We visited this restaurant for the first time two days ago. They have a beautiful outside dining area and a live band which was amazing. Our server Mike was one of the most professional servers I have experienced at a restaurant. Our drinks stayed full, he set us up for our meal, kept us clean, and was quite charming. The food was amazing! That is coming from a first generation Italian so I am kind of particular about my Italian food. Would recommend and we will be back. Lastly, it is BYOB but there is an excellent wine shop right down the block that delivers but we just picked it up on the way there. Great food, ambience, and staff. Do it! read more

Live music with a great patio area and solid food, results in a fin night out in Montclair. Service was outstanding, which isn't always true nowadays, with the food being very solid. We started with a fantastic app of Asian inspired calamari, crispy, sweet, with a touch of ginger , they were the star of the meal. The chicken vodka parm was really good, crispy, perfectly thin cutlet, but I thought the vodka sauce was a little underwhelming. read more

The music is so loud that it makes it impossible to enjoy the food. I used to enjoy coming here when they played music at a reasonable volume. It's impossible to have have a conversation here because you can't hear anything anyone is saying to you. read more

Leone's offers a genuinely pleasant and casual atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed Friday. The BYOB a great bonus. we had excellent service on a busy Friday night. . A solo singer was a real highlight, providing fantastic entertainment. The entertainment really made the night despite a disappointing menu . The real drawback was the food's inconsistency; while the meatball appetizer was superb, the chicken dishes disappointed, and the pizza was just okay. Leone's often has live entertainment enhances the experience and atmosphere, which more than makes up for the lack of culinary disappointments. A fairly good value very reasonably priced. read more

Leone's has completely lost the plot when it comes to live music. What should be a restaurant where people can sit down, eat, and have a conversation has turned into an incredibly loud music venue with tables. The volume is obnoxious and completely incompatible with dining. You cannot have a normal conversation. You cannot relax. You cannot enjoy a meal without the music dominating every second of the experience. And the worst part? The music itself is awful! It isn't merely too loud; it is genuinely unpleasant to listen to. Yet diners are subjected to it for hours at a time, whether they came to hear a band or not. There is something seriously wrong with imposing hours of excessively loud, poor-quality music on an entire restaurant full of people who came to have dinner. Customers should not have to shout across the table to communicate or endure a performance they never asked to hear. At this point, Leone's feels less like a restaurant with live music and more like a concert venue that happens to serve food. If you are considering Leone's for dinner, I would avoid it in the summer months as the music seems to be there almost every night for hours on end. Unless your idea of a nice meal is paying restaurant prices while having your conversation drowned out by hours of painfully loud music, you will regret it. I would give this place zero stars if I could. The live music doesn't enhance the experience; it destroys it. It's a total circus here. read more

As a Montclair local, I genuinely don't understand what Leone's is trying to accomplish with the unbelievably loud music. I'm clearly not alone as other reviewers have complained that the volume makes it difficult to even have a conversation at the table. There's a big difference between creating an atmosphere and making dinner unpleasant. Myself and other locals included are not impressed with the food - it makes the experience hard to justify. Montclair has so many great restaurants where you can actually enjoy your food and the people you're with and I wish Leone's would simply turn that live music amp way down. read more

Dined here last evening with my family. We were anticipating hearing Ms. Jackie perform live. Due to parking (of course) we were a little delayed. We were greeted and sat promptly. Great! Took a while before anyone returned with water or anything. We had bottles of wine, weren't offered a bucket to keep them cold until l asked. Our starter was calamari, I wasn't impressed at all. Soggy, bland very underwhelming wouldn't order again. Shrimp scampi was awful, it was sent back twice! First appearance the entire dish was cold. Second time the asparagus were terrible, not nice bright green. Like they were boiled maybe? We swapped it out for a pizza. Overall, would return with mindfulness of the menu. read more

They're very good! The food was amazing. I have to say it is also a great place if you love live music.

