Instead of going to my handy dandy Lenscrafters in Macy's. I decided to go to the location in the Camelback Collonade. I have to be honest, I feel like all the discounts that I see on tv, that are offered with my eye care insurance---I've NEVER received...NEVER! I've resigned myself to pay enormous prices for eyeglasses. I did it AGAIN this year because of the options presented; 1 pair at $900+ using your insurance or 2-3 pair at $1500 paying per month. Thank the HEAVENS above for my FSA account. (Use or lose) The latter is a new option offered by Lenscrafters. These eyeglasses are mad expensive and in my mind, these will be THE LAST pair of frames PURCHASED. I will reuse these frames with new scripts. OMG, the cost of these new glasses makes me EMBARRASSED to tell anyone. There were a few hiccups with the new glasses, I signed to pay per month. FYI the monthly payment is tiered, too. I was SURE I chose glasses in the HIGHEST tier at $89 per month. I didn't, mine are $69 per month. Hiccup #1, I tried on the glasses that came back in a few days in the store. I leave the store after trying then on. A few days later, I'm driving and somethings ALL WRONG! I have to move the 1 pair to the end of my nose to see, but they felt blurry, too strong. 2nd pair, I decided to try, again while driving, (at night) EVERYTHING was blurry, scary- can't see. PANICKED, I had to drive the rest of the way home that night with no glasses. Someone chose blue lens vs non glare--- WHAT? That would NEVER be my choice, the blue lens for folks like me who look at computer screen, I DO NOT LIKE. Anti-glare, is a must for me with cataracts, STAT. I returned to the store, a nice guy initially tried to tell me, they take a minute to adjust. NO! At $1500, these glasses actually should ask me daily, "how am I doing?" I asked him to please help me or take them back. He realized the measurements were off, way off. He remeasured. I mentioned to him the glare at night in the one pair was AWFUL, there was no way, I would/could keep them. I MUST have, anti-glare. He charged me an extra $30 outside the contract to redo the glasses with anti-glare. Now, I'm no attorney, but that makes NO SENSE, but he works there, not me. I called back the next day and yep, I was right, a new contract was in orderand a refund of $30. Hiccup #2, before they resubmitted the glasses with new measurements, I decided that my script was worth a check. I went back to my Ophthalmologist for a prescription check. The last script was from a stand-in doctor, who seemed to 'cool for school,' so I suspected his script wasn't right. He was trying to get me to consider eye services I didn't not feel comfortable with since he was not my regular doctor. My doctor gave me a new script. Finally, a new script, new measurements for my new glasses and a new contract. All in all, my experience was good, just a lot of moving parts, but everyone at this store was helpful, admittedly new to this new monthly program. They were super grateful for my patience, and I theirs. I do recommend this store. Nice selection, CLEARLY, hence my price. They wanted to get it right. I did recently come in for an adjustment. Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I had an appointment for an eye exam at 3 o'clock. I came five minutes early. No one was at the front desk to greet me so I waited for 10 minutes. It was 3:05 when I got sent back. I was told since I was late, They will not be able to take me for an appointment. I explained the situation and they had absolutely no grace and sent me on my way. I worked in customer service for over a decade and would never treat a customer like that. I tried to call in to inform them that I was going to be 5 minutes late as this location is around a very heavily traffic area. When answered I was placed on hold for a few minutes, thinking I wasn't even going to need to tell them since I was already at the light. They mentioned that there is a 5 minute grace period, which is exactly the time i need. I walked in not a minute till, and was informed that my appointment would need to be moved. Confused as to why there is a grace period to begin with if your just going to Move my appointment anyways. I've come here in the past, perhaps the other eye groups that were here previously were much more accommodating or better suited. read more

The optometrist here was very accommodating and helpful. I asked about Tom Ford frames and the sales team just pointed me in the direction of the frames, but they weren't helpful. They said they did have frames in a catalog, but I have no idea if they fit my face. I know they can use measurements to determine if frames fit, but no. I wouldn't go back and the only reason for 3 stars is because of the optometrist. The Lenscrafters location in Macys at the Biltmore are very helpful. Try them. read more

