I really enjoyed my visits here at this store. I'm fairly new when it comes to pool maintenance, but the people who work here are so friendly and knowledgeable, they have answered all my questions and gave me a lot of good feed back. I do really like this poola hoops it's going to be the perfect Christmas present . Everyone will have a lot of fun using this especially during the summer time family gatherings. This place is terrible! Customer service? Awful! I was just in there. I asked where a product was and the lady behind the counter says "it's there." Doesn't walk back there to show me. Continues talking to another lady as I'm at the register. I asked if we could hurry it up. She got snippy and said she still helping her other customer. I left. Rude! If that's not enough, this place only wants to sell you chemicals. They do not want to fix the problem with your pool. Trust me. I went in there for two years and my pool remained green. I went to a different place and they educated me.they told me to use a broom to sweep the bottom of the pool daily. That was two years ago. I've not had a problem since. Finally was able to go into a Leslie's Pool Supply to purchase Chlorinated Granules for our spa and eight when we entered, the older lady working at the counter hounded me with a thousand questions. All I asked was where I can find the Chlorinated Granules, then I was asked how big and what size my pool or spa was, the dimensions, depth and all sorts of nin-sense. Crazy! Almost just walked out, but needed a small container. Note: if a person asks where a certain, exact item is located and if that customer needs help, then answer the questions. Several times I have called to inquire about price and availability for a solar pool cover and have been told that she doesn't know, but will find out and call me back. This never did happen. Finally I recently called again and got an answer. They have no 20x40 pool covers and cannot order them. So I went to an independent within 2 miles in Clayton and they have them in stock and the price is very reasonable. read more

Customer service is terrible at this location. Older woman was rude from initial contact. She was helping another woman with a complicated question, and she left myself and a second customer waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. After I chose less volume of the product than she recommended, she was dismissive of my choice, asking, "You don't want the bigger one?". Upon checking out, she handed me a receipt without thanking me for a $250 purchase. Note to customers: If you purchase any chemicals from Leslie's, they won't allow a return. This place has been a nightmare. We just purchased a home with a pool and hot tub. We are newbies but the pool was being serviced by someone until the end of June. So we went here to test our water and try to make sure everything is where it needs to be and so on. Anyways the issues where do I even start? The are under staffed and sometimes you wait a hour to get water tested. One time it was taking so long they said they would get to it soon, sent us home, and called us later. They never got to test and it sat to long. I had to bring it back. So I did and the woman became flustered and started putting my hot tub water as my pool and it got all messed up. So again we didn't test our water. I felt so bad for her and she cried and broke my heart even more. I have been overcharged for items, not just 1 item but 4. I should of checked my receipts better before. I was told by one employee to buy this and add this. I go back a week later someone else says no, you need this. Keep getting water tested. It says drain the pool. I was told I could get measurements of my pool and they could calculate the size for gallons. I came back with measurements and the manager was not able to do it. She told me I would have to spent the entire summer adding things to my pool and another employee said it should be just a 1 time treatment. The manager does not seem to know about pools. I have seen 2-3 woman that work there and a man. I feel after going so many times in 1 month a little longer now that Steph is the only person that is helpful and understanding. It seems a lot busier when she is working there too. Reported to district manager months ago all these issues and nothing changed. We do everything besides buy chemicals their for our selves. read more

Took my polaris pool sweep into the store for a repair. The wheels stopped moving. They told me I needed new drive and wheel bearings. They called a few days later said it was all fixed. Connected it back to the pool turned on the pump and the wheels didn't turn. Took it back to the store and was told they have no way to test it so there was nothing else they could do. No offer of a refund. Why do you work on equipment if you have no way to test. After doing research found out it was a clogged waterline that runs the wheels. I cleared the line and the wheels are back working. This was a simple fix and it never needed the bearings. I will never go back to this store. read more

