He took offense since I questioned a travel fee he added on to his charge, considering he lives in the vicinity and isn't traveling far to get to my place. I had what I consider a strange experience. I asked for an appointment, explained my problems--and they responded with a list of their basic and hourly charges. I asked if they could give me an idea of how long it usually took to fix my biggest problem; I questioned if I was looking at hundreds or thousands of dollars. They never answered and would not respond to several follow-up emails that I sent. I am guessing that they have so much business they don't need to respond to potential customers who ask reasonable questions. IF they had answered that it was impossible to know, I would still have gone ahead I think. But the idea that a perfectly reasonable question was not worth answering suggests that their idea of customer service isn't the same as mine. read more

Couldn't get scheduled! Called on a Monday and was told up that I would have to make my request online, so I did, asking for a Friday morning appointment. When there was no response by Thursday morning, I repeated the request. No reply. Left a phone message early Friday asking if I had an appointment. No reply. My recently installed (by someone else) water heater stopped working and the plumber wouldn't return my calls. So I broke off an external hose bib/faucet on the house while trying to remove a fused on garden hose attachment, ran to shut off the water main (at the shut off valve Gilbert had thankfully fixed a couple years previous), and placed an emergency call to Gilbert, who answered the phone immediately. Within 20 minutes of that call he had it all fixed with a new external faucet, water restored to the house, and everything completely back to normal!!! It's been ask/answered a number of times, but wanted to share my great experience with Gilbert at Blue Dragon Plumbing. He was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, clean and very reasonable rates - ticks all of the boxes. His rates are very fair and published on his website. I really didn't want to use the larger commercial firms based on all of the horror stories. Glad I chose Blue Dragon. It's just Gilbert, so he is not equipped to handle emergencies / same day issues, IMO. But if you can schedule out a few days, it's totally worth it to work with him. We had a leaky shower... I had Delta send me the replacement cartridge under their lifetime warranty, and had Gilbert install it. Took about 30 minutes and cost $165, which was his first hour rate. Unbelievable service. I had Gilbert on the phone in the morning with a leaking pipe and PRV issue. He was out in my yard by that afternoon in the scorching heat digging and fixing the leak. He came out w/in 45 minutes, cleaned out the faucet so that it went from clogged non-functional to functional w/in 5 minutes and left saying "... I'm not even gonna charge you...". We had 5 hours worth of work in our almost 50 year home. He was so fast and respectful of getting my autistic teen's bathroom done before my son got home from school. We had 3 outdoor faucets replaced, 8 water lines and shut of valves under our sinks/behind toilets replaced, behind the wall tub/shower plumbing, one sink with new fixture and drain. A few years ago, I had Gilbert replace my hot water heater. He said I needed a commercial large water heater for a two bedroom condo, I did not argue but questioned why. Now I am discovering (via another plumber), I have no shut off valve on that hot water heater. II considered him a decent plumber but now I do not. After speaking with Mr. Jimenez, I was informed the plumber who said the water heater needed a valve was mistaken. The shut off is controlled by a sensor and will cut off water automatically if it detects a leak. So, my apologies to Mr. Jimenez for writing a negative review. He contacted me immediately after receiving the compliant, listened then explained why the other fellow was wrong. read more
