At just 20 mins away from southeast Albuquerque, Rumor Brewing serves the Cedar Crest community. The place felt homey and rustic, with a nice view of the mountains. There was a bit of live music on the patio after some rain. Both outside and inside spaces were plenty. The young server was very attentive and was on top of things. We went with friends so we sampled a few things. Our friends ordered the chicken bbq pizza and dry rub wings, while we ordered the chicken pesto and the New Mexican pizza. The thin crust on all pizzas was perfect, with a good balance between crunchy and soft. The green chile from the New Mexican pizza had a kick, the bbq chicken was tasty, and the pesto was smooth and mild. We all agreed that the pizzas needed more cheese.The wings were crispy but the rub didn't have flavor and the chicken was a bit dry. For our drinks, I got the Golden Ale while everyone else got La Madera. The Golden was smooth, lagers, with a bit of hoppiness. La Madera was a mild, dark, sweet ale that was quite good. Overall, this was a very nice experience on a rainy evening, with good brick oven pizzas and a nice dark beer. The wings, though could have been better. Took a cruise to Cedar Crest just to try this place and we were not disappointed. It's a small cozy place with a nice outside area which drew me to the place. This is my ABQ Beer Passport review for Rumor Brewing. Stopped by after a hike with the fam. Hidden behind a couple other buildings and not much to look at in comparison to the shiny new taprooms in ABQ. What they do have is great tasting beer, great tasting food, and fantastic service! We ate pizza, fries, Albuquerque turkey,& green chile burgers. All more flavorful than your average pub food. We sampled the stout, white wheat, red ale, and I particularly enjoyed their La Madera which was a dark lager. All and all, definitely worth seeking out for sure! While they sling food to help draw people in, you can tell the head brewer is proud of his beer! read more

Rumor Brewing is a cool kid-friendly brewery with an array of drinks and food. I was impressed that not only did they have flights of beers, but really good variety of a food menu. My friends invited me out and sat outside to enjoy the weather. When I arrived, they had already ordered their beers and food. I believe they ordered the Caprese, a burger with fries, 2 pizzas: the Margarita and Forti. The food, while cold, tasted fantastic. I loved the oven brick crust of the pizzas, and the fries were still crispy. The salad, dressing and basil on the Caprese was satisfying. I ordered a canned Sprite and Non Acoholic Mojito and enjoyed those as well. It was a good time. We watched our kids enjoy the live music and play corn hole. Side note: It's a bit dusty and parking is abundant. They also have indoor seating next to billiards and shuffle board. You can order drinks and food there at the window and inside. Service is on point. They came looking for me after I had ordered. They also use numbers for tables. But bc I ordered a drink, they called out for me. Tip: wear good closed toe shoes. Went for a drive to the Crest, saw this little brewery with a nice patio for our puppy, had to check it out! So glad we did, small town vibes. The lady running this place was groovy and rambunctious, super friendly. My wife and I shared a pizza and some fries, I washed mine down with the Czech Pilsner. Pils wasn't bad, little on the bready side, but it was good . The pizza was the star of the show! Perfect crust, crispy bottom and pillowy middle. You can tell that the sauce was homemade! Ambience was nice, I especially enjoyed the wine bottles lighting system, very beautiful. Service was great. The hard cider was delicious The pizza was just ok though. It was simultaneously burnt crust on one side and still doughy/undercooked on the other. Flavor of the toppings was good. Service is good. Ambiance is lovely. I don't drink much brew but I guess it was good. I came for the pizza. The pizza is ok. It's thin, cracker crust pizza which is not my favorite. They have good condiments, though. And it was well prepared, if small. If you want excellent pizza, check out Pizza Barn in Edgewood. If you want something excellent in the area then check out Ribs on the other side of the post office. But if you want a brewhouse with some food then check out Rumor Brewing. read more

This little joint was just the thing on my way back from the Sandia Crest, tucked out if the way, as I was zinging down the road. On a whim, I turned around just after I saw the sign "brewery". On a Sunday evening, a great find. Nice shaded/protected patio area where I could sit with my dog and FANTASTIC burger and server (a young lady who was very helpful and on the ball, with beer tasters and good input). Although I did not care for the beer in the long run, my food was amazing, and the timing of happening upon such a place was perfect. I enjoyed my visit to rumor brewing minus the drunk dramatic man that was clearly overserved and was trying to drive off. My friend who came here as well tried to prevent him from driving off to be met with drama from others at the bar including the bartender. Bad look for a bar, especially with those fines the bar and server would get if he was caught. We didn't drink, getting a kombucha instead wondering if we should stay and felt very unwelcomed. Hopefully the owners take giving some one too much alcohol and driving seriously because on 14 it would be easy to cause wreck. read more

June 5, 2023 - Rumors Brewing, (Cedar Crest, NM) We came in for a pizza and drinks on a Monday morning. The Brewery sets back from the road a short ways behind Cabra Coffee. It is to the left hand side from Cabra and a short way down. We were the first ones there. They open at 11 am and that's when we arrived. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat indoors. Our server was friendly. He explained that the meat toppings were not available. That limited our pizza selections so we ordered an "Alta Margarita Pizza" - cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, red onion, and kalamata olives. I ordered their west coast IPA and my wife ordered a Chardonnay. The interior is a little rustic, but they have a colorful hand painted mural that is kind of cool. They have a pool table and a shuttle board that are also cool. We played a game of shuffle board while we waited for our pizza. The pizza came out in about 15 minutes, which is what you would expect from a brick oven pizza. I thought the pizza was tasty and the west coast IPA was flavorful and refreshing. Not as hoppy as I might have expected. Overall, this was a nice brewery, intimate and enjoyable with good pizza and beer. read more