I went into the concord store 3 weeks ago to buy a replacement filter for my hot tub and was told the filter i need is in another store and if I paid for it they would have it shipped to the concord store in a few days. After multiple calls over the last 3 weeks and being told it was on a truck this week I decided to go to the store it find out what is going on. They clame to have no record of my purchase and that whoever told me it was on a truck to be delivered was lying to me. I refuse to do business with a store that has employees lying to customers. I understand with everything going on in the world that things may take longer but be truthful with your customers please. This store has now lost all of my business and I would suggest that if they are lying to you that you quit doing business with them. Purchased a pool pump a few years ago from Leslie's pools. Something wasn't working very well so I called them and they came out. They needed to order a part. Part was ordered at the beginning of February. By the 3rd week in March with no follow up I called them. They said the parts were in so I scheduled an appt for 3/28. They didn't show up or call. Had to leave a few days later for vacation so we didn't get to call them Immediately but when I finally did, I have to wait a week and half for an appointment. Not sure what's going on but not very happy with their service at this point. read more

I left a one star review yesterday about a pool light that I bought from Leslie's. I'm actually changing my review from one star to five star because of two things: 1) it appears to be the light has some kind of safety shutoff. Yesterday I turned on and it flashed and it never turned back one again yesterday. Today, I tried it today and it turned on. Unless it breaks later on (didn't leave on for more than 30 seconds) it is working now and I love the colors. 2) Leslie's the timely response to my one star review was impressive which means they care about customer experience. This place is always super clean and nice which I appreciate and the people that work here are friendly... I just feel that the price is here so high. Very convenient and nothing wrong with this place at all. Just wish the prices were so high... Although I haven't really shopped around due to the fact that this location is right near where I work so it makes it easy for me to just grab stuff for my spa when needed. I ahd a great experience at Leslie's in Concord this weekend. We bought a place w/ a spa and I have no idea how to take care of it. The previous owner left instructions to take one of their testing sample bottles and get the water tested. From there, Leslie's gives you a full report and gives you an instruction sheet that provides you the procedures on what to do to address the issues w/ the water. Big thanks to Nic, Conner, and then Bo for helping me (esp Nic). Each of the guys were changing shifts, but made sure each person knew what was going on and what I needed. GREAT service! I got all I needed from Leslies yesterday and I'm planning to remain a customer. read more

Conner did an excellent job taking care of me. His technical knowledge is on point, the way he explains stuff to me was in a way that I could understand, and he is a personable. The only down side is that like many other "corporate places," they are tight on staff with often Conner by himself...totally NOT how you build sells...but obviously that probably comes from the district manager who knows crap about "building sells" through superior service (through adequate staff) and would rather cut bottom line numbers. Had to visit the store in person & was told (by Mgr) they were waiting for authorization to repair.. can't get authorization if ya don't call your customer. When I picked up the equipment I put the prior issues aside but the manager (who I'd dealt with on my prior visit) copped attitude. Spend your $ and your valuable time elsewhere. read more

I've been a regular customer at this Leslie's location for a few years. I only come here any more because it's convenient. I know I can get things cheaper elsewhere. One of the main things that kept me coming back was the friendly service. That is until I ran into the store manager, Cory. This joker is full of bad advice and misinformation. Take anything he tells you with a grain of salt. Also, it's best to generally mistrust water testing done by pool stores. Get a little kit and test the water yourself, you will have better and more trustworthy results. My latest experience was purchasing a new pool pump. I got a flier in the mail for 20% off an item and decided to take advantage of that bargain. They immidiately tried to sell me a single speed 1 horsepower pump to replace my 3/4 HP pump. This would have violated title 20 laws, and would not be up to code. In fact they even admitted that it's illegal to be selling this type of pump in the state. Not only that, but large capacity pumps require larger plumbing. If I had installed that pump it would have cavitated and burned out very fast due to my standard 1 1/2 inch pipe not allowing enough waterflow. What I ended up with instead is almost no better. I got a 3/4 HP replacement which is legal but also indicated in the manual required minimum 2" plumbing. The manager called some unkown person on the phone and they both insisted this was the correct pump. Now the thing you have to remember about modern pool pumps is they are more efficient, and you dont need as large of a pump to do the job. The correct pump for my appication would have been 1/2 HP. But I did not know that until after the pump was installed and I called Hayward (the manufacturer) directly. Finally I was going to buy an in-line chlorinator and the manager does not know the difference bewteen an in-line and an off-line chlorinator. He insisted the one i had chosen was off-line even though it had inline fittings and said inline right on the label. What a bonehead. Well the chlorinator turned out to have missing parts and he wanted full price of 97 dollars for it. I can get the same one on-line for 59.00 with all the parts, brand new in box. No offer to make the price right with thier 120% price guarantee, so I will buy it elsewhere. I truly hope this pump does not fail, I would hate to deal with these folks in a warranty situation. read more

