Legendary Pastrami?- Solid but not Hall of Fame...
Scott W.

Your favorite Yelp correspondent has been known to go on fortnight-long runs where I'll order heavily from one type of food- It might be ten days of Thai, where I'm favoring Siamese fare four nights; perhaps a quartet of Mediterranean cuisine orders... But lately, over the past ten days I've been consuming pastrami like, well, Joey Chestnut demolishes hot dogs every July 4th. Last night's pastrami sando from Legends marks my fourth similar order in the past eight night's. I paired it with a small fries, which are enough to share. Not gonna bother littering this review w/ extraneous pics of Legends '50s style Americana design- Everyone else snaps plenty of those... So was Legends up to their emulatable name? Mehhhh, quite solid...but not necessarily Hall of Fame caliber. The meat is plentiful, piled 2.5" high on the bread smeared w/ yellow mustard. But the flavor profile of the 'Strami is rather spartan- No palette fireworks that you experience w/ famous pastrami sandos churned out by Brent's Deli (Northridge), Katz (NYC), etc. In the vast ranking of Glendora-adjacent Pastrami Sando sellers, I'd rank em: 1.) EAT Fantastic, Arcadia- Lean, well seasoned, bread pairs perfectly. A flavorful home run! 2.) The Hat, Glendora. This IS their moneymaker, after all... 3.) Legends, Glendora. Looks like I must've ordered the WDT (Wrong Damn Thing)... 4.) Route 66 Subs, Glendora. The rookie on the list, Your correspondent might give them a pass if a future cold sando outpaces what this was- A disappointment.

I love Legends, I've been coming here forever, giant menu, lots of options, classic diner vibes! I recommend a cheeseburger, blta, or chicken strips.

When you walk in, it feels like you're taking back in time it's a 50th diner vibe a wide space where you could bring Family or you can go there on a date. We ordered their turkey burger, along with fries and fried zucchini, the meal was delicious. The turkey burger was seasoned very nicely. The service also was very nice. Your greeted once you walk in the restrooms are also clean and they have an additional ice cream bar where you can get ice cream cones floats, banana splits, etc..

Legends is cool , nice old school burger joint , breakfast, lunch , and dinner . This one is pretty big , maybe the biggest one I've been too or send like it . Good food and service . Good spot for a burger and fries , and a shake , or chili cheese fries and the pastrami looks good too !

Small neopolitan shake.

First time trying this place out and we ordered to go. Youll see the menu gives plenty of options, ranging from breakfast to lunch. Walking in, the first thing you'll note is the decor, bright visuals (signs and art) all around that make it whimsical. Lots of parking to go with the spacious dining area. Cashiers were attentive to who walked in. We did ask if ranch was provided in order to-go order and told it'll cost extra (.55 cents). Which was fine, but then we saw that there was already 4 ranch portion cups included in our bags, once we started eating. So....we didnt need them and could have just been told it was already in there. Minor oversight. On to the food! Its diner food and you get what you expect, something greasy and filling. I got the pastrami melt sandwich which had a nice crunch from the pickles and tangy mustard to go with the salty pastrami. The jalapeño burger was alright. Jalapeño was grilled, split in half, and place on each side. Expected it to either be crunchier or fresh...and more. The chili cheese fries serving was huge and it comes doused with cheese. Can't even see the fries til you dig in. So if you get a large one, you'll have leftovers. My favorite was the neopolitan shake that was made with real icecream and was deliciously smooth. And the small version comes with quite a lot.

BLT, hold the T! Packed with bacon and the crispy fries with the seasoned salt are everything a growing boy needs!

I've been coming here since it opened around 2007? I was surprised I had not reviewed it. Literally everything here is good. The BLTs are packed with bacon. The french fries have great seasoned salt on them. The onion rings are addictive. The taquitos have great shredded beef in them and the tortilla chips are fresh fried. The burgers are more common like you get it at a Greek hamburger stand. My friends tell me the breakfast burritos are worth driving for themselves! Another thing that sets this place apart from pretty much anywhere else is the decor and the high ceilings and the ice cream parlor. There is memorabilia all over the place: embedded into the walls, freestanding on the floor, hanging from the ceilings, and a terrific surf mural on one of the walls. It is really quite spectacular and makes this place special. Glendora is lucky to have it.

My girls dance team has come to this location after their spring competitions for years. The service has always been great and i can't think of a time the orders have ever been wrong (but i'm sure it happens) The food selection is your classic diner experience choices along with some different menu options like nacho and tacos. My whole family loves all the classic hollywood pictures throughout the inside of the diner. Needless to say, we everything about Legends!

This place has a cool chill vibe, brings you to the 50's with the decorative items! Super cool! We had eaten other items but I forgot to take photos (next time) Check this spot out fast and friendly service from the employees.

Brought my granddaughter and grandson for lunch. We love this diner. They have really good burgers. We also like their onion rings and fried mushrooms. They want to dine here again so they can some of the other menu items.

I was surprised that the food was this good! Pastrami was awesome as well as the fried mushroom and mozzarella sticks. I'll be coming back.

Great place for burgers and fries. They also offer Mexican food on their menu (the bean and cheese burritos are good).

Good food and plenty of it! Had a few nasty surprises with the totals. Adds up fast, but if you split you order, worth it.

What day do you have the car show?

There aren't really scheduled "car shows" as such, the various classic car owners coordinate gatherings in various places in the city and outside of the city.

Is the garden burger vegan?

The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5
