Cannot speak for the food. Can say that reservations is not really a thing. We had a 10am reservation it's now 1130 and still waiting. They did add walkins in front of those with a reservation. I am fully aware and thoughtful that this is a busy weekend. However please stop telling walkins that it's a 20-30 min wait when it's really at least an hour. Definitely a busy place on Saturday around 10:30am, so would highly recommend getting on the waitlist, but it's definitely worth the wait. Had the basic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns. For those with allergies, they were able to accommodate my diary allergy by cooking everything with cooking spray versus their normal oil/butter mixture, so that's was a huge plus! Grannies is my current #1 for breakfast and I've been to this location and the one on the Northside. They're pretty consistent with the food. The service is pretty good and consistently friendly. So yesterday we were in town to visit family. My husband wanted breakfast so he said let's go try Granny's Kitchen. The restaurant is so cute. We had the nicest waitress her name was Dawn, she said like the dish soap. She brought us a scrumptious and delicious cinnamon roll. She helped my husband order and his meal was huge and did not disappoint it was a chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and fluffy pancakes made from scratch. It was delicious. I had the egg white omelette and double cottage cheese it was so good. Orlando is the owner and he is awesome he stopped and told the story behind the restaurant because I was curious. I ordered the breakfast BLT which was great too! Sweet and spicy bacon, tomato, lettuce on sourdough with habanero jam. Perfect mix of sweet, salty, and spicy. The potatoes were perfect too. We came to Granny's when we did a Yelp search. We read some of the reviews and the breakfast pictures looked inviting. It was ok. To me, it was just bland. I don't normally season it my food but at this place I felt like I had to put a lot of pepper and salt. The waitress was great. Service was great. I just thought what I ordered. It was an omelette with avocado. Would I go back there again? Probably. I would just order something different. They have a wide variety of selections. The GM Orlando is so friendly accommodating the breakfast is as closed to mama's breakfast. The biscuits are as close to HOMEADE you can get. My husband and I went there for the first time today and we would give it at five 5. There are definitely some more things we like better than others, but the manager/owner was very nice and our waitress was also very friendly. I originally ordered hamburger steak for breakfast with two eggs and when it came out, it was well done and it was way too Overcooked for me. The manager/owner (Orlando) came out and talked to me, made sure I got what I wanted, and went the extra mile. My husband and I ended up both getting the pork ribeye and it was DELICIOUS! It was moist and juicy and just had a wonderful flavor to it. We would also give their biscuits and gravy a five 5 and would definitely order those again. Since it was our first time, they gave us a large heated cinnamon roll, and we shared that too, my husband really liked it. It felt like an "upscale" diner, with an ample menu and still reasonable prices. Our waitress was so sweet, and did such a great job! I wish I had caught her name! My two little kids split a kid platter of 5 silver dollar pancakes, bacon, and eggs for $9- there was plenty for each. I got the veggie omelet and was impressed by the number of sides included! Def came over easy but it's all good. Sausage patty was big but not the most savory I've tasted. I also ordered a side of gravy and a biscuit. Damn that biscuit was good, soft and squirted with butter. I've never had a biscuit like so. I guess I'm too used to KFC's Let me tell you, THE PORTIONS WERE HEFTY. Worth the price. Chicken fried steak was bigger than my brother's face!! The burrito can easily be split for two! Tbh our server must've been new so she was a bit hesitant and slow but it's ok, we've all been new somewhere! Just a bit more practice but she got our orders right! After she took our drink order, she came back with a housemate Cinnamon Roll since we were first timers...which is in their starter menu. I thought that was a really nice touch. The menu is huge, a 2 sided menu with so many options both savory, salty & sweet, lots of classic breakfast items but also many unique items, so there's lots to choose from. I was a bit overwhelmed but my neighbor had an interesting skillet dish so I went with that. A bed of hash browns topped with diced onions & bell peppers, shredded cheese & your choice of 2 sausage patties or 4 links's, 2 eggs any style, and your choice of biscuit, pancake or toast. A lot of food for $14.99. My daughter got 2 eggs with meat but she still got her choice of biscuit, toast or pancake...she chose pancake. Our friends orders the Breakfast Nachos & corned beef hash with eggs, also served with hash browns and they also ordered a strawberry crepe. Fun place for a good, hearty breakfast or lunch.
