Best Stone - Installing Granite Cpontertops

The fact I do not speak their language was important as communication with the techs doing the installation had to go through Ronnie. Ronnie assured me this was not a difficult job and one they have done often. which I do not now believe at all. This is another situation where it is important being very knowledgeable yourself and not depend upon someone else's assurances. Again, I cannot recommend this company. We paid another company to correct the issue due to Best Stone not being available for another couple of weeks and when I asked Best Stone to split the cost, was told too bad they would have fixed the issue at no cost. The problem was they were not available, did not seem to understand the issue, and we were already over 12 weeks into the project with an event on the calendar.

Ran over to Best Stone and quickly found what we wanted and for a far better price than competitors. The people that work there were super friendly and easy to work with. We decided to wait two weeks for installation and the two guys that came to install arrived on time and worked until finished. We are very pleased with the outcome of the countertops and have had lots of compliments on them. I highly recommend to anyone looking.... to go in and see what they have to offer. Austin Outdoor Builders - Uncovered residential deck, 10x18 ft, with metal railing and drinks rail. The decking is composite to last a long time with no refinishing

When we went looking for a contractor to build the new deck, we found Austin Outdoor Builders through their listing on Yelp and their website. Kit called me within a couple of days of my email, and really impressed me with his knowledge and experience with decks. I was concerned about City of Austin inspections, and he was very reassuring, pointing out that he talks to the inspectors by phone regularly. He booked a time to go over the engineering plan and the site, and again, I was very impressed when we met. He spoke of extensive experience in building decks, and asked questions about the site and the plan that reflected this. The quote was not cheap, but what is these days? My main concern was that they do the job properly and work with COA inspectors. Work started within a couple of weeks, and I was quite pleased with how the workers did their job. The only delay was to find an engineer to certify the footings before pouring the concrete. I had originally expressed concern about the durability of the support timbers, and Kit offered to coat them before laying the decking. Imagine my surprise when I found them painting the framing with high end professional oil based enamel! The only other delay was the week of the ice storm when Austin was closed for the duration. I was lucky to have family to remove the trees that fell on the lumber in the yard, because the next Monday they were back at work. Both the framing and final inspections went very smoothly and I am delighted with my new deck. I recommend Austin Outdoor Builders to anyone needing a deck.

I'll talk more about our full experience below, but a couple of months ago we had a terrible storm in our neighborhood and a very large tree (at least 25 feet tall) fell directly on our fence. Despite a direct hit, the fence stood firm with only a small dent in the cap board. Talk about quality work! More broadly, our experience was great. We worked with a super helpful person laying out the task who made some fantastic design suggestions (totally not on our radar) that we're really happy with. The work was done efficiently to mimimize the amount of time we had to keep our dog out of the yard. And when seasonal shifting made it impossible to open our gate, they came and fixed it months after the work was done. Great experience all around and would recommend to anyone.

When we arrived at the location, we requested to speak with a manager. After a brief conversation with one manager, we were directed to two other managers' specifically the pro sales manager, Craig Cottier, and Brian Scott, the assistant manager of specialty sales. Both of these managers went over the Eagle Scout proposal in depth with Thing One so they could fully understand what he was trying to accomplish. After a lengthy discussion, we were advised by the managers that the store had already reached their donation cap for the year, but they would try to work with Thing One to get discounted materials for the project. While I could pay for the materials myself, for those who are not aware, there is a fundraising component of an Eagle Scout project with specific rules and regulations. Eagle candidates may ask for donations of materials or discounts on materials from companies or individuals. The candidate must furnish a list of prospective donors with their fundraising application, per national policy, for council approval before soliciting the material donations or discounts. Candidates may also hold fundraising events, such as car washes, meat stick sales, and the like, with an approved application. Many scouts do fundraising or ask for donations as it allows them to show their leadership, communication, and project management skills they've learned while in the BSA. Thing One was able to get 28 pieces of 2x8 Pressure Treated Pine for less than $35 (that's a savings of over $350). The Pine was of excellent quality. Because of the generosity of Lowes and Craig and Brian, Thing One was able to complete his Eagle Scout project successfully while living up to the Boy Scout Law of being thrifty.