There was no mention of any sort of grace period in the text or when I scheduled it yet they decided we only give a five minute grace period for appointments. Signed in for the appointment and was told that I would have a $29 copay because this is a "comprehensive" eye exam and that was not optional. Clearly so they could make a claim on my MEDICAL insurance. I walked out. I just needed an eye exam. The money grubbing is real y'all. Beware of this location & DNA Eye Group in particular. I had an expensive pair of sunglasses that has had a bent frame and missing screw for 8+ years and finally made time to see if I could pay someone at LensCrafters to fix them and replace the screw. To my upmost surprise, the store manager Maddy, asked me to wait for a few minutes. She came back in five minutes, we sat at a desk, she was able to fix the frame, replace the screw, and clean up the sunglasses to look brand new. I asked how much I owe her for this service and she said this was a free service they provide and to come back anytime I have any future issues with the sunglasses. Maddy was so kind, wasted no time to help me, and left me excited to share how great LensCrafters is to my friends and family. After reading many reviews online I decided to skip the negatives on this particular LensCrafter locations and against all my human fibers I decided to book an appointment for my husband and myself online. Boy oh boy was I completely in shock when we visited. (((READ ON!!!))) The last time I visited this location was over 9 years ago. Upon walking up, I noticed a complete change of venue. All the glass windows allowed the sunlight to dance with each lense inside and the store including the restrooms were extremely clean. I was amazed at how this store was vibrantly lit up with a very serene and cozy atmosphere. HEADS UP: I learned the previous person in charge no longer held her position and 98% of the staff was replaced with folks who knew how important customer service is. MY RECENT VISIT: My husband and I both got our eye exams by the on-site optometrist. Thereafter we both ended up picking out our favorite pair of frames after 45 minutes of browsing. We spent a good chunk of money and the best part was the sale rep wasn't pushy. He was patient and allowed us to make every choice necessary for our lifestyle. Our glasses took about a week to receive and they were perfect! The Associates are kind, helpful and knowledgeable about their product. They are great at answering questions and listened to our particular needs. From the moment I walked in, the lady at the front desk was very welcoming (I believe she was the store manager or assistant store manager) and the gentleman who checked me in was also polite and helpful (getting my information). My appointment was scheduled for 1:30 p.m., but I wasn't aware there would be a wait. I had a 2:10 p.m. telehealth appointment that had been scheduled well before this eye exam, so I was mindful of timing. Unfortunately, Dr. Katie didn't see me until around 2:15 p.m. When I mentioned that I had another appointment that I might have to move, she seemed frustrated and asked if I wanted to reschedule, as if it were my fault for her delay. I told her no, since I had already paid, and instead I had to move my telehealth appointment. During the exam, she spoke very quickly and rushed through the process, which left me feeling uneasy. I'm not sure what was happening on her end that caused the delay, but I hope things improve for future patients. After waiting so long and being made to feel like the inconvenience was mine, I honestly don't know how to feel about the whole experience. The receptionist was neither overtly friendly nor rude--just monotone and strictly procedural, which was acceptable. I presented my ID, medical, and vision insurance information. After I sat down to fill out my initial paperwork, I began to overhear the staff attempting to verify my insurance, Avesis. It quickly became apparent they were experiencing a major technical failure with their electronic system, which they use to check eligibility and benefits. I heard them call other clinic locations, but the system remained faulty, pulling up benefits inconsistently for one person and not at all for another. Despite my absolute certainty that my insurance was active, the receptionist called me up and stated that since they could not successfully verify my eligibility and benefits through their internal system, I had two options: 1. Reschedule the appointment for a future date, hoping their system would be fixed. 2. Pay the full cost of the visit, and they would provide an itemized receipt (a superbill) for me to submit to Avesis for self-reimbursement. I attempted to provide a simple solution by offering to show my active eligibility on my personal insurance website, as I had checked it before arriving. The receptionist immediately dismissed this, stating they were required to obtain verification through their own system and could not rely on patient-provided information. The critical failure in this situation was their refusal to employ the standard industry contingency plan. As a former front office receptionist, I know that when the electronic system fails, the next step is to call the provider services number printed on the back of the insurance card. This phone call only takes a few minutes and yields a definitive eligibility confirmation, which is all they need to fulfill the visit and accurately bill the co-pay listed on the card. Instead of accommodating a paying patient whose visit was otherwise valid, they chose to rely on a broken system. They defaulted to making me reschedule or pay full price because of their technical difficulty, demonstrating an excessive, almost ridiculous reliance on the online portal. They had two avenues to verify my benefits and chose to use only one, even after it failed. I declined the offer to reschedule. My decision was based entirely on their lack of professional accommodation and unwillingness to take a basic step--a simple phone call--to ensure I was seen and to honor my scheduled appointment. Felt rushed and neglected by the optometrist Dr. Freese for both my initial and follow up contact lens appointments. DNA office staff candidly forgot to advise the follow-up appointment could only be kept with same optometrist from first the visit. While I can appreciate