This little cozy local brewery was so peaceful. The food & beer were so tasty! The employees were so kind! The owner amazing lady! Pet friendly! Irish music on Thursday nights. Take the family & enjoy!

    Nice patio.

Since the brewery was a short walk from our AirBnB, we decided to stroll over for a beer before dinner. (Because we only had a beer my review is limited--read other reviews to learn about any food that they serve.) They have a nice patio and plenty of indoor seat at tables or the bar, so even though the parking lot was pretty full, it was not overly crowded despite being fairly busy. The patio area is "dog friendly." The bartender was friendly and promptly poured the beer we selected -- "Hoptoberfest" -- a refreshing German marzen style. Despite the name, beer was lightly, but appropriately hopped, far less than an IPA, so don't let the name scare you away if you don't like hops. I enjoyed my beer and found it to be a good, though not outstanding, example of the "Oktoberfest" style. I'd be interested trying their other beers but I'm only in town for a few more days. Next visit for sure.

In the Village of Los Ranchos - I'd just gotten my hair done at Christens Salon in front and decided to mosey on back to the Hops Brewery restaurant in back. The thought of their Green Chili Cheese Burger was too strong to ignore and the timing was perfect. The server was very helpful in deciding which beer so I decided on the "New Kid" beer which was a very good choice. It complimented the GCCB just right. It also came with a perfect Coleslaw and slice of dill pickle. The Coleslaw was crunchy with a little bit of black pepper and green chili to compliment the burger and perk up a typically bland salad. Id definitely order it again. A delicious blend and nothing overpowered the other. But the GCCB with their "Hops sauce" was as wonderful as I remembered it. The meat was cooked just as I'd ordered it... medium rare/well...Not overcooked. The meat was Not a frozen patty but made to order. My fabulous GCCB and beer meal came to $19.00 plus tax and it was soooo worth it. The servers, Karina and Kate, got my order perfect and the service was great. There was a nice afternoon crowd growing and I could tell that a lot were regulars. They have a very good menu and I'll try something new next time. The atmosphere and decor were wonderful with lots of carved wood so it's a very comfortable place to come. There's a nice large outdoor eating area PLUS this restaurant is DOG FRIENDLY!!! They have water bowls for your BFFs. Forget the fast food drive thrus and come here.

Ken Wimmer's beer is as unique as the adobe church building where it is served. Hops has three patios, one is east facing with a great view of the Bosque and the Sandia Mountains. The two others welcome customers on the front, west facing side. Back to the beer. Tipsy Cow, Dad Joke, Hop Hill and Irish Tan are all a good menu too. Apps and entrees are familiar with a nice twist. Exhibit A: Pub-B-Q. ... One more thing on the location. You can drive or (if in Los Ranchos) take a walk along the Chamizal Lateral (acequia) and sneak in the back entrance!

Fiesta burger with bacon and fried egg!

The brewery is a gem in the middle of Los Ranchos. The building and atmosphere of the place is uniquely Albuquerque. Right away a server welcomed me in I sat at the bar and ordered the honey wheat locally brewed beer and the fiesta burger I added bacon and and fried egg on top. Let me tell you it was the most delicious burger I've ever had. Highly recommend this place!

This one is a hidden gem! I didn't know this was a place until a friend of mine invited me over for lunch. They have a dog park!!! Their patio seating is an off-leash dog park. That is such a neat idea! The green chile cheese burger I ordered was massive. And made me full pretty quickly. I'm not much of a drinker, but I enjoyed trying the flights with a friend. The dog park was such a fun vibe but the inside was very nice as well.

This place is little gem!! The inside bar is beautiful and the outside patio is too. Food and beer were delicious! Can't wait to come back!

Cool little place off the beaten path

Queso and chips did not disappoint, green chili cheeseburger was delicious, simple and good, as for inside it almost looks like an old church vibe with stained glass windows, wait staff is very nice and attentive. Oh and yes the beer is good, we had a porter and an ipa both very nice.

    Mmmmmmm!

What a fun new place! (New for me!)…read more The burrito was a whopper, and the tacos we got were filling as well. Loved the brownie dessert and the mango guava agua Fresca too! All in all, great meal and a great price. Two drinks, two dinners and a dessert for $48 before top.

We read a lengthy glowing review of La Reforma in a recent ABQ Journal issue and had high hopes of…read morefinding something similar to the tacos we used to get in and near Cuernavaca, Morelos where we lived 2008-13. Sadly, we found kind of a mixed bag. First, the standout items. The margaritas were fantastic; some of the best we've had in the USA and extremely generous. The pinto bean sides were some of the best we've had since returning to the States in 2013. Perhaps not quite as great as those of the shuttered El Cotorro but still stellar. Next, the tacos. We tried only two of the several tacos on offer - The El Pastor and the Pescado. Both were served in what was called "corn tortillas" but these differed from virtually any corn tortillas we've ever had in Mexico or elsewhere. They were at least twice as thick as your typical corn tortilla found in just about all Mexican taco places in Mexico and elsewhere. The consistency and taste were quite different from your normal corn tortilla also. In fact, they really didn't seem to have much taste at all, of corn or anything else. Now to the fillings. At the aforementioned El Cotorro, the meat for the Al Pastor tacos was cooked on a vertical rotating spit which was the only way we ever saw it cooked in Mexico. The meat La Reforma used in their al pastor tacos was more chunky and way drier than any we ever had in Mexico or at El Cotorro. It didn't taste similar to any al pastor tacos were ever had in Mexico. It also kind of seemed like it wasn't cooked recently whereas in Mexico you can watch the cook with a large knife carve off the meat from the vertical spit right in front of you. Usually the time between the carving and it sitting in front of you is under 10 seconds. The fish taco at La Reforma was disappointing. The fish resembled a fish stick but one without much flavor. We wouldn't order it again. We gave the mini-churros a try for dessert. Because they were so small, they were way crispier than your typical regular-sized churro. We might return but we'd skip the al pastor and the fish tacos and try some of the other tacos. But we strongly suggest that they dump their current "corn tortillas" because they're not that good. Way too thick and virtually tasteless. Lo siento. Kudos for the margaritas and the beans. The rest of what we tried didn't live up to the recent glowing review in the ABQ Journal.