The food the right amount. And very tasty. The service was a bit on the slow side, no complaints. It was nice to slow down. The live music was nice. The place can get a bit loud, but again, not a complaint. Just a statement. read more

My husband and I stopped by for dinner before a concert in the area. We ordered the coconut shrimp. We also ordered the buffalo chicken and pepperoni pizza to share. We enjoyed our meal. The coconut shrimp were huge. Both pizzas were tasty! Our appetizer and pizzas came out at the same time. I wish the coconut shrimp would have been brought out first. Overall we had a good experience. I would return. read more

My son and I stumbled upon this restaurant and wow! It is a bit of an old Italian traditional looking restaurant, I would say family owned. The menu selections were good, lots to choose from, pastas, pizzas and other Italian dishes. The waiter was nice and we pretty much didn't wait for long for anything. The pizza was tasty and we definitely will be back to try other items on the menu! read more

Leone's is definitely one of my favorite pizza spots in Montclair. Their regular pies/slices are great. I recently transitioned to being Gluten Free & I saw that they offered GF pies! The downside is that GF pies ONLY come in 12inches, so this is a much smaller size (personal pie) and the crust is veryy thin. I got the pesto pizza and it was phenomenal! They also do have a great variety of items on their menu. While I can't speak to the rest of their dishes, I know the pizza is great for sure :) read more

Hosted a party for 20+ and we had a fantastic experience! Great authentic Italian food. The owner even went out of his way to find us artichokes off season so we can have delicious stuffed artichokes!! We had a large private room to host our party and very nice attentive service. I think this place is the best value for your money in the montclair area. I highly recommend this place for large parties and also small parties for delicious Italian food! read more

Had a late lunch outside on a beautiful, mild summer day, so the ambiance was near-perfect. I ate Chicken Francaise, which was light and lemony. My wife loved it too and said it was like what her grandfather used to make. She had cheese ziti pizza, which is... apparently something they do in the NY/NJ. It was quite tasty. The peach salad was fresh with the proper amount of dressing (plenty but not too much). The staff was friendly and the manager was stopping by talking to everyone and making sure all were well taken care of. read more

I don't recommend. The place was empty on a warm sunny Sunday. I decided to give them a chance. The waitress mixed up our order. I asked her to correct but manager who did not even come to talk to me said no. I ended up having to pay for a dish I did not want or have to deal with police. I am disputing the chargers. The food was also poor. Now I know why the place is empty despite the good location. I don't know how these people stay in business. read more

Let me start by saying Terry is the best waitress we have ever had. We have dined in and ordered but this time we were outside, which was nice--I love this town. We always tried to get their Pappardelle special but for some reason they never had the pasta ready. Eventually they took it off. Anyway, we mentioned this and Terry was able to get it for us. Also at the time there was no Shrimp Parm on the menu and she made it happen!!! My son had pepperoni pizza and fries, met some friends and had a good time. This place is a staple in town, although they have some stiff competition, Leone's gets it right every time. It does help having a prime location. read more

I came here to eat because every time I walk by it busy. I knew it had mixed reviews, yet still decided to try it out. Well, needless to say I was extremely disappointed. The food was mediocre at best! Tasteless chicken fingers. Ordered their special salad of the day and asked for no dried cranberries and salad came with it. The salad described it having "grilled" pears and the pears were clearly not grilled at all. My son pizza was decent, I'll say that was probably the only highlight of the dinner. When the receipt came, it clearly stated "no cranberries!!!!" So it's clear the kitchen didn't read the ticket order. Lastly, it really bugs me that they include the gratuity and they don't bring back the itemized bill with the credit card receipt after they swipe your card. Which asks for a tip, not an "additional tip" like other receipts. I will NOT be returning. read more

Recently I organized a party for my daughter, for me Valerie the manager is not responsible, I made a plan with her one on one afterward she did not even give instructions to the waitress so that it would go as we had planned. Afterwards she dared to tell me that it was up to me to watch what was happening. It was really a disaster. read more