LensCrafters' ability to keep pace with their competition by using the newest and latest machinery. I cannot sit well with the fact that according to the same optometrist that I saw(not by choice) on both my Sunday visits had the courage to insist that my latest prescription of -1.50(L)eye and -1.25(R)eye had DOUBLED within the 1 year and some months since my last eye exam. But she kept the momentum and sent me home with the new prescription strength of -3.00(L) and -2.50(R). Which is double my last prescription that had barely reached a year and a half, if that. During the initial visit everything seemed well and dandy with the tech who started the process for basic measurements and images of my eye. It wasn't until I sat down in front of the phoropter and met with Dr. Freese that my appointment began to feel much more dense. She walked into the room, didn't introduce herself, she greeted me by name, which she pronounced incorrectly. I greeted her back, and properly introduced myself with the correct pronunciation of my first name, as anyone would. Normal. She was silent in response to that. She proceeded to do the usual 1. Or 2. As she flipped through the slides. Mind you I'm a contact wearer so I was asked to remove my current lenses for this procedure. So as my bare eyes are trying to adjust to what I'm seeing through this phoropter. I could not decipher if any of what I saw was actually clear enough to tell whether or not slide 1 or slide 2 was in any way more distinct than the other. She rushed through the slides. I could not keep up with her pace as she flipped through these things. I did the best I could to determine what was clear and what was worse. I was sent home with a prescription double my last strength. After two days of trying to get 'adjusted' to this new prescription, I gave up. I called the DNA office and requested a re-evaluation. Which I directly explained that the optometrist rushed through the exam, provided an inaccurate reading, and that I found it extremely farfetched that my contact prescription could double itself within 1 year. I requested an appointment for a different day of the week since I was busy the following Sunday. Apparently you can only see the same optometrist for a follow up. Which I did not need a follow up. I needed a new exam appointment. I wanted to visit with a different optometrist, literally anyone else. They said they 'booked' that appointment for Tuesday but when I showed up on the Tuesday. They couldn't find my appointment. Somehow it had been put for that following Sunday, with the same lady. Since that's the only day she works at this location. What a complete failure on their part to mention something that important, and total waste of my time. Once that Sunday had come around. Same inclination from Dr.Freese. She even argued with me about the first visit. She felt so inclined to say that my last years prescription 'works better' for me than what she provided. "No doubt" it works better I can actually see with that strength. It felt like she wanted to be 'right' when I explained to her that her prescription for me was completely off. Same thing on visit #2. She rushed through the slides didn't give me enough time to see if there were any differences between them. Resulting in another misread and inaccurate prescription. She then tried to say my prescription changed again to -2 point something in one eye. And -3 point whatever in the other. Bottom line___ Do not make your appointment with this specific optometrist unless you're okay with her poor 'bedside' manner. She will rush your visit and show no remorse for any mistakes that she very well could prevent from happening. I hated working on Sundays too, so I switched my profession, js read more

I ordered my glasses on April 9th. I was told they would be ready in 10 days. It has been about a month and I was just told that I will have to wait yet another week to get my glasses - if they arrive at that time. Anywhere else, anywhere, I would have already received my glasses that I paid hundreds of dollars for. Now I have been told that LensCrafters has had to send my prescription to an outside laboratory? Why? Aren't your in house laboratories good enough? I don't understand what is going on here. I have now received multiple answers from various employees and corporate representatives. The first time they were late I was told that they had been broken during shipping. They didn't need an outside laboratory then? Or is that just something that is told customers to shut them up? Nevertheless, I feel that I am getting the complete runaround here. Most recently I was told that they will try to "re-order" the glasses to try and "push the lab through". If that doesn't work, I was told that I could come in and get a refund! Really? I would love to be able to see properly, but it's now looking like I might have wasted over a month of time, paid hundreds of dollars and will have to start the process somewhere else all over again. 2 stars because Dr. Black and staff were good. Otherwise, LensCrafters is the epitome of why Brock and mortar business die in the shadow of online sales. Basic, over priced frames, lack service and slow turn around. I could have taken my script, uploaded it to Warby Parker and had the frames back in 5-7 days total. Instead this store dodged the turn around question long enough for me to give them money only to state "7-10 BUSINESS DAYS". So not only are they slower AND more expensive than online places, they also never got around to notify me that mine were ready. But hey, what's 12 business days between friends right? I WILL be back to see Dr. Black for an eye exam, but never again will LC get my money. 