    Green chile burrito

Walked by Frontier and couldn't resist grabbing the green Chile breakfast burrito. I love how they have their walk up window. Perfect option for when you are in a hurry and just need to grab and go. Frontier's employees got it going on when comes to quick and friendly service. Even with the breakfast rush, my burrito came out quick.. and as always so good. Gotta love this Nob Hill staple.

I don't think Frontier has the best food in New Mexico, but it's definitely an Albuquerque staple and worth a visit for the experience alone. It's fascinating to see how smoothly the whole system runs! Don't be intimidated by the long lines. They move fast, and there are even signs showing estimated wait times depending on where you're standing. There's plenty of parking in the back, and tables are cleaned quickly between guests. We decided to share several items: the famous cinnamon roll, a breakfast burrito, carne adovada burrito, green chili hash browns, and the Frontier burrito. Since I can't handle spicy food, I asked for the chili sauce on the side for my breakfast burrito. Surprisingly, our favorite ended up being the carne adovada burrito which is the red chili-marinated pork, it had a bit of heat but was delicious! The green chili hash browns were also really tasty. The cinnamon roll, however, was a little bland, and the Frontier burrito felt too heavy. Service was quick and friendly, prices were affordable, and overall, it's a fun local experience you should try at least once when in Albuquerque.

Frontier is a delightful Albuquerque classic. Well the line looks long when you enter, it moves fast and the food comes out promptly. The enchiladas were delicious and it was an overall great experience. A wonderful amount of food for the amount that you spend as well. I would certainly recommend stopping here if you're in Albuquerque for both the food and the experience!

Wow! We were really impressed with Frontier. It's in a sketch neighborhood, we were kinda worried seeing all the security. But forgot once we were inside. We were excited to try them out considering they've been the longest running restaurant. We ordered: Enchilada w/xmas sauce, red/green Bean/cheese burrito Frontier cheeseburger Green chile stew Fries Fresh tortillas OMG, everything was so damn good! We really appreciated the worker lady who was so attentive towards us. She was like a momma from another poppa! Frontier lived up to the hype and we could not believe how fast we got our food and how good it all was!

This place was busy, but the line moved efficiently. I can see why it's as busy as it is! The food is glorious. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the ABQ.

If you come from Albuquerque you absolutely know about the frontier. It's been here forever and doesn't ever disappoint. The homemade tortillas are delicious (I brought some home with me) the food is consistently delicious as is the cost and folks that work here are friendly and kind. This place is a greasy spoon so don't expect an ambiance of an upscale restaurant. But it's worth the visit. Glad to bring my boyfriend here to experience this abq staple. Thanks Frontier for always making feel like I'm home.

Saw this was the second most reviewed place on Yelp so came by for a visit. I had the breakfast burrito sausage, a cinnamon roll, and a side of hash browns. The burrito was huge! Really tasty when you added the salsa to it. Cinnamon roll was all right. Loved the charm of the place plus if you want to people watch just hang out here after you eat. You'll definitely see some interesting folks. If I'm ever back in town I would stop again.

We were in the area and wanted to try this place. You wait in line to order and then find your table. The line moves pretty fast so don't get worried about how long the line is. My wife had the breakfast burrito and said it was very good. I had eggs and sausage and thought the sausage was something they would serve at a school. It's a very popular place but it's wouldn't make a special trip to eat there again

Loved it! Got the vegetarian burrito without cheese with the green chile and it came with an extra tortilla with a honey packet. The fluffy tortillas here are made fresh to order. I was told by the restaurant they are lard free but I heard elsewhere they might have dairy (I didn't ask at the restaurant). It was fun to watch the tortillas being made fresh! The green chile had some spice which we really enjoyed and the beans were very flavorful. I loved looking at the paintings in the different rooms in the big restaurant.

The Frontier is a New Mexico treasure. In house fresh flour tortillas and prices have stayed reasonable for college kids across the street. I personally like to get the green chili stew with a cinnamon roll on the side. Combined ownership with the also successful Golden Pride establishments will ensure that it will be around for a long time. A must try. Always busy but they have plenty of parking.

This cozy diner truly was a godsend. Out of all the soups- the green chili stew warmed my entire soul. I felt like a frozen cowboy enjoying a bowl of stew overlooking a frozen frontier. The soup reminded me of home and hope itself. The sweet roll nearly took me out it was so mouthwatering. The taco was so huge -it made me believe in Christmas again. I still can't spell Albiekirkeey but I'll never forget the Frontier.

This spot was recommended to us by one of my cousins with ties to NM. She said the food here was good and nailed it. What we didnt expect, was the sheer size of this place. Frontier started as a corner store, and then bought up the stores next to it over the years and turned those into dining halls. We came in from the back and noticed that very point. One dining hall after another to walk through before we got to the counter that had seating all around. They have a large kitchen and an even impressive menu. My girlfriend and I were hungry, but knew that we couldn't take on a whole lot. Since it was Tuesday, i took on their taco special of two crispy ground beef and a soda. They had the Coke digital machines so i had my choice of anything. next to them were two pots filled with what they call: hot salsa. It was actually really good, but because this was my first visit, I didn't want to mess with my tacos. I knew they wouldn't fill me up so i had to try their green enchiladas with classic New Mexican green chilies with chicken. They were good with the yellow corn tortillas, but their chicken lacked flavor. The rice was good, but the beans that my girlfriend got with her taco plate were cold. We ordered some fries that were perfectly crispy and ended our meal with one of their Frontier Sweet Rolls. It was a giant roll, and for the price of it, we weren't surprised by what it brought to the table. It wasnt heavily on the cinnamon, but definitely had plenty of butter. We shared one and it was fantastic. We cant wait to get another opportunity to return to Albuquerque and have it all again.

This is a pharmacy/store/diner with a very good local vibe. The pharmacy has a bit of everything, from books, jewelry, and toys, to clothing, decor, and kitchen stuff. And when we thought there was no space for a diner, we found where the magic takes place just around the corner, where we were welcomed and seated. People were friendly, kitchen staff were getting stuff out quickly, and our server was ok. Efficiency was a clear target for everyone and our food was on our table in no time. For food, our friends ordered the breakfast burritos (with red only and a Christmas version), , the hubs ordered the carne adobada, and I ordered the tamal plate with red and green, just like I like I like it . Everyone was pleased with their choices. The burritos were big and tasty. The carne adobada had a lot of deliciously marinated pork and the steamed potatoes were quite a good addition. The tortilla with butter was simple yet delicious, with a firm and thick tortilla. The tamal plate was almost perfect. The red and green sauces were amazing, but I was slightly partial to the spicier green chile sauce. The masa on the tamales was firm and good. If there was one change I would make, it would be for the tamales to have more filling. Overall, we had a good experience at a very unique place! I personally wasn't a fan of the sopapilla bread, it had a bit of a sour taste that didn't sit right with me, so I didn't finish it. My husband, on the other hand, really liked it. The toppings were simple, just beans and green and red chile, tasty, but nothing too exciting. We also ordered a flour tortilla with butter (recommended by a friend), and that was really good! I actually enjoyed that more than the sopapilla. We had dinner reservations later, so we just stopped by for a small bite. The attached pharmacy was cool, it reminded me of a New Mexican mom-and-pop version of CVS and looked like a fun spot to pick up local gifts.
