The service at Leslies has gone down to the point that I wlll no longer be recommending this company to any of my clients. I purchased a spa pool pump and had them install in January of 2022 at my elderly mother's home. Fast forward she passed and the spa was only recently used with our tenants. The whole Polaris system failed after little use. I tried calling Leslie's customer service that seems farmed out to a call center where they spend a lot of time asking and restating my problems and instead of telling me the item was out of warranty. They offered a manufacturer phone number where i am put in a cue that lasted for nearly 2 hours--only at the end to be cut off from the call. I choose to go to the local store where the store employee tells me the bad news. No warranty! I tell her that is unsatisfactory because people in the pool industry know during covid the Polaris production of these pumps had major problems. She calls up a manager and that manager tells her to call an area manager. This manager tells me that its out of warranty and all they can do is come out and sell me a new one. I paid over $700 for it in 2022--used it once and it failed and now it is over $900 to get the same item. I explain that the pump was only just recently used for the first time and could they intercede with the manufacturer on my behalf to which he replies a resounding "No." Such a poor response from a company that use to care. I will make sure to not use Leslie's going forward at any of my properties and I will tell every client I have that has or is thinking about getting new pool equipment or any repair or service to NEVER use a company that doesn't value their customers. read more

They have what you need in the store, sometimes. But the employees are not helpful at all and at times rude.

They are trying, but when you call they will tell you they have the part you need and when you get there they don't have it. It's so frustrating because it happens a lot. They need to be honest. Getting us there does not mean we will be happy to spend money when you didn't tell the truth. read more

It depends who is in this store to service your need. I highly recommend Kevin. He's very knowledgeable and provides useful and credible information. When he's not deluged with customers, he'll spend time with you and explain the pool chemistry issues. If all the store people were like him, I'd give this location in Livermore a five star rating. It's four, because I try to be in the store when Kevin is there. If he weren't there I'd give it a two star. The store is good for pool supplies. It's good for pool water testing. But the staff advice is questionable. I listen to them and do my own research. The only one I'd listen to is Kevin. read more

My Polaris 360 pool cleaner wasn't moving so we took it apart. In doing so, the very brittle top housing came apart and we noticed the belt was broken. We called and spoke to Isaac and he was extremely helpful and professional. He stated he had an extra top housing that he would swap out for us at no charge. The next day we took in our Polaris 360 and Isaac replaced all necessary parts within 24 hours. He exchanged the top housing part at no charge and he even swapped out the base too. A new top and base assembly is about $75. My better half is great at fixing things around the house but I'm so grateful that he left it in the hands of our "local" pool store. I was trying to order a pool heater. Husband called, spoke with a good rep, got info he needed, and was told to come in. We came in, spent a solid hour in there with a snide employee. Said he couldn't find it, but took our info and would call later. I gave them a few weeks, called back and literally the employee that answered told me to call any other pool store, or Leslie's location because this location is so poorly run, I'll never get a response or callback. We just remodeled our pool and used Leslie's pool to help get our pools' start up procedure right. They are very cognizant of all the requirements of the 7 day start - and actually double checked the paperwork from the remodel company *as sometimes companies have little variations on how they want the start up done. They walked us through everything and helped me understand what chemicals I was putting into my pool and why. Never did I feel pressure to purchase anything and I love Genell's philosophy of 'less is more' - "we can always add more to get to the levels where they need to be". Wow...I'm so happy I came to Leslie Pool in Livermore and met Jon today! I bought a new home which had a pool that I had not anticipated on ever owning one. Didn't know where to begin, how to maintain it, was fearful of the cost involved in owning and maintaining a pool and Jon made me feel so much better. I actually feel excited about having the pool after talking to him! He told me he would help me maintain the pool. Gave me options to which pool cleaner would work for me and he basically is the guru of swimming pool and spas. Best of all was his genuine customer service he provided to me. It's been along time since I receive that type of professional customer service from any sales person. It was refreshing and I feel blessed to walk into Leslie Pool and met Jon. So disappointed in the lack of customer service from the Livermore Leslie Pool store. We purchased 4 pool filters which totaled $320 ($84 each). Later that day my wife found them online at 4 stores including Amazon, Walmart and pool supplies for $129 (4 pack), same brand & model. I felt so ripped off from Leslie's Pool. My fault for not shopping better. Went back to ask the Manager and Assistant Manager for some type of refund and they denied any assistance. In today's times, with COVID-19 where so many companies are closing their businesses forever, you'd think Leslie's Pool would reconsider this type of situation. 30+ years of shopping there and we won't return. read more