I am so grateful that this store hired a new manager. The new manager Conner Cruise is a blessing to all pool owners. Because of Conner and his team, we can get into our pool with our 4-year old daughter and not have to worry if it is safe. Conner's chemistry background and pool knowledge is amazing. It is only surpassed by his ability to communicate that information to someone who is inexperienced in swimming pool maintenance, (ME). Even when it is busy at the store, Conner and his team are patient. They take their time with each customer to make sure they understand the customers situations and goals. After testing the pool water, they suggest the best ways of correcting any problems. I am thankful to Conner for coaching me through the process of achieving a crystal blue swimming pool with no more outbreaks of algae. He has instilled the confidence in my own ability to maintain my pool using Leslie's products. He has earned a loyal customer. Thanks! read more

My experience at this store with the girl who works there yesterday, 6/10/20 around 12:00, was extremely disappointing. She was unfriendly, unhelpful and just plain rude. I went in to purchase kick boards for my granddaughters and did need some advice, but didn't get anything but surly attitude. I will never again frequent or purchase anything from this store. Came to grab some power powder bc I was in the area. First off, the store could definitely use a retrofit, it looks like a picture out of an early 2000s pool store catalog covered in dust. Another horrible experience. I swore I would stop going to this place. Today is the final time. I went to purchase a quart of algicide for which I had a coupon for five dollars off. I left the coupon at home (totally my fault). I told the store manager I left my coupon at home and didn't wanna go home to get it. I asked if he would still honor it and give me the five dollars off. He said no (his right). Any good business would say yes in order to retain a good customer relationship. Needless to say. 'John' at the Clayton Road store won't do it if the mail order is a sale price. I went into the store wanting to buy a half gallon of algie control which was shelf priced at $49.99 but the on line price was $12.50 less. John said he would match a on line regular price but not a coupon or sale price....OK, I went home and ordered the product with free shipping. Some brick and mortar stores have gone under because of discounting on line competition. Seems a little odd that the same company will sell you the same product for less thru mail order and cut out the retail store (hope it's not a Franchise.) read more

Worst customer service ever! Bought a leaf trap from this location 3 months ago and the O-ring sliced in half while opening the canister because of the poor construction of the canister from the brand that they carry. They do not stock this O-ring and said that I would need to go to the manufacturer and try and get it. Most companies would try to get this for you since I paid around $100 for this product. The store manager was no help at all as she is the one I was dealing with. Been coming here for a while and they have lost all my business and respect. read more

Never great service but today pushed me over the top. Came in for a water test and to buy a solar cover. Two people working and the store was empty. The one associate handed me over to John. Not sure why. John began to test my water and the phone rang. Instead of letting the other guy take the call he took it while I waited and looked at the other guy. After the call he started to test my water again. One person came into the store and John and the other guy began to help him. That's when I was done. Recently I purchased a bottle of pool chemicals I thought I needed to clear up my cloudy pool. It turned out I did not need this specific chemical so I went back to the store to return it. I did not realize the store has a policy that does not allow returns on chemicals, which, if I looked I would have seen was printed on my receipt. When this was explained to me the employees immediately offered to refund me, but said they could not take the chemical back into the store and told me to keep it. So, I walked out of the store with my cash returned and the bottle of chemicals. This was not expected and I was very impressed with the quality of customer service I received.