I have given this place two opportunities before I wrote my review and unfortunately it came down to this. First time we came I ordered a Margherita pizza with half order of the house salad. Pizza came out about 45 mins later and was completely mushy and dough was raw. Had to send it back to get recooked. It was better the second time cooked. They gave me a free beer for next time to make up for it. Awesome on their part. 11/12/23 Came back to give it a second try and it was worse than the first. Ordered a Margherita Pizza and Caesar salad. After waiting 40 mins, we were brought a cheese pizza and the waitress said "unfortunately my chef did not pick his battles, we are out of Caesar dressing" we asked about why we have a cheese pizza and they were out of basil and didn't put mozzarella cheese. No communication, we would've gladly ordered a different pizza. I really wanted to like this place but driving here from Albuquerque twice and having issues is not acceptable. We left hungry and drove back to Albuquerque. I'll stick to the local pizza places. read more

It seems like every time we come here the quality goes down, I've talked to the owner before and I guess he doesn't care, my wife ordered a week done hamburger and it was raw, I ordered a pizza with extra sauce, the first one had none the second did but it wasn't cooked all the way, this is simple stuff and they can't even do that. read more

What a great little find up in Cedar Crest. This place is a one person show and the service is slow due to her handling all the ordering, serving and much more. It is worth the wait!!!!! We arrived on a sunny afternoon and found a spot under one of the outdoor umbrellas. We were not alone on the patio as you had families, and friends getting together and hungry hikers waiting for their pizza and beer. We ordered the salad and pizza along with a couple pints. The beer was fantastic and a great pairing to my pizza and salad. The salad was filled with fresh greens and and the dressing complimented the entire meal. My pizza had a nice crunchy crust and just enough cheese the strung out when you grabbed your next slice. We will be back and believe me, IT IS WORTH THE WAIT! read more

I had the Bug Juice Sour, which was crisp and with notes of cucumber and my hubby had the Seco Stout. Both were good! We had the Italian Harvest Salad, with salami, banana peppers, roasted peppers and more, which was yummy with a fresh with vinaigrette. Then we had the BBQ Chicken Pizza. It came out fast and crusty! My girlfriend and I used to really love this place. It seems like it has gone downhill since a year ago. After a hike we like to come here for a pint and some food but yesterday's visit was just awful. They were out of most of the low ABV beers and also a lot of the food. They should have also said they were out of salad because the salads we were given contained a lot of rotten lettuce and the toppers were sparse ($13 for each salad!). I asked for vinaigrette and I was given just oil; when I told the server about it, he seemed bewildered(?). I was ravenous so I ate what I could from the salad, but the beer was really gross and syrupy (because they literally didn't have any beer below 6.5%), so I didn't finish it. Later on yesterday I felt tummy grumbles and I'm pretty sure I know why now. My friend who ordered the pizza said he also didn't feel great afterward, but it did look pretty darn greasy, so that may be on him. For a Saturday afternoon, it just seemed like they weren't running at full capacity. Maybe they were understaffed (though you wouldn't know since you have to order outside), but maybe in the future just say you're only serving pizza than trying to pass salads that have black goop all over the lettuce pieces. It's a shame because historically I've enjoyed their establishment, which is why I'm not rating it lower. read more

There was a shuffleboard inside- nice touch! The beers were solid, but the real winner here is the pizza. Wood fired and decadent. The flavors were on point and we had enough for leftovers. Such a waste of potential on this great location. We used to come here a lot after bike rides and hikes. The service was never speedy but the ambiance was nice and the guest taps made the wait not such a big deal. And the pizza was pretty good. Then they did away with the guest beers. There is just something off with the house beers. They've always been bad but there were other options where there is no other option now. The pizza isn't what it used to be either. It's most likely to come out cold and forty five minutes later and definitely not as good as it once was. I keep trying this place every six months or so because I want so bad for it to be better but this past weekend may be my last visit. read more

Out first time here and what a pleasant surprise this brewery was. We tried their sweater weather Belgium style beer and was simply delicious. We also tried their green pizza and very good. The brewery is pet friendly and plants of open areas to enjoy your beer in the age of Covid. The staff enforces the mask policy and if you don't have a mask are nice enough to give you one before you seat at your table. We are looking forward to go back and enjoy some of their other beers. read more

Note the name change to Rumor Brewing. An outdoorsy but cozy kind of place in the East Mountains with a view of the back of the Sandias. I'm local and come here once in a while for a pint or two. Definitely not the shoulder to shoulder ABQ experience. The house beers are evolving, with guest taps by La Cumbre. Pizza is dark and chewy 700F almost Neapolitan. They have always featured Belgian style ales which can be hard to find in a world of peel your tongue off the roof of your mouth IPAs. The Belgian Dubbel was wonderful, the Parasol Light Trappist (at 4.8 ABV) even better. There is a SMSH IPA (guest tap) for aficionados. Highly recommended read more
