Left this place pretty disappointed.. we were enjoying our time up until we were leaving. We came had about 8 people with our table, and mostly everyone paid separate tabs. As we were in the parking lot a tall man with curly long hair came out and asked us if the service was bad, we told him no the service was fair. He said we were probably the worst tipping customers ever. Everyone tipped. Now, considering we were all paying separate tabs, we have no control over what each of our party was paying and everyone had their own judgment on how the service was. I don't think it was professional for us to be getting in our vehicles and for him to feel the need to confront us outside about the situation. Never have I been confronted like this in this industry, this is the type of job to where it's not always going to be consistent and everyone's judgment on service is going to be different! read more

i had a really nice dinner at left turn. i had the 3 tacos (2 brisket, 1 chicken) and they were delicious. the brisket was really smokey and tender. the chicken was good too but i think the brisket stole the show. my friend had the brisket sandwich. it seems he enjoyed it because it disappeared pretty quickly. we shared the queso as an appetizer and it was just right. my bloody mary was spicy, just the way i like it and it had the perfect amount of alcohol. there was a lot of cool, interesting art up on the walls and a (i'm pretty sure) there was a fire pit on the patio. there were a bunch of folks sitting around the bar laughing and enjoying themselves. it was a nice, quiet, chill place for a friday, afterwork dinner. the service was pretty slow. our server forgot about us a couple times but it wasn't a huge deal since we weren't in a hurry. i'll definitely be back to try some more of their menu items. they have an interesting and diverse selection to choose from. read more

I would give it 0 stars if there were an option. I was in town for business a trying to find some eats so we came across Left Turn. We were greeted and told to sit wherever we liked. That was literally the last interaction we had with anyone that worked there. A waitress took every table's order by us...and NEVER came to take our order. It was at least 20 minutes! Rude and ridiculous. Needless to say I will not go back there strictly for this reason. What's worse is that the waitress that greeted us saw us leave. Never said a word. Left Turn is an awesome spot to grab a few drinks with friends! They are a bit hidden but once you find them you won't forget them! Their mixed drinks and cocktails are all super flavorful and never boring! I had the Red Chile Moscow Mule and loved it!! Also they are in the same place as Palmer Brewing and Cocina Amada, so you can have a good beer and awesome tacos with your cocktails. If you ever go to the left turn distillery be ready for a rude and crude bartender name Dan. So my advice is not to go to Left turn distillery cuz the managers hire rude bartenders there. But they do make good mixed drinks and they do have good beer there. And they do serve food there. But I would still advise people not to go to the left turn distillery. Ended up walking out with a couple bottles, a growler, and some wearable swag. Went here with a group from work when we were in town for a conference. I booked a distillery tour and sampling for our group of about 15. It was super easy to call and arrange for the tour. The story behind the distillery and the inner workings made for a great experience and all the employees we came into contact with were very passionate about their products. Of course the samples also made for a fabulous time. We were also able to order a cocktail as well and make purchases after the tour. Highly recommend! read more

I was lucky enough to attend a two yelp events at Left Turn Distillery. The first one I was given samples of the spirits they offer. Their Brothers Old Tom Gin is the best gin I've ever tasted. I also got the pleasure of taking a tour and learning how all the spirits are made. All of the equipment is handmade by the master distiller, Brian. He is very friendly and down to earth. He is passionate about making spirits and you can tell he is enjoying what he is doing. This enjoyment is passed on to his employees, they are very happy and helpful. Don't be scared if their are two playful dogs running around, they are very friendly as well. The second event was their first "Sunday, Bloody Sunday,". I say first, hoping they will do it again. Both my husband and I were a fan and would love to do it again. They provide you a glass with the vodka of your choice, then you get to build your own Bloody Mary. They had tons of condiments for your bloody creation. There was a food truck parked outside to provide everyone with brunch or lunch. Again everyone was super happy and helpful. I guess you can say it's "Happy Land". I know I left both times with a smile and happy! And plan on going back, for some more happiness! read more

This place is the bomb.com. I'm a regular here, and I'm really not a regular anywhere else. The value for the quality of drinks here is incredible. It's a distillery, so obviously they use their own spirits in their drinks. I appreciate their creativity in their seasonal drink creations, and they're always fun to try. I would highly recommend trying their Hot Marg, the prickly pear daquiri, and my personal favorite- a dirty martini with their house made old tom gin (so good). The bartenders and kitchen staff are always friendly and accommodating. You should definitely give this place a try! read more

