    Egg Quesadilla Breakfast

Still great and friendly service. I had the egg breakfast quesadilla and it was delicious and really thick with crunchy peppers and tomatoes. Hubs had the 2 egg plate with bacon. Our hash-browns were not as good today. Maybe not cooked long enough. It's still super small and cramped but it's fun.

The food was AMAZING, had trouble picking what I want to eat this morning, one of the new waitresses helped me out and it was the best decision I ever made, meat is cooked to perfection, love the peppers, cheese, sauces and the hash browns as well. The ambiance of the diner is beautiful and old school, I'm a sucker for mom and pop diners, great playlist of music and it felt like an authentic old school diner to come around break and lunch. Would definitely come back here again!

I'll start with the positives: Omelets are delicious, eggs are fluffy, hash browns are crispy and not greasy, biscuits and gravy are tasty although biscuit is a bit dry, coffee is good. Negatives: extremely small space making you feel very cramped, small bathroom, not the cleanest feeling restaurant I've been in, food took a long time to get to the table, NO KIDS MENU, expensive!! Our waitress was great at first. She refilled our coffee's quickly and I was very happy about that. But once the food came, she disappeared and we never saw her again. I don't know if she went home, or was on break, she never communicated with us but we never saw her again and we never got more coffee. This is such a tiny, cramped, hole in the wall diner but they're charging big restaurant prices. For 2 coffees and 2 apple juices we paid $13!!!!!!! I had a create your own omelet and my husband had the brisket hash and ordered a side of biscuits and gravy. We ordered the 2x2x2 with chocolate chip pancakes for our kids to split since there was no kids menu. Our bill came to $53 before tip! For a tiny little hole in the wall diner? Nope. Not paying those prices to be squeezed into a booth feeling like sardines. The omelet was good, but not that good.

I know The Diner is a Norman staple, but I was pretty underwhelmed at my breakfast. All the food was just okay. The hash browns were the best thing in my opinion, and my friend's tamale breakfast was pretty tasty. Maybe I should have ventured out and got something more exciting like the tamale. But, I love biscuits and gravy, so that is usually my go to when I visit a breakfast joint. The gravy here tasted like it was made from a mix and the biscuits seemed like they were mass produced elsewhere, so it was a big miss for me. The positives were that the restaurant was very cute and offered a quintessential diner experience. Our waitress was very friendly and the prices were quite affordable. So it definitely has some good things going for it, but to me, it left a little to be desired.

This place looks like a hole in the wall and it is. It's also a great diner. The name says it simply and that how the food is cooked. I judge a breakfast place on how I order my eggs. If I say over medium and they don't know or look at me funny then I just say over easy and I get over medium. This place knew. Service was great. The decor was dated and old but I like the rustic look. Plus it's in Norman Oklahoma and that's how many places are. The food was really good and felt fresh. Eggs were cooked perfect. The link sausage had that skin that pops when you bite down and was flavorful. The oatmeal was thick. Some people like it more runny or with milk but I enjoyed it. It felt like it coated your ribs. Overall you shouldn't pass through and not get breakfast there. Great place to get a simple home cooked breakfast.

The Diner is a lot smaller than I thought it'd be so be prepared to wait if you go on the weekend. We got lucky and was able to be seated right away. I enjoyed the food and our waiter. I didn't feel like it was anything super extra special but was the food was good.

We had a really awesome waitress and the service was great! The food was just average. Although I will say the biscuits were pretty divine! They were soft and texturally perfect!

Perfect breakfast place. I've lived in Norman my whole life and have heard about this place for years. It's pretty small so any time I've tried to go it's been packed with a long line. The kids woke us up early so we figured this would be perfect timing. Went at 7:30ish and there were plenty of a tables open. It has a cute classic diner atmosphere. Restaurant was clean and all of the staff were wearing masks. The service was great and the waitstaff came by several times to make sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the 2x2x2 and the pancakes were delicious. Eggs and bacon were good too and everything came out piping hot fresh off the griddle. Husband had the chicken fried steak and it was sooo good! I'm definitely getting that next time for myself. The gravy was really good too. My son had the chocolate chip pancake but I stole a few bites myself, yum!

southside burger, bbq sauce too sweet.

The following was our experience at the other one on Constitution and since they are not listed on Yelp for me to review, here is what I sent to corporate: Manager / Owner RE:  Our "attempt at dining" experience tonight What a disaster of an idea to go to your establishment tonight for a burger. We waited forever for someone to notice us after we sat down. Finally a young man came over. We said we were ready to order but he said he was only going to get our drinks. We ordered water in to-go cups and it's a good thing we got them to-go. It was busy so we patiently waited... and waited... and waited.  After about 39 minutes or so a young lady rushed over, apologized, took our order and rushed off to the kitchen. We thought, "Good. Finally!"  I mean, how long does it take to grill a burger, right? Well, we sat there another 30 minutes or more as we watched people come in, be served, pay and leave. Finally, the first young man comes back and informs us that the girl LOST OUR ORDER! How the heck does that even happen? She went  directly to the kitchen when she took it. So he tells us he can resubmit our order and discount our food. We were considering doing that until my husband asked if our food order would take priority and be rushed. He said no, that it would go to the BACK OF THE LINE. Really! He said that.  So we chose to leave (and eat no dinner). When I got home I waited until near closing time, called and asked for the manager (who I figured would be there to pick up the money and close). A young man said he would take a note for him because he was "busy."  So I relayed our experience and guess what? He said that was their company policy or their normal practice to put us at the back of the line. He said all businesses do that.  I'm shocked at the response and lack of customer concern.  Wild way to run a business.  I do know the other Boomarang has never treated us that way in all the years (since 1985) that we have eaten there).

