We found ourselves in OKC but did not expect the New England Patriots to be playing this late in the season when we booked our tickets. Accordingly, we pivoted from seeing the sights on a Sunday afternoon to looking for a tavern in which to watch the Patriots defeat the Houston Texans. We found the Deep Deuce and had a great afternoon sipping beer, eating pretzel sticks and watching football. Our bartender was great! She checked in on us frequently -- enough to ensure that we could order everything we wanted, but not so much that we felt pressured or rushed. I had a local IPA. I wish I could recall what it was called but I will long recall how flavorful it was! It was a great match for the pretzel sticks (which were served with a tangy cheese sauce). Tonight my wife and I were heading to a Nate Bargatze show and the first question of the night was where do we go for dinner. The Deep Deuce Grill got mentioned and their menu sounded awesome so we made a quick audible to come here. Luckily, we beat the rush and found a seat on the patio. Lunch at Deep Duce Grill (DDG) with a friend. DDG sits in Deep Duce east of downtown. It's a local bar and grill with a strong following. It has a long bar inside and a limited bar outside. The outside area is large and is partially covered. For lunch I ordered a 10 piece boneless wings. For sauces I selected Korean BBQ, Chipotle BBQ, and ranch. The wings were outstanding. I was torn between the El Cubana and the Doc Haywood Dagwood. After talking with my server I went for the Dagwood which is a towering triple decker that lives up to its name. Piled high with layers of savory meats, fresh veggies, and sauce, it was a hearty, satisfying sandwich. The battered fries on the side were crispy, golddn and well seasoned. My wife went for the Lobster Roll. Plump, buttery lobster meat on a perfectly toasted roll. It's the first time she had one and said it was quite tasty. It's a small place seating about 60-80 inside with about a dozen seats at the bar. There is also a large patio which is getting plenty of use with the great November weather here. My girlfriends and I went last Thursday to celebrate a birthday. We had high hopes for a great evening but I'm hoping our waitress was just having an off day. It took a bit before getting waited on, then menus throw down on table and quickly asked what to drink, keep in mind this was our first time here so we wanted a minute to look over the menus but after two ladies said water, the waitress assumed and said 4 waters, got it and took off. When food arrived only three dishes came out with the birthday girl's arriving about 5 minutes later. We were not asked how we wanted the bill split, again waitress assumed. I'll just say if you are looking for a place to sit inside and visit, I would pass since music is loud. It's not immediately clear that this restaurant does not have hosts. Your goal is to find an available table and swoop in like an eager vulture. Based on the crowds, I felt lucky to have procured a table, though reserved my enthusiasm because a 6-top also sat down during this time. We all know what this means: competition for the server's attention. All of this anxiety provoking premeditation was unnecessary, as the server was fantastic! Detail oriented, professional, and fast. Visited here for the first time this past Sunday. The restaurant was about an 8 mins walk from the SpringHill Suites hotel where I was staying. It was super crowded due to the basketball game. So there were no seats. I was told it is self seating and first come first serve. The staff were really kind and helpful. I ordered the lobster roll with red beans and rice as the side. The lobster roll was different than those that I've had in the past. It was more like lobster salad on a roll. The red beans and rice was also a little different than what I am used to. The sound level wasn't that loud considering all the people in there. There were also a few tv's over the bar to watch some sports. Also, they are not boneless wings, they are chicken strips. In my opinion, they should be labeled as such. They are good though. We never waited for refills, the service was great! It was Halloween and the staff was dressed up, so they were having a great time. This place was a go-to for me and my work buddies when in town. The Happy Hour specials are great - especially for domestic beers. The best thing we ate here - all of us - the Nash chicken. Hot damn is that some delicious chicken! The red chili and Korean flavors are amazing as well - but Nash is where it's at! The fries and tots here are stupid good, also - heads up, though - the standalone orders are monstrous. Two people can easily split a side order of anything. I have stopped at this bar many times with no issue, only reason I come here is to smoke a cigar on the patio. I have even been here the last few days for hours with no issue. But apparently today they had a problem with me and my cigar. With knowledge of the service industry it's not an over night issue. Ambience is always great. Food is usually pretty good, but today it was just passable. The service was lousy for the second time in a row. We ordered drinks (soda) at the beginning of the meal, and my husband requested a lemon with his. Our server brought back our drinks but forgot the lemon. My husband asked for a lemon again, the server took our order and then he never came to our table again. Another server brought our food and saw that our drinks were gone. She asked what we were drinking, we told her, and we never got them. So we had nothing to drink with our meal.