Ordered a pool pump which took an hour to do...(another story) a day later got charged for 2 pumps???? I called and questioned what happened was told they would take care of second charge. Suppose to be delivered today went in and no pump....seems someone????? cancelled the order...whoever someone is and they wiped out my entire profile so they can't even confirm that I ordered. Holy-guacamole high prices on many items. We usually purchase pool stuff online, yet when in a pinch for a repair pool thingy or chemicals, we sometimes go to Leslie's. Other times we go to Valley Pool Center on Railroad Avenue in Livermore, yet VPC's hours are more limited. We did visit Leslie's recently to purchase a couple items and did spend considerable moola there. All was hunky-dory until midway through the transaction, the employee stopped helping us to read and reply to a text message on his cell phone. O M G! WTF- can't people leave those silly little techie things alone... especially while helping a customer?! read more

I've been to Leslie's several times to buy stuff, and to get my water tested. The testor was knowledgable, and as mentioned below, did not try to sell me a lot of stuff I didn't need, just the basics. I've needed parts replacements, and they fetch stuff for me real quick from the back. I suppose the prices may be higher, but I only need to go there once, maybe twice a year, and I'm happy to go where they know what they're talking about. read more

Contrary to Geoffrey's review last month, I arrived at Leslie's Pool Supplies about fifteen minutes before they closed (7pm weekdays!), looking to get my newly-set up, Big Lots blowout above ground pool properly chemically-laden to avoid it turning into a giant green mosquito Studio 54. Dave was courteous, patient, and didn't try to upsell me a whole lot of unnecessary accoutrements. Prices seemed a tad high, but they claim to price match, and it's a specialty store - I went there to talk to someone about what was necessary, not a random Home Depot or Target drone. I'm simply calling to see if they have any more primer In stock so I can drive from Tracy to pick it up and his answer is "uhhhh I'm really not sure, you can swing by and look if your want" ok it's not exactly a drop in to see from Tracy so I ask him " do you think you could check before I drive down?'' He says "uhhhhh yeah I guess hold on" comes back to the phone and says "I really can't tell, I would have to look through boxes to see" what kind of help is this? Just moved to Livermore and needed to figure out my pool filter so I could replace the cartridge. Problem was my filter is ancient. They took the time to help find it in a catalog when it was so old it wouldn't come up in the computer. The took the time to write down the information and even the page number in case I needed to go back. I got lucky and didn't need to replace the o-ring but when I do I'll be back. 4 stars due to price. You can find things cheaper online but when you need some help or want to support a local business this is the spot to go. read more

After spending close to $1500 on a pool fence, I went in today to pick it up. I was greeted by a young man who loaded it up in the cart and took out to our car parked near the entrance to the store. I opened up the back of the cart and he proceeded in putting in the fence in the back of my car. The fence consisted of about 13 boxes. About half way through he said: These aren't that heavy. I said: Do you want us to help you (I was with my almost 70 year old father who can't really lift)? He said: Isn't it obvious. I said: All you have to do is ask. He said: Isn't ' it common courtesy? Isn't it obvious I have to watch the front of the store (NO it isn't- how would I know you are alone?) My dad said: (joking) We aren't courteous people. He said: You must be from Livermore. No one is courteous from Livermore. At the end he left us with the large gate that we had to struggle to get in the car. No thank you, goodbye... just left like he was mad at us for bothering him. What did we do wrong? This conversation was completely unprovoked. I was just picking up a product that I spent a lot of money on and a lot of store load items in a car all the time. If he couldn't leave... just say so. No need to be rude, disrespectful, embarrassing, and humiliating. Why disrespect me for living in Livermore? What make me feel bad for not helping when I had no clue I was supposed too? I have tried to return to this store for many years. But the employees have ranged from rude to condescending. Every time I come here to get my water sampled it takes at least 30 minutes, there's often only 1 person in front of me. Terrible customer service. I'll stick with the other pool shops who take care of me in 5 minutes. When we brought our Polaris vacuum here to be serviced they let it sit for a couple days until I called and asked for a status update - they told me they didn't know yet because they didn't know how to run the diagnostic tests! read more

Hours are posted here and it states they are open. I get to store 45 minutes after opening time, door locked and no one in sight. Hours posted on door at the store also say 9:00am for Saturday. I wait 15 minutes hoping the Saturday hours maybe changes and are the same as Sunday which is 10 am, but nope. Still no one here. Extremely frustrating! read more

I have an above ground pool which I have having issues setting up with a larger sand filter pump. The oddities involved with pool parts made the setup difficult at best. I came down to the local Leslie Pool Supply store and met the manager Jon. My previous visits were nominal with the last manager. Jon not only assisted me with finding the right parts but also with keeping the water in check on a weekly basis. Not failing to mention they keep my spa water at the right levels too. Jon and his employee Louie are a great combo at this store. They're both helpful and gracious each time I walk in the door. With their competence and confidence I'll be a returning and loyal customer for sure! read more
