This place looks like a quintessential American diner but the food was completely uninspired and bland. Doesn't seem like much to expect for a diner to make real chicken strips instead pre-breaded frozen ones. The philly cheese steak was mostly bread with scant meat and cheese. Onion rings were bad but the okra was good. The waitress was a pleasant young lady and we appreciated her. There is no reason to eat here, the average fast food place will serve you better quality food at the same or cheaper price. read more

Visited 1/22/20 Pickles was a wonderful place to have lunch. We were told about Pickles by a local person that lives in Moore, and we were not dissapointed. Service was very quick and out server was nice. I ordered the country fried steak with fried okra, and mashed potatoes. All the food brought to our table of six came out piping hot, the cf steak was huge, crispy and delicious. The fried okra was nicely breaded, and the mashed potatos tasted fresh, both were very tasty. Sweet tea that was served hit the spot. Best American Diner in Moore by far. It's NOT overly fancy or overly dingy like Waffle House. Its right in the middle like a good old fashion diner should be. We've come here for breakfast a couple of times and it's been D-Lish! I get chicken fried chicken, eggs, a pancake, and biscuits and gravy for $11. Cooked to perfection. It's enough food for 2 meals or could be split between 2 people. Come for breakfast and you will not leave hungry or disappointed. My new favorite spot in Moore for breakfast/brunch. read more

Big big portions of good home cookin. Eggs fried near perfect, hashbrowns crispy on top and light and fluffy on the bottom, Crispy bacon. The only downside was the fried pickles.... Are used to come in a big basket but I think we got six or seven skinny skinny skinny little pickle strips. Not worth the seven dollars we paid. read more

Yea was sour, food was bad, the flies were horrible when we got our food, and the wait staff was extremely slow where you had to leave the table to get anything you needed. We had the Country fried "steak" that was mostly breading that looked like pancake batter. Never again. read more

The waitress was friendly but even with only a few other people there, we were asking for refills on drinks. I got the bacon, avocado, ranch sandwich (pictured). It had no ranch and no bacon-- as you can see the avocado was sad. I asked for ranch but by the time we realized there wasn't bacon on it, I had taken a couple of bites. Out of 4 bites, 3 were grisley and unchewable. So I left it as the picture in number 2. Disgusting. Thankfully I had ordered extra of the breakfast stuff for our child so I got to eat his extras. Next time we will go to ihop or jimmy's egg and it'll likely be less than the $35 we spent ($10 of which wasn't even edible). The fried pickles were good though. This restaurant has reasonably priced items that usually taste great. The service is usually good. It's a good place for the family.

Someone gave us a gift card for Pickle's in Moore, OK. We live in south Florida but are traveling through Oklahoma and decided to finally use that gift card.I looked it up online and it shows that there is a $50 balance on the card. On the back of the card it says "this card does not expire." When we tried to pay for our meal, the server brought the gift card back and said the manager told him they do not take this particular gift card. The gift card is ONLY for Pickle's and it even has their address and phone number on the front of the card. My husband asked to speak to the manager and she told us that she was told by the owner not to take the cards. So we called the owner since he wasn't on location. He told my husband they quit taking the cards and they were never sold for more than $20, which is not what the website told us. They went back and forth and finally the owner said he would take $20 off our meal but that was it. Upon looking it up on-line again and seeing that the balance was $50, we called the gift card company to see what was up. They told us there was a $50 balance on the card but that the restaurant had quit using the cards two years ago. I asked if they could transfer the balance to a different restaurant and was told they couldn't do that because it was the restaurant who got the $50, not the gift card company. So this restaurant took the $50 used to purchase this card but only gave us $20 for it, thus stiffing us for the other $30. They should be ashamed of themselves and we will certainly never go to this restaurant again and will encourage everyone we know not to go either. read more

We stopped for lunch on way home (Frisco Texas) from the holiday with family up north. The food was absolutely delicious, and Cathy, our server, was pleasant and attentive. She frequently came by to fill our coffee cups and water glasses. Most important, the restrooms were spotless! I think you could have eaten on the tile floor . . . even my husband agreed and he is very fussy. We make this trip several times a year and this will definitely be our stop for a meal in Oklahoma City. We usually go to Pickles for Breakfast which is always excellent. Today we went for lunch, my husband had the special for Friday the ribeye dinner. He said it was really good. I had the special 1/3 pd hamburger with fries. It had a homemade bun and the Hamburg was fresh not frozen. Was delicious. The staff is always so nice and never leaves us hanging on drinks, always checking on us to see if we need anything. We will be going back for more lunches not just breakfast! read more

Pickles is a very old school dinner kinda place with a typical menu to go with it. Food met expectations for a dinner, but nothing really stood out to me during my brunch meet. Service was friendly but came around only for our order and for the ticket. The table and booths were kinda dirty. I believe a lot of their problems can be attributed to a small staff. read more

We had the meatloaf and catfish dinners. The meatloaf was ok, but the catfish was another story. It must've been deep fried for 40 seconds because the inside was mushy and milky. I didn't take it back because we had a meeting at church, so I just threw it. Either it wasn't fully cooked OR they gave me a filet of fat only. That's how gross this was. This was exactly what we needed exactly when we needed to find what we needed. My mother and I spent our morning at the Museum of Osteology, and needed to put some meat on our bones. (Sorry, could not resist!) we asked the staff for a recommendation and they sent us to Pickles. I never would have discovered this restaurant otherwise. Pickles is a nostalgic throwback to the 80's. Dark wood paneling and potted plants abound, and the menu stops just short of including tuna salad on a bed of lettuce. Too bad, too, because the moment my mother stepped through the door she began to crave tuna salad. I bet it was good when (not if!) they had it on the menu. My mother ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich with the bread on the side, as she steers clear of carbs. Her meat was tender and slathered in a mildly spicy sauce, all under a layer of cheese. Just right. I ordered the catfish, which was expertly fried in a cornmeal batter. It arrived with fries, coleslaw, AND hush puppies. A huge amount of food that I could have shared. The coating came off cleanly, leaving me with tender flakes of fish, so I ate that along with the very tasty hush puppies. The highlight of the meal was the fried dill pickle spears. Again, the cornmeal batter was just right, and the frying time was perfect. They arrived at our table hot and tart. It is important to have your signature dish be a stand out, and Pickles has had time to perfect this dish. read more

Even though the food we have had there is usually pretty good, I am distraught to have to write about their lack of COVID precautions. We just ate there and there was a table to six and none wore a mask out of the restaurant or seemed to care as they walked by. The waitress serving us had her mask below her nose the entire time and was pulling it down and up with the same hand she used to carry our plates. I witnessed another waitress taking a "cash tip" off the table where the maskless diners sat, using her bare hands. While we were there another diner entered without a mask. There were no signs on the doors specifying that masks were required and there was no hand sanitizes at or near the front of the restaurant. Evidently Pickles did not get the message about a raging COVID-19 virus and the risk to diners of contracting or transmitting the virus in a restaurant setting. I cannot recommend going there if you have any concern about contracting COVID, or generally care about your health and the health of others. They just are not careful regarding the health of their diners. read more

Food is so-so. Too much salt on my beef tips for my liking. The catfish was alright. The breading was crispy but the fish itself was mushy. Prices are decent for what you get. Waitstaff is something to be desired. Not very attentive and made us feel unwanted. Like we were a nuisance for being there. I would recommend trying them at least once. I've eaten here before with good food and service. Today wasn't one of those days. My eggs were supposed to be over medium and missed the mark along with the burned and cold hashbrowns. The pancake was burned on one side and not done on the other. The wait staff even discounted my breakfast.
