Late night in Glendora (11pm-ish, so kind of early, really) . . . not exactly like late night in, say, West Covina, but also a few steps away from late night in La Verne. Apparently. We were driving around on Foothill, mostly dark. Eden is poppin' with hookah smokers and we were quoted a 30 minute wait, no thanks. A line at the 24-hour Donut Man--but that's for later. Legends is bright and lively looking, so we strolled in. It was a scene! Lots of folks dining away classic-styles on burgers, sammiches, fries, shakes, and ...cherry Fanta? Big menu that is mostly identical to most other places of this genre. This place has tall ceilings, good lighting, fun decor accents (old soda pop tops in wall tiles, etc.) and apparently is where the local yoots come to cavort, sit at a bar (a coffee/milkshake bar), and carry on as their parents (maybe?) sat at tables and talked soccer tournament logistics for the weekend. We decided to share a bacon cheeseburger, an order of chili cheese fries, and a vanilla shake. All of them were very tasty. The burger had the thin, 1/4lb institutional patty characteristic of these joints, but overall had great flavor, fresh veggies, and nicely done bacon inside. The chili cheese fries were very respectable. I will order them again without hesitation or rumination upon entering that building. Moral of the story; if you're looking for a tasty burger with a "so this is where everybody (but the hookah crowd) is on a sleepy Friday night in Glendora" feel, Legends is your place. read more

I haven't been here in forever but I decided to go today. i'd come when i was younger with my family and i'd always get the tuna melt. something about their tuna is just perfect? & then with the american cheese on both sides of toasted bread... it's so good, probably the best tuna melt i've ever had. i hadn't had one in a couple years at least, but today i remembered that Legend's has a drive thru. so i ordered my tuna melt and drove all the way home (20+ minutes so you know i wasn't turning around) only to discover there was no cheese in it :( just tuna, lettuce and tomato on toasted bread. it was weird bc that kinda defeats the whole purpose of a "melt", so i was a lil disappointed. Honestly though, I didn't miss the cheese all that much once i started eating it because the tuna was just as bomb as i remembered. i also got a small order of fries on the side and noted that the seasoning on them is still top tier! legend's still gets four stars even after getting my order wrong because i thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I will be back to get a true tuna melt sometime in the future tho read more

Legends Classic Diner - i asked for a tuna melt and they forgot the cheese. tuna was still excellent though - American Near Me - Glendora, California

It tends to be a little pricey if you're into breakfast sammiches, but it's worth it! The entrees are huge and FULL of flavor!! The bread is all toasty and I love it! I can never finish one in one sitting. The place is gigantic when you get in, the patio is huge, it's very spacious - but the walls are COVERED with tiny bottle caps and pictures of legends :) My husband and I love going here for lunch when the sunlight can come in, but I bet it's fun at night too. Once the parking lot was totally full of classic cars for a car show! It might be fun if they ever had any 1950s impersonators in there, like Elvis and Marilyn or James Dean. That would make for some great parties!! read more

This is not the first time this happen....I have always ordered a classic Chili fries with grilled onions and always tell the person twice or three times with grilled onions....again as I ordered today at the drive thru and mentioned it three times ...it came out again with missing grilled onions...I still have a credit with them before and never did try to waste my time to go again and get it...I tried to call and speak with the manager...guess what he was pretty a nice jack ass guy...I gave him my order number and he said that the order was just Classic chili fries...I reiterated to him that I mentioned to the girl when I ordered three times with grilled onions ... and then he uttered well I can just give you the grilled onions and just come back here....he is a moron and you have this guy as your manager? I spent 30mins waiting at the drive they and looks like I ordered large and gave me a small one....yeah it's COVID19 but dont be a jack ass to customer just because you have a lot of people patronizing you....it will come back 10 folds on you ...you value your customer can't wait for your establishment to close down...you want me to drive down back to you and pick up the frillednknoon.... So what happens then....every time your staff have a mistake thru a drive thru we have to come back and get the items.....I like your very nice response but doesn't help a thing at all.....your response is a sarcasm to your customer ... read more

Sat in the restaurant for 30 minutes waiting for my food. I had a 30 minute window between my appointments. The server walked around and gave people food around me but never checked to see what my order was. It wasn't until someone who just ordered came and sat down and a few short minutes after they received their order I went to ask where my food was. I never received a receipt I had to pull up my bank statement to show them. They told me their orders get lost. If they know that they should have systems in place in case orders get lost. The woman that took my order said she didn't remember me. If someone has a certain amount of time they should be considerate or at least have signs up letting customers know there machines are faulty. read more

