ordered an iced french vanilla latte to drink and it was pretty good. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but I can appreciate a sweet, well balanced latte. The waitress seemed panicked from the moment she introduced herself. She was kind and polite, but you could tell she wanted us to hurry up so she could get to her other tables. I think the poor girl was maybe the only person serving our party of three and another party of like 15 that came in, so it was clear she was overwhelmed. The ordering process felt very rushed and the moment we stopped talking, she launched towards the back. I've served for over 20 years, so I have compassion for being "in the weeds", but the key to good service is to not make the customer bear the weight of your urgency, in my opinion. Nonetheless, we ordered our food with anticipation. I was excited that they offered eggs Benedict in several different forms, but I ordered it the old fashioned way with hash browns as my side. The food took a reasonable amount of time to cook. Once we received our meals, everything looked really good. As I cut into my eggs Benedict, I realized the egg wasn't fully poached (it was still gooey) and the meat they used wasn't actual Canadian Bacon, but rather a sliced deli meat. I'm assuming it was ham. It looked like they pulled it straight out of a package from Walmart and slapped it on the English muffin. The food was just not good and definitely not worth the price. My brother got an omelet and there was cheese on top, but it was literally a sliced cheese laid on top of the omelette and it wasn't even fully melted. I respect this establishment as it is a small business and I give them kudos for what they did well. I would recommend they reduce their menu selections and focus on offering better quality ingredients for the items they serve. As for the service, it's a human experience. Some days are good and some days are bad. My only recommendation is that if you're "in the weeds" let your table know that you just got sat with a big top and you need to catch up, but you're going to take great care of them. That feels much better than feeling rushed. All in all, I don't envision myself coming back to this place unless I hear some significant changes are made regarding the quality of ingredients in their food.

The entrance has had a light refresh as well. Gone is the big glass dessert display case but the additional walking space is nice. Sadly we learned that the cakes are being discontinued, RIP the wonderful carrot cake. Fortunately we snagged one of the last pieces. It's my understanding that cookies and other sweet treats will still be available. The menu is loaded with new and exciting choices. Deciding what to choose was a great problem to have. We started with the Trio Dipper with house made chips and balloon bread, which is like pita bread on steroids and just as delicious. The dip selections were terrific and we were brought more chips when ours ran low. Two of us ordered the Tuscan Chicken. They were exceptional bites. They were parmesan breaded chicken fritters stuffed with the tomatoes and cheese. It's an inventive take on a traditional recipe and a tasty home run! My husband ordered the Chicken Piccata, looking for a lower calorie option. The lemon butter wine sauce was delicious and it's a terrific option. The last guest chose the fried chicken which is an old and familiar favorite. You absolutely cannot go wrong. We ended the night sharing a piece of carrot cake and a salted caramel cookie.
