We stopped here in a whim on 12.10.24 getting a quick bite before a long day. The service here was outstanding from Julia. We each had a couple of eggs over medium and toast. All of the food was delicious and hit the spot. We were also offered some amazing homemade desserts but had to pass this time. Checked out Virginia's place on a whim with my mom and it turned out to be a delightful meal/experience. Christie, the owners daughter is so kind and attentive and took great care of us girls. Well, heard a bit about this place so thought I'd try it on an early Friday morning, place was busy but still had several open tables, nice waitress too BTW, started off with coffee and water while waiting for the "Hilbilly" this was two eggs, two bacon and a sausage, hash browns w/ cheese all stacked on open faced biscuits then covered with sausage gravy, yes I'm interested by now,,lol, anyway if your not a fan of mixing food then beware but not me ,,it was all spot on EXCEPT I couldn't taste any seasoning,,salt -pepper? Owner is kind with good food but lets a gentleman that is clearly soiled and dirty pants sit with everyone trying to eat. I've never said anything but it's not clean. Decided to eat breakfast here since our electricity was out. We went in and sat down. Five minutes later, after the waitress had still not acknowledged us, couldn't see any menu up on walls besides lunch and dessert, we walked out. Waitress comes outside and we were already across parking lot and entering car. She asked us if we changed our mind. Yes, we did. I know five minutes isn't long but she was talking to a table, walked over to another table and talked to them, walked up to the fountain, walked over to the cash register and stood there. There were only 3 occupied tables in the place but she didn't look at us, say hi, I'll be with you shortly, bring us a menu or any kind of acknowledgment. So, we won't be back. These are the types of places that need to stick around -- fantastic, non-intimidating, home-cooked diner with a menu of staple dishes, daily specials, and lots of sweet options. Word on the street is, Ms. Virginia is the former owner of the Coltrane Cafe. Apparently she is not done with her patrons, as this little place has only been open a couple months and has never had an empty lot during business hours. One of the daily lunch specials ($8) today included cabbage rolls with choice of three sides (out of 10+). I'm a sucker for new experiences and special opportunities, so I ordered the cabbage roll then asked what it was. In less than 10 minutes, I received a super tender meatloaf wrapped in equally tender cabbage leaf, mashed potatoes, green pea salad, side salad with honey mustard, and bread (cornbread square and biscuit). I must say, my complaints for the meat and potatoes were of temperature (not piping hot) and under-seasoning (I added ample salt and pepper). But the portion, consistency, and lightness of the meal was spot on! I loved the sweet creaminess of the green pea salad. The salad (chopped iceberg) is simple and quickly delivered to cut any immediate hunger pangs. The bread items were also mentioned to be home-made. AND THEN THERE WAS PIE.... so many options, I asked the staff which I should choose. Coconut and Lemon Lush ($3 slice) were the replies, so I again went adventurous for the Lemon Lush. It was a beautiful, light lemon filling with graham cracker crust (perfect thickness) with a layer of whipped cream on bottom, then smothered with whipped cream on top. It really was a battle on which dessert to choose as a fellow diner informed me of the delicious cinnamon rolls. Lastly, let me mention the friendliness of the staff and cooks. Its a "grab a seat where you'd like" kind of place, and all were happy to satisfy their guests. On this Monday lunch break, they had a couple large tables and several stragglers (self as one), and I was in/out/paid for in 30-40 minutes WITHOUT BEING RUSHED. While I'm excited to get a bit more seasoning on the next round, I am emphatic about supporting this local diner! I will be back. read more

Such a fun homey diner! The wait staff is super friendly and the owner "Virginia" is in the back cooking up your food. I had the biscuits and gravy with hash browns, egg, cheese, bacon and sausage and it was pretty good. Nothing that blows the socks off you but great for the price. So, Virginia's was a place recommended by someone local here in Edmond. You would almost have to be a local to eat here. I'm not even sure where to begin. It's a seat yourself place with two waitresses. The tables are sticky and not in any particular order. We dined in on a Wednesday for lunch and the restaurant wasn't super busy. While waiting for our food I was able to observe the kitchen and waitresses working. Jodie was our waitress and she took care of our needs. The other woman with the long hair was handling rolls and biscuits with her bare hands from fresh plates after cleaning tables and using the register. I waited for her to wash her hands and did not see it. This is my biggest complaint. My second complaint is that THE MAYO HERE IS MIRACLE WHIP. I find it horrible that there isn't a warning but I also know that certain parts of the country like it over mayo. Just be warned that it's also the mayo used to make the homemade ranch. I gave them three stars only because of how they handled sending the BLT back. Not only did they make a fresh BLT but the staff was friendly and understood our disdain for miracle whip. Handling food without gloves can not be overlooked and automatically gets two stars in my opinion. I won't be back and will not recommend this place. read more

This is my favorite breakfast place EVER. Have been going here since I was a junior in high school--would go every morning before school when there was a football game with my best fri d, back when it was Coltrane Café! Always have great service, and the food quality is consistent. Love the 99 cent endless coffee and the hillbilly special is ONE OF A KIND! SO GOOD! Go in, ask for Sue--she's awesome! Awful puts it kindly. First, they need to clean the place. The chairs are all ripped and taped. The metal around the seats are disgusting. Never washed ..yuk. I ordered two eggs over medium with crisp bacon and a well toasted English muffin. Nothing exotic! The eggs came, hard and looked poached, the bacon was barely cooked and the muffin was hardly toasted. When I commented to the waitress that the English muffin want hardly toasted her answer was that the toasted doesn't toast well...dah, put it in again.