Once upstairs we weren't sure what to, had to ask a waitress that was passing by if we could just sit anywhere. Coffee, tea and water are included with the buffet and are self serve, the cups are the red plastic solo cups but the plates for the buffet are glass. The servers are very friendly and helpful, quick to clear plates, and offer to refill your cups even though it's self serve so that was appreciated. The drinks are outside on the patio, so having to open the door while trying to carry drinks back inside was inconvenient. The bathroom upstairs was clean, my only complaint is the roll of paper towels sitting on the counter that everyone touches to get some, not super hygienic. They should have a dispenser or a stack of folded paper towels. The food was mediocre. Everything was borderline cold except for the omelette station. But the eggs were fairly cold, bacon and sausage barely warm and the bacon was limp and unappealing. They had pancakes already made or you could get a fresh one with blueberries or chocolate chips. My husband took a plain one that was already made and didn't like it, said the bottom was hard. Biscuits and gravy were good, small fruit bowl that didn't get replenished while we were there, and a small assortment of pastries that I avoided because my kids have nut allergies and I couldn't tell what had nuts and what didn't. Over all there were some enjoyable things, but not enough that I'd return for the buffet, especially with it not being hot. Might return for their regular menu.

Great service and atmosphere. Food was uneven in terms of quality…read more My wife and I ate here for the first time with two other couples on a Saturday night. One couple lives in the Norman area and reserved our table. I was excited to try this Norman institution and enjoyed doing a little research in The Oklahoman archives ahead of time to find out more about its history. The dining room reminded me of Cheever's in OKC: close quarters, white background, plenty of extra items hanging everywhere, including wine glasses hanging from wooden racks attached to the ceiling. The menu reminded me of both Cheever's and Charleston's. It leans into a more sophisticated set of flavors, but they're not trying to rock the boat. The list of items on the menu is long enough that everyone in your party can find something that they would like to eat, but it's not overwhelmingly long like the one at the Cheesecake Factory. Another couple ordered the spinach artichoke dip for our table. I had a bite on one of the petite toasts that were served with it. Not bad, but it didn't have the background spiciness or discernible parmesan cheese flavor that I like to taste in spinach artichoke dip. Every entree comes with a salad, and I ordered the blue cheese wedge salad. On the positive side, the wedge of lettuce was icebox cold and crisp. The bits of bacon sprinkled on top added just the right amount of salty and meaty to the salad. On the other hand, their homemade blue cheese dressing did not have as much blue cheese in it as I expected. Not sure if their recipe involves so much mixing that the blue cheese chunks disappear in the process or if they started out with a blue cheese that doesn't break off into chunks. I prefer blue cheese dressing with tang, and this one didn't have it. My entree was one of the specials: miso-mushroom fried chicken thighs. I was enticed by the menu description which mentioned bone-in chicken thighs and local mushrooms in the sauce. I was disappointed that what came to my plate were two boneless chicken thighs. They were wrapped in a crunchy fried coating that I enjoyed, but boneless is not bone-in. The mushroom sauce was tasty, but it didn't match what I imagined in my head. I was expecting whole or halved mushrooms but received little bits of mushrooms. I respect their recipe. It still tasted good, but I would rather sink my teeth into mushrooms when they are called for. The accompanying squash medley was excellent; crisp tender squash added color to the plate and sang out the praises of summer vegetables. The accompanying sour cream mashed potatoes were silky and complemented the chicken well. For dessert, my wife and I tried the chocolate peanut butter pie. It was not what I expected based on past experiences with desserts that go by this name. Usually, this is a chocolate cookie crust with a light peanut butter pudding filling. What we received was a chocolate brownie crust topped with a layer of peanut butter frosting (confectioners sugar + peanut butter), a layer of chocolate syrup, and a few actual peanuts. The peanut butter frosting was much too sweet, there were not enough peanuts to create a crunchy counterpoint, and the chocolate brownie base was almost a crunchy counterpoint by itself because it was so dried out. It helped to eat bites of the pie with the vanilla ice cream next to it, but the manufacturer of this vanilla ice cream put barely any vanilla flavor in it. Our server kept our drink glasses full throughout the evening and answered our menu questions with honesty. Overall, I can see why Legend's has survived for nearly 60 years. I wish them all the best for many more decades as a leader in the Norman restaurant scene.
