Small cozy café with your typical diner feel. This was our first time in and we were super excited to try this place out. When we came in the, the only booth available was right next to the restroom. Not always a problem, but they had so much of that bathroom air freshener that it was completely overwhelming. You couldn't stand to sit there let alone try to eat a meal through it so we asked to be moved to a different table. Our waiter, cleared a table,... And seated someone else at it. He did this twice. So we went back to remind him that he was going to move us. He didn't seem too thrilled about it, but we finally did get a table away from the toilet. It took him 25 minutes to take our order. And then we never saw him again. We had to flag two other waiters down to get coffee refills. Now the food. We all ordered the two egg breakfast. One had scrambled eggs and three with eggs over medium. First, the orders came back with scramble so we had to send them back. They brought the eggs back, but they were not over medium, they were over hard. Not what anyone wanted, but we ate them. I will say that none of our food was hot , not even the plates. The plates were handed to us right to our hands so they didn't really even try to warm anything. Several of us ordered grits and that was a joke. There was literally 4 tablespoons of grits. I would barely call that a side dish. The best thing about our experience was that the coffee was blazing hot and that was great... If you could only get a refill without having to hunt down a waiter. Service was one. I'm giving the review of three because the food didn't taste bad but I would've preferred it Hot and cooked properly. Maybe next time...? read more

Great Breakfast! Found this on Yelp. Very nice, clean place. Looks small on outside but plenty of seating. Ordered the Bowl with meats over potatoes. Asked for salsa too, 2 were $2.98 extra. Husband ordered the country bowl over Hashbrowns. Both good. You even get a side too. We got pancakes and then biscuits n gravy. They give you 2 biscuits but just enough gravy for 1. Next time I will just tell them 1 Biscut. They will charge probably for extra gravy. Plenty to fill you up. read more

What an amazing find, nestled in an unassuming strip mall along NW Highway. We were greeted by enthusiastic welcomes as we entered the restaurant. We seated ourselves and a smiling face and menus arrived quickly. Our coffee cups never ran dry and I have to say that theirs is a wonderful breakfast blend. I drank way too many cups of coffee but I couldn't resist the great taste. We both ordered the same thing, a traditional breakfast of eggs, hash browns and bacon. I added biscuits and gravy because I am drawn to them like bees to flowers. The hash browns were delicious and expertly cooked. Getting that crunchy exterior without sacrificing the interior is difficult and requires a deft hand. The meal was delicious and has become my go-to breakfast spot. It's much better than the more well known names in town. Even though I was stuffed, I couldn't resist a cinnamon roll to go. My plan was to save it for the next morning's breakfast but to be honest it didn't survive the day. It's a huge roll delivered with everything delicious that you'd want. I'd recommend having it served warm instead of taking it home. The microwave is not kind to bread products. Let's support our local businesses and I encourage you to stop by very soon. read more