2 stars only because Dr. Black and staff. Don't buy glasses here. Brittany, as the store manager you should be aware that Ryan is very poor at communicating with customers. He is not only overly defensive, when a customer has a complaint or problem he shows zero empathy and treats them like they don't matter, and like idiots. I strongly suggest you train him to be more empathetic. In addition, your customers should be told in advance that you will not stand behind your product if they are left in their cars. Many people who use glasses to drive would not know or expect this. Paying $400 for something that is not covered because of something people are not told about in advance is wrong, and border line unethical. I am shocked after reading the most recent reviews of this location. Overall every encounter with the staff to include the in house optometry office located inside this Lens Crafters was very pleasant. I called in to make a last minute - same day appointment with the optometry office and they were more than accommodating. When I arrived I was checked in promptly and didn't have to wait long. I was then geeted by Technician Jacob who was very knowledgeable and friendly which made a great first impression as I was initially apprehensive to visit another Lens Crafters after my last experience at the 75th Ave location. (They wanted to charge me a $29 fee for a "mandatory" exam separate form the normal one) this location also offered this exam but as an option. Jacob did a great job at explaining it to me but was not pushy about it when I declined, which I really appreciate. Dr. Black was also very friendly and knowledgeable explaining every portion of my eye exam with fine detail and offering advice as to what might work best with my current insurance plan. Finally Niko helped me choose a frame I was comfortable with and even went out of his way to look in the system and try to help my find the frame I chose in the color I desired. Unfortunately it was nearing closing time and all of his co-workers had already departed leaving him to close by himself. I was near to completing my purchase and order when a few customers showed up to pick up their completed orders and Niko had to break away for a few minutes at a time attempting to balance his time with them and myself as best as he could. I am pretty understanding and give him props for handling the situation and keeping his composure so well, I was just bummed that it took a few minutes longer to complete my checkout process rather than if there was another employee present to help him out. It truly takes away from the level of personal experience for the customers when you have to break away to tend to another and it makes you feel as if you are being rushed. (Currently working in the Sales and Customer service fields this isn't something we would practice at my company.) read more

Dr Dave who did my eye exam was very quick, professional, and nice. This location had a huge selection of glasses. I told the lady I wanted purple glasses, and we just walked around the whole place trying on purple glasses. I really liked the selection. And I did find a great pair that I really liked, felt and looked good. Everyone at work noticed right away the next day. :) The computers were down, but the lady was patient and tried to be a quick as she could. This location was really busy on a Sunday. I didn't think it would be, but I like that they are open all weekend. My glasses were done in an hour, but my husband and I went out for lunch. So, time flew on by for us. read more

Mine cracked and chipped during normal light use like they were defective The frames are still perfect though I am now wearing my ten year old glasses and feel safer I called them to ask about this and was told me they do not replace defective lens unless it's before 30 days or if you bought the warranty. I was patient throughout my interactions with them and today was my last interaction with them due to Celine (receipt says Nicole was the cashier but she said her name was Celine while on the phone). I do not recommend using this location or LensCrafters in general. I've had too many issues with multiple LensCrafters locations in multiple states. Dr. Bhadria is very nice but I had to come in and pay more for another exam since my vision started becoming blurry within a couple of months. Celine (doesnt wear a name tag - woman with redish hair) was very rude about me wanting to return contacts even though I confirmed with someone else on the phone (another woman that works there - she is very nice - long blonde? hair) and the Dr Farqhar during my exam that they would accept the return since my script changed and the boxes were unopened I simply said I wanted to return the contacts and she quickly made it known that I was inconveniencing her. Immediately snappy with me. Manager James who had to help her do the return was helpful. She was very nice to James and passing aggressive to me which was unprofessional. I have worked in customer service and I have encountered pretty awful people, but I wasn't rude to her when asking for a return. At least she said have a nice day? read more

First of all, this is a very nice and large eye glass store. It has an optometrist office attached as well for eye exams. I come in from time to time get my glasses adjusted and often times the store is busy, but the wait is only a few minutes before somebody is able to adjust my glasses. They do a very good job adjusting and will readjust until you are satisfied. read more