I have been here a handful of times. Cute 50's surfer vibe kinda place. Always clean, good service, and consistently good. Today i tried the classic salad. This salad is definitely not for dieters, but so delicious! Greens, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, olives, egg, cheese, so much meat, so much avocado, and a side of pita bread! Yum!! I highly recommend this place, but if you order this salad you made need an extra workout for the week! read more

Huge portions here, so be careful what you're ordering. I had the pastrami cheeseburger ($5.95) which was piled up with salami and didn't disappoint. I just wish I had room for other stuff as well. The fries are ginormous, worthy of being shared by four people. If you're calorie counting, then this might not be a great choice to eat at. All in all, just good old American food you'd expect to find at a diner. Worthy of being on Route 66 I guess. read more

Why is it that businesses since covid and them starting to let their customers back inside, they do poorly on their food and they treat their customers like they are trash. Today i went to legends for lunch with my family for mothers day, now i am not saying that all legends treat their food and customers badly, I am only talking about the Glendora location. So like i said i went with my family for lunch i ordered my food and soon it was given to me by a server. I start to eat and notice that my chicken strips that i ordered tasted like rubber, this was weird so i check the rest of my chicken and it was all rubber. So then i checked my daughters chicken because she got the same thing i got and it tasted the same. So then i walked in and asked if i can get some new chicken because mine was rubber, soon the manager came up to me and said "i cooked it and that its fine its just chicken." But then i told him that i have a daughter outside who has not eaten anything at all today, and he said the same thing to me. So I demanded my money back because this is not a way to treat your food or your customers, he gave me 7 dollars back when the food is 8 dollars. He said "well it's because you ate your fries" but then i told him i did not even touch my fries they are still in the box, then he came back with that i still have my drink, then i said that i will just bring it back and he said no he will just take the lost several times until he just gave up and walked away. Once he did i told my family we are never going back to that specific location and then i took my soda back and told a worker to tell the manager that there is my soda, and then i left. Also their fries are undercooked and are a little bit over seasoned. read more

Waited about 20 minutes in drive thru for a banana split and sundae. Get home and the banana split was missing the "banana"! Not only that, the ice cream was of poor quality and the wrong toppings on the different ice cream. The worst banana split I ever had. I changed my review from a 2 Star to 1 Star because of the reply I received from my review. He says, sorry that your banana split was not made to perfection. Getting the wrong ice cream or missing the toppings is one thing, but forgetting the banana in a banana split is another. The banana split was missing the banana!!! I felt like the response was in-genuine and just sent out of obligation! Now, I will not only not get an ice cream here, I will not ever frequent this establishment again!! read more

I had only recently discovered Legends a few months ago. I fell for their Strawberry/Banana smoothies. I literally went there every day since discovering them to order one. I always asked for NO WHIP CREAM. Often times they gave me a dome lid with a little extra smoothie, when they made too much. It would go in the trash otherwise. Other times, my drink came with a flat lid and straw only. I was often short changed of the cookie straw because it didn't fit with the flat lid. The waits in the drive-thru are long and the girls in the drive-thru are often very curt. One other thing that I would like to mention is that one of the girls uses some sort of perfumed oil that she actually uses while she is there handling peoples food. I am allergic to colognes and perfumes and I didn't appreciate her using that item while working at the drive-thru window. On Friday, May 19th, I walked inside for my smoothie to avoid the long, slow, drive-thru line. I asked the kid making my smoothie for the dome lid. It was already made and ready to hand to me, when a girl walked up. Took the dome lid off, put a flat lid on. The drink spilled all over the cup and had to be wiped off. She handed me my drink and told me the kid was new and was not supposed to do this. Since I don't take whip cream, often don't get my cookie straw, I don't see anything wrong with getting a little bit extra smoothie in my cup, once in awhile. I didn't see that she needed to make a big deal out of removing the dome lid and give me a flat lid. I asked for my money back. The snarky girl, went to the back, told her manager what was going on. She came back, didn't ask me if I had an issue or problem, just took my card and gave me my money back. There is no "customer service" at this location. read more

Went here with a friend of mine for a late dinner. This place is pretty huge. And it has a drive-thru. Walked in and the menu was pretty extensive. Ended up getting Chili Cheese Fries and my friend got the Carne Asada Burrito. We were given a number and we chose a place to sit. Food came and we started digging in. The Carne Asada Burrito was surprisingly good. The meat had a lot of flavor. And it was packed with other stuff such as rice and guac and pico, I believe. Only downside were the chips. They were rock hard. The Chili Cheese Fries were delicious. The cheese was plentiful and melted. The fries weren't overcooked or underdone either. Nice diner feel to it. Lots of stuff on the walls to look at. What's cool is if you want ice cream and stuff like that, there's a different area to order that. read more