My breakfast run lately has been a disaster. I'm giving Eggceptional the MOST generous 3 stars I've ever given I think. We arrived at 10:45 a.m. on a rainy Saturday morning. We came in at the same time as four other groups and luckily found a table for two. We weren't greeted and basically ignored for about 10 minutes. I kept an eye out for the groups that entered around the same time and they didn't get any service really either. Finally got waited on and just got water and coffee to drink. Our server took our order about 10 minutes later. And then we sat. And sat. And sat. All four groups who came in at the same time were in the same boat. There was literally no food being served. There was one lady who came in after us who sat at the bar the got her food way before the rest of it but that's it. No tables were being bussed either. While we sat, at least 2 groups who came in and were waiting by the door, left. They were never greeted, or acknowledged. After 45 minutes we finally got our food, 2nd in the line of four groups and we actually came in last of the groups so we jumped in front of two groups being served and they were another 5 minutes or so before they received their food. I don't know that I've had many times where the customer relations and service were worse...or non existent. Now on to our food. If you have all morning to sit and wait for a breakfast (that to me is a pretty easy meal to make) the food is a nice surprise. My breakfast burrito was super tasty and fresh. My wife had the tacos and she said they were very good. The hash browns were meh. This would totally be somewhere I would go based on the food but I can't say I'm eager to spend an hour or more on breakfast food and poor service any time soon. If note, they only have one unisex bathroom that was nearly impossible to get into when its busy. At least that was our experience. At Eggceptional before 10AM. We were told to seat ourselves. Smaller cafe. About 17 tables. Ordered the healthy bowl and huevos rancheros and side of oatmeal. $31.99 The Huevos Rancheros looks good, it's decent. Lots of hot link pieces in it. This would be better with some black beans. It has a ton of big cut potatoes as filler. The hot links has a bit of kick to it. The healthy bowl doesn't look so healthy as it's smothered with cheese. It's okay, not a lot of flavor to it. My husband took the half of the Huevos Rancheros and added it to the rest of the health bowl to amp it up some, made it better. The Cholula makes any dish better. Great new breakfast place on NW expressway. They are only open until 2:00 and we went at 12:30, so it wasn't crowded at all. You are told to pick your own seat then they will come take your order. The service was friendly and quick. We didn't wait long for our food, and they came to check on us often. I ordered the healthy bowl with egg whites and ground turkey. It was very delicious and more than I could eat in 1 sitting. I also got a side of pancakes, which I thought was so cute that it came out with Mickey ears! Food is delicious, portions are large, and the prices are affordable. My only complaint was that it smelled a little weird. So the final verdict, is Eggceptional cafe eggceptional? It does everything eggceptionally well ENOUGH with the eggception of misspelling the word eggceptional. For that reason, English teachers/professors may find the cafe not eggceptional and EGGVOID at all cost. For everyone else, the cafe is overall eggceptional. I would recommend to check out this eggceptional cafe. DISCLOSURE: I am not an English teacher. This is an eggceptional breakfast/lunch diner on Expressway. Eggceptional service. My coffee was refilled 3 times, which was eggceptional for me. Diner is neat and clean, but nothing of being eggceptional. The Huevos rancheros was good and the portion size was generous. It could have fed 2 people. I couldn't finish the entrée. Was it eggceptional? It was good but I wouldn't call it eggceptional. I'll give credit for it being different. This was our first time here. Small restaurant. Very busy. We had high hopes. We were first seated next to the bathrooms but asked to be moved because we could smell the deodorizer. They said they would move us when a table opened however, they seated the next family in the door. Another table opened and I walked over and asked our waiter who was cleaning it, if we could move. He said "I dont know, ask him". I had to wait for the other guy to finish taking an order, meanwhile, our waiter seated the next family at the door in that table. Another table opened and I told him that we were leaving if we could not have that table (we have been here at least 15 munutes now) so he let us move. It then took 24 minutes for him to come take our orders for our table of 4. One order was incorrect but the mistake was corrected quickly. Unfortunately, all of our eggs were way overcooked. Our waiter never came back to the table one time to offer refills or see if we needed anything. I had to wave my arm in the air to get the attention of another waiter twice for refills. I waved our waiter over once for butter, sugar and black pepper because ours was empty. Another waiter brought us pepper quickly but our waiter brought us 2 sugars and 2 pats of butter for a table of 4. Some time after we finished eating and were just sitting there being ignored, a man walked by and placed our ticket on the table and walked off without a word. Warmly greeted upon entering, I felt the genuine hospitality all visit. One waiter taking care of about 10 people deftly, he didn't even forget my to-go order at the end of my meal. I didn't sit at the coffee bar for my hurting back, but the clean black booths were comfortable with plenty of regular table seating available too. I would've liked to though because it gives a close-up view of the open kitchen, easily seen cleanliness & well-mannered hard-working cooks. Nothing to hide here. Now for the food, wow! I'm impressed. Simply yet elegant done was my 3-egg Baja omelette. I customized mine adding spinach and a bit of onion & it tasted great with meaty hunks of bacon & ample healthy-fat avocado & oozing cheese. The hash browns were perfect, although I could taste a hint of grease, they were just as clean & perfectly outside crispy as should be. If one likes them crispier, don't forget to order them well done. Customers of all types and ages frequenting & several getting to-go kept it busy which means the locals have trusted and often seen Eggceptional as its namesake, an exceptional choice for breakfast on a normal Friday morning. Being from out of town visiting & happening upon this place, I'm pleasantly surprised at the dependability and friendliness of this hidden spot. Anybody would feel welcome and walk away full. Lastly, for the overdone cinnamon roll which I was excited to take-away & then bummed as it is my very first one. I usually prefer a softer middle selection with more cinnamon on top. And the hot sauce bottles needed cleaning badly. If this cafe is going to be exceptional, they need to think about upping the ante by tapping into the local farmer's market for local jams & honey, don't settle for the cheap don't-know-how-old plain jelly packets (ugh). I don't drink coffee, but I hear how good it was! They offer lunch selections as well. Thanks y'all & come to this place happy only to leave happier after breakfast! Went with a friend. It was close to where I took my car for maintenance. It was just okay. This is the problem for me IF YOUR BACON IS NOT GOOD, I'M NOT COMING BACK! They were not organized so our food sat in the window a very long time (we saw it) and my eggs were not scrambled in my loaded bowl (I did not request this) so the combination of cold over easy eggs was not pleasant. First time here. This is an adventure being in Oklahoma for a while. I like the name of this place because it's kind of a play on words. And everybody in here that works here speaks Spanish to each other which is a little bit difficult for me but on the other hand it reminds me of where I go all the time down in Cantu and Punta Banda below Ensenada. One thing to note if you come they do not have Wi-Fi for their customers. When I came in they said to sit anywhere I wanted which was a good thing and they brought me coffee and water right away which was appreciated. I had my little service dog which they didn't make a box over which I appreciated as well. The menu is pretty diverse as far as getting different choices for your eggs they have breakfast and lunch but I think they focus mainly on breakfast. It's a cute enough place it looks like kind of a diner. But I don't know that I would necessarily go when there are better places in town like Granny's Kitchen which is amazing. read more

We have been going here for a couple of years, mostly for breakfast. The service is a little slow. Seems like a family business. The food is always good. Their cinnamon rolls are wonderful. They are always served warm with icing and chopped pecans. Their healthy bowls are one of my favorites also with. My mom loves their cinnamon pancakes. We arrived on a Saturday morning around 7:09am and there was only one couple there. An older gentleman brought us our menu and asked what we wanted to drink. We looked over the menu and Ignacio came and took our order. Hubby got the meat lovers bowl with wheat toast. The bowl was delicious but very heavy on potatoes and a little light on the meat. I am not really a breakfast person so I got the chicken fried steak meal with okra and French fries. The chicken fried steak was very lightly breaded and simply delicious. There was not one bit of gristle in it. The okra was fried to perfection and the french fries were great. I did ask for a side of ranch and it would've been better with homemade, but it was fine. The stand out on the plate was the homemade sourdough bread that was toasted to perfection. I loved the bread so much, I asked if they sold it and they do for $7.99 a loaf. The restaurant was spotless and the bathrooms are unisex. For two waters the meat lovers bowl in the country fried steak meal and the bread. The total was $31.97 before tip. read more

Best French toast in town - and I've tried a lot! Everything my husband and I have tried is really good. Eggs and bacon are always good, and they're open to frying bacon crisp upon request.