This is a great place. Went there when I was in the area and I'm really glad I did. Now, the location is not in the nicest part of town, not sketchy, just very industrial, but don't let that keep you from going. I had some tacos that were very good, even the strange spam ones. Yes, spam, and yes they were darned good. I had a couple of drinks with their blue corn whiskey, and it was strange, but good in a strange way. Oh my!!! So good. Hubby had a beer that was recommended that was barrel aged Cockness Monster. Really good also. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Had a snack of queso and chips very tasty. Ironically, I accidentally made a right turn instead of a left onto Girard... I know, duh, come on Danielle, it's in the name! ;) But after a U-y near La Cumbre, I was back on the right track. We had a tour set up for 7PM and sadly I had hit a bout of traffic and was a few minutes late, but I called ahead to let them know and they didn't mind waiting. Hooray. Thanks for being so kind, guys. We were greeted by Amber, who was super friendly, funny, informative and an all around perfect point of contact and bartender. She ran through the gin, vodka, rum and whiskey tastings like a pro. The gin was awesome, and like they say, they make gin for people who don't like gin. Well - I'm one of those people, and I totally loved it! The hint of juniper and sugar in the gin was fantastic. The vodka had a smooth finish. The pinon rum was really yummy... a strong after taste of pinon and would have paired so well with horchata in a coffee. The whiskey was blue corn and you sure could taste and smell it! Amber did such an amazing job of explaining the spirits and then made us each a cocktail to take with us on the tour. I had a Greyhound, and she personalized it with the addition of blue curacao, which I love, and it was probably the best Greyhound I've had! Part of that was the booze itself, and the rest was the creative addition and of course love from our bartendress! Once our cocktails were made, Brian, the jolly distiller, greeted us and took us on back. I was SO impressed that he actually made the machinery he used. How inventive and such a great use of his skills. He helped us to truly understand the distilling world... LOTS of information, but presented in such a comfortable way that it really sunk in. He was super down to earth and friendly, and just an all around cool guy to meet. I was so impressed. Plus, his story of the intern who dropped 10 gallons of molasses had me cracking up. I could picture that so well lmao. You totally have to get a tour and explanation of this place! What a homey distillery with such a family like vibe (they even had their cute pups runnin' around)! They have little peanuts and trail mix in little turnable containers. What's that kind of device called? Please someone help me lol... Like a gum ball machine but for nuts and the likes. :P Also, a tasty lookin' food truck was set up outside, but sadly it had left by the time our tour had finished. I'd love to try it next time though. So, follow Bugs Bunny's lead and make a Left Turn into this distillery. read more

Bloody Sunday! I swear this place is intoxicating. All in a good way--from the friendly and welcoming crew to the exotic concoctions they whip out for you. All the garnishes they lay out is like a smorgasbord and it brought joy to my heart--shrimp, olives, onions, celery, asparagus and more. Their bloody mary mix had just enough bite to keep it interesting. I ordered the Habanero vodka and it had a real sting to it, but went down so smooth. Loved it. I have been to this distillery twice, and it amazed me both times. One thing about me is I am a self-proclaimed sampler. I love sampling things to the point that I've started calling it a hobby! So I asked the bartender if there was any possible way I could sample their spirits, and she gave me what I would describe as a mini-flight, with one teensy little sample (about a sip's worth) of each spirit they sell: gin, vodka, whiskey, and rum. She also said I could sample their beers and ciders if I wanted. I couldn't believe this! How awesome! And I can say that each spirit was quite tasty. I'm a whiskey girl myself, but I also enjoyed the other spirits. Their whiskey, by the way, amazed me. I've never tasted a whiskey quite like it. It really tastes like blue corn, and it's so smooth. After I went through the mini-flight, I decided to order their Autumn Old Fashioned. This drink was stunningly delicious. I savored every sip. The second time I came here, I had yet another old fashioned. Then, my husband asked me if I wanted to try a different drink and split it with him, so I agreed. Per our server's recommendation, we tried the Red Chile Chocolate Martini. The first sip I took, the world melted away. SO GOOD. My husband took a sip and I could see he had a similar experience. It tasted so creamy, chocolatey, and had just enough alcohol to give it an extra punch along with the red chile. This drink amazed us. The employees here seem quite helpful, accommodating, and friendly. The bartender I talked with at my first visit was very informative and happy to answer my questions. Plus, she let me sample everything I wanted to try, which made me happy and tends to make it more likely that I'll be a returning customer to a place. The drinks seem to be made with such care, and the recipes themselves have unique ingredients mixed with those tasty spirits. I think these reasons are why the drinks here have made it on my list of favorite drinks here in Albuquerque. I'd definitely come back here again. Located in the "Brewing District" near La Cumbre Brewery and ABQ's other great distillery, 365, Left Turn puts the focus on delicious Spirits lovingly distilled in a family operation. Brian has more experience distilling than is legal - I'll let him explain when you visit - and it's apparent in the glass. Thanks to my radical Chicana Lawyer Daughter, who knows I likes me some #Local, I got a Tasting Tour as a Regalo Navideño. So I can tell you the Old Tom Gin, the Corn Whiskey and the Piñon Rum are delicious and their Vodka is clean and smooth. Left Turn is one of twelve (12!) distillers In. The. World. making Old Tom style gin. Guess how many distillers are making Piñon Rum? And their cocktails are yummy, too. I tried a Greyhound (the vodka did it's job; it disappeared) and a House cocktail made with Left Turn's own Ginger Brew and the Gin that was delightfully delicious.