I have been here several times and it has always been a good experience for me. I most always get the greek salad. It is huge!!! I could do without the bell peppers, and HUGE chunks of tomoatoes but otherwise the greek dressing is really good...feta cheese, olives, lots of avocado, mushrooms, boiled egg and pita bread! The finally came out with "side" salads, a smaller size because the large one you can share for sure. We also got a veggie burger on wheat bun with avocado and that was really yummy! I have also tried the salmon burger and that is good, fish and chips good and the fried mushrooms are to die for! The have a pretty good size menu with lots of different options including a lot for vegetarians. They also have a counter like an old time malt shop...and even though we shouldnt have we got a banana split...yummy! The decor is fun and cute. All in all a fun place to go when its not busy. read more

Love the food here! Bathrooms are always clean and the food is always fresh. Can't wait to come back!

I love this place. The atmosphere is fun, the food is simply awesome, and they never disappoint. I've had everything from burgers, to hot dogs, to Gyros, to tacos and taquitos here. I eat here every one to two months and i have the spare tire to prove it =). the place has a great 50's inspired theme and design and although not truly that original, it's still a lot of fun =). they always have nice people working here and it's always the right amount of crowded (meaning there's always a comfortable amount of people eating here but you can always find a table). i've a had a few of there burgers: the mushroom burger, avocado burger, garden burger and cheese burger. all are really good, if i had to pick a favorite it would be the mushroom burger. the green salsa they serve that's meant for the mexican entrees on the menu, makes the burgers taste even beter. the salsa is also really good with the fries. i've also tried the gyro and the tuna melt, both really good but as many others have pointed out the real reason for coming here lies in the fried mushrooms and fried zucchini. well now i know what i'm eating for lunch! read more

I'm giving this place 3.5 stars.... I tried the buffalo burger and I originally thought it was a regular burger with buffalo sauce but it was actually buffalo meat! It wasn't bad, it tastes pretty similar but not as greasy. The burger was pretty tasty and the fries were the highlight of the meal. They were on the softer side and the seasoning was good. The best part of this place was the atmosphere. I liked the diner feel and it was very clean. read more

First time here , impressed at how clean bathroom was and the restaurant itself. We bought 2 cheese burger combos and a hamburger combo. Burgers were tasty and the sauce as well. They consistently get the drive through orders wrong. We're locals, and done with this place. Not worth the wait, the money, or the food.

After a long day of snowboarding, my bf and I were dazed and daydreaming of how awesome it would be to feast on some diner food: fries, tuna melt, and milkshake. Thank goodness to our nifty Yelp app, we found this cute diner along the way home on the Historic Route 66 in Glendora! We ordered tuna melt, fried mushroom poppers, and the classic chili cheese fries (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/legends-classic-diner-glendora?userid=uSMnXltWT839cJsgnBwkKg#75e7uxrIhbsjrby8URH0dQ). Luckily, they didn't keep our bellies waiting; the food came out quick and we were happy. Upon arrival of our food, we were bewildered at how HUGE the portions were even though we got a small order of fries and fried mushrooms. So here we go, eating all the calories we burned and some more... We took our first bite of the fried mushrooms and our elaborate convo resulted in: Me: Mmm.. Bf: Mmm.... Me: Good Bf: Mmm... Me: Mmm... Bf: Juicy - Fries mushrooms were amazing! Well seasoned and battered, and they were plumped and juicy. I think they used a full 1 pound basket of large mushrooms for a small order!! AND it was only ~$3.50! In the end, the batter got a little too filling for me and I ended up ripping off the fried batter and eating the mushrooms only. Overall, it was a good dish to be shared with! - Classic chili cheese fries was very unique. They had chili cheese, pastrami, and grilled red onions. I love it! The chili was just right and not too filling. Pastrami wasn't overly salty and IMO, it was better than The Hat's pastrami fries. The grilled onions was definitely a hit. If you like In&Out cheeseburger with grilled onions, you will love the classic chili cheese fries with grilled onions! - Tuna melt was a disappointment. Tuna wasn't warm and the cheese wasn't even fully melted. The sourdough bread was toasted, but it was too crunchy and dry. I was looking for more of a buttery, rich taste that blends everything together... kinda like the Jack-in-the-Box sourdough sandwich. Overall, awesome experience. The restaurant is huge and filled with old school pictures, little trinkets, and old street signs all around the wall. Definitely one of the cutest diner we've been to! read more