The food was forgettable, but the live music was impossible to ignore. Substandard scatting, more annoying than entertaining, made the whole night unbearable. Nothing remotely enjoyable about the dining experience. What should've been a nice dinner with friends turned into a headache. Do yourself a favor and go to Café Giotto instead. read more

Unless you enjoy terrible ear-assaulting live "music" ruining your dinner experience, please go to any other Montclair restaurant. With so many choices near by, there is simply no reason to dine here. I can't even comment on the food as my whole table was anxious to get out of earshot of the band. Just not a good experience. read more

We were walking by and saw somebody's pasta and it looked so good we stopped for dinner. You can eat inside or out. They didn't provide any bread, but they did give us water. They don't have a liquor license, but there is a liquor store down the street that will deliver a bottle of liquor or wine to you. Or you can BYOB if you would like as well. We started with the avocado bruschetta and it was phenomenal. The avocado and fresh mozzarella went perfectly with the tomato, onion and balsamic vinaigrette. I wanted to try a pie since I've never met a margarita pizza out of a brick oven that I didn't like. It was also excellent. The crust was perfect for folding and the ingredients were fresh. My date ordered a salmon special even though the pasta was the reason she wanted to come here. I tried the salmon and it was also awesome. It seemed like it had a breading or something the way the skin was a little crunchy. The sauce and everything on it worked. Our only complaint was the waitress kept disappearing and never brought my dates Diet Coke. I thought it might have been karma. read more

Typical street side setting and unfortunately like a lot of restaurants in Montclair BYOB. The real bright spot was the Jazz ensemble. Music complemented the singer who was very personable and had a terrific jazz blues voice. I only order from Uber eats but there food is really good especially their lobster ravioli I love it so much can't beat it for $28 dollars and their tiramisu cake was really moist and fresh super delicious definitely would order it again. My friend ordered their shrimp Alfredo she loves it only problem she had was they gave her 4 shrimp instead of 7 and it was an additional charge for the shrimp it's always supposed to come with 7 shrimps, may need to change the price if your only going to give 4. Other than that love the food maybe I'll go in the restaurant next time. read more

We had a nice meal here and went with friends. We were hoping for a great catch up with friends that we haven't seen in a while, but unfortunately we couldn't communicate over the loud music from the band. If the band took it down a few notches and was more background ambiance, I'm sure we would have been able to enjoy both our meal AND our company. read more

Food is decent, but combined with the ridiculously LOUD live music, you'll walk out with a headache and agita!! Would not recommend.

I'm all for a band, but oh my gosh, this was RIDICULOUSLY loud! I couldn't even hear myself think, let alone chew. It was nuts. Catching up with my friend was impossible because we were shouting over the music the whole time. We eventually gave up and just started texting each other back and forth across that table. The food was "fine" but I couldn't even focus on what I was eating. Definitely not going back. read more

This place is a 14 minute drive to my college campus. As I don't have a car, I had to have it delivered. On the phone I was told that it would be a 40-45 minute wait, but in actuality I had to wait for an hour and 40 minutes (I ordered at 9:50 pm and the order got here at 11:31 pm). I could understand it being 10-30 minutes late, as it is a big campus, however there is absolutely no reason whatsoever as to why a pizza is an hour late considering that the place is a 14 minute drive away. When the food got here, I was told that it was $19 dollars, so I paid with a $20, and I didn't get my $1 change back. I then tried to open the box only to discover that there was 2 clear pieces of tape shutting the box closed (which I've never seen at any pizza place I've ever had delivered). On top of that, the pizza was flat out cold. Not warm, not cool, but flat out cold. read more

We were there last Friday evening for dinner. Although, it was lovely outside with a band the food was not impressive we ordered Margarita pie, Cesar salad, meatball, chicken Francesca and rigatoni vodka.
