    Breakfast Burrito

We really enjoyed our food and the service here! We had the breakfast burrito and the eggs benny. The eggs benny was not too spicy for me. Both meals were double the portion size we could eat. Bring an appetite. We thought waiting in the long line to order (20-30 minutes) increased it enough but it didn't! The line and hot dining area did take away from the experience a bit but be sure to try this restaurant. Perhaps we hit the worst of Saturday brunch hours (11am).

First time dining here, we loved the food, vibes, and location. Great menu, hard to decide, so I tried the Duck Hash, which is said to be one of the more popular dishes here. Superb, great duck, potatoes, green chile, mushrooms, onion, brussels sprouts (nice), roasted garlic, cheddar, served on a bit of lovely red chile. The two eggs were cooked exactly as requested (Over Med). A huge portion was taken home for the next day. My wife had the Carne Adovada Sandwich, which was also outstanding. The pork was moist, tender, and had the same great red chile as the hash, piled with avocado, pickled onions on an outstanding brioche bun. She had a salad on the side, and the dressing was delicious. Very nice staff. You order, get a number, then pick a table, and the food is then brought to you. We will come back!

This is a serve and sit place. The managers saw our group coming and held a larger table. Food was hot and delicious. A fun take on chilaquiles! Also the blue corn pancakes were plenty sweet without syrup... however pancakes in general are the best carriers of syrup!

Small bustling place serving wonderful breakfast options! Breakfast or brunch is "my thing!" I love to share special places and this casual spot is that, special. Grab a menu, get in line, order. You'll get a number and then a table but don't worry that will happen before your food is served. The food is fantastic and they would have gotten my last star if they served lattes. They do serve black coffee. Well worth the visit!

First timer who enjoyed the chorizo gravy n biscuits and chorizo & egg torta. Wife had the Americana. Outstanding! Highest quality! The chorizo, bacon slices, bread, avocados, eggs were tasty.

First time here and I must say, well worth it. I love the atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Will be returning

Man o man the servings here are HUGE! You definitely get your money's worth of food, great tasting and very affordable. The concept of the shop is cool, you have to wait in line and order/pay before you eat and sit down, kinda like a food truck. You also have to get everything yourself, drinks/napkins/refills and to-go-boxes but like I said.. it's a cool concept that isn't done anywhere else. The tables and waiting area are too close together though, not a lot of room or sense of privacy. Food 10/10 Affordability 10/10 Ambiance 8/10

Biscuit and chorizo gravy... All gravy, no chorizo chunks or crumbles. Get the French toast instead!
    Rachel M.

Went back for the French toast, and I've come to the conclusion that homemade is better than any restaurant's. The Shop cuts thick slices and includes fresh fruit on the side, but the edges were crustier/tougher than they should've been (needed a longer soak in the egg batter), and overall, the flavor was lacking (more cinnamon needed). Service is always friendly, but both brunch dishes I've ordered now have been underwhelming and too pricey. Maybe I'm just ordering wrong...

    Breakfast Burrito
    Daniel D.

This morning my dad called me as I was getting up. He told me him and my brother were there. It was my very first visit so you know I was excited. The place was pretty packed. Considering by the time I showered and got ready it had been at least 20 to 30 minutes before I arrived to meet them. I was shocked when I saw a line at the door. I found my dad and brother towards the front of the line and they showed me the menu. I really wasn't sure what to expect. I found myself tempted to get the burrito that was until I discovered they didn't have a green chili option. It's red chili they smother the burrito in. Don't get wrong I enjoy red chili I'm just very picky and selective about it. Being my first time I wasn't sure if I wanted to roll the dice. I ended up settling with the cheesesteak sandwich accompanied by some good ol freedom fries. My dad got the steakhouse mac and cheese and my brother settled with the breakfast burrito. My dad let me have a taste of the Mac and cheese it was very creamy. I took my first bite of the cheesesteak. I wasn't sure about the choice for red onions but I will say it complimented the creamy cheesy flavor that surrounded the meat. I was surprised to see jalapeños inside. Surprisingly the jalapeños didn't overpower the creamy delicious sandwich. It complimented it very nicely. My brothers burrito was practically a giant heap of egg and bacon smothered in chili. I'm not gonna lie I'm half tempted to try it next time. It goes without saying this place is great. The staff is very friendly. I was worried about seating but by the time we ordered the food there were plenty of spots available. Just a note they mention not to seat yourself until you order your food but don't worry if you can manage the line, you'll have no trouble finding a spot by the time you order your food. Overall it was a great experience and I'll definitely be back!

Amazing customer service. It was packed for Sunday bunch (11:30) the line went quick. The food was delicious! They have lots of gluten free options! I definitely would recommend coming to The Shop as a bunch/breakfast spot.

Chicken fried rib eye special (foreground) and huevos rancheros
    Lisa O.

The Shop is one of our favorite breakfast spots. Food is always spot on, abundant, and service is efficient and friendly. I took my husband for Father's Day and he got their special for the day, a chicken fried rib eye. It was the size of the plate and was served with country fried potatoes, gravy and pickled green beans. It was delicious and he was very happy. I had the huevos rancheros and was immediately in my happy place. They had blue corn tortillas underneath, organic eggs on top, and a side of black beans and country fried potatoes. We both took home leftovers that made for another meal the next day. Don't sleep on The Shop. You will leave happy and most likely with leftovers.

Here's a cleaned-up version that keeps your energy and voice:…read more Okay, so for the 66 Diner: we stopped here during our Route 66 road trip, which most of you know I've been taking very seriously. I've been hitting all the spots I can and being very strategic about the food stops. This place is nostalgic, historic, and right along the way in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It gives you all the old-school diner vibes immediately. I will say, all the young ladies working there were extremely nice, and the service was great. It definitely passes the vibes test. The burger tasted like that classic all-American diner burger. Not too greasy, but not trying to be some "beyond meat" situation either. Just good stuff. The fries were great, and very, very, very importantly: it passes the ranch test. We had a side salad with ranch, and the ranch tasted good on the salad and even better with the fries dipped in it. We also had the 66 Burger, which comes with green chiles. I had never had that on a burger before, but it was a really good twist and a nice local touch. Green chiles seem to be a big thing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, so it was cool to try that there. The onion rings were great too. If I hadn't been so full, and if it wasn't noon with eight more hours of driving ahead of us, I definitely would've gotten a shake too. All in all, absolutely great classic Route 66 vibes. It has all the nostalgia, great service, and great food. 10/10 recommend. Everyone should go.

Both were delicious and enough food for two people. One of the best shakes I've ever had! Came to the table all dressed up in a tall soda glass with enough extra served up in the stainless steel shake mixing cup it was made in. This place is a must stop while out on your Route 66 travels.

The area looks old and poor, but near the restaurant, we didn't see anything sketchy. When we were leaving, we did see some homeless people at the main intersection, but we didn't see anything we'd describe as sketchy. We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. Five star service and food. I highly recommend Vick's Vittles and hope that I'm in the area again so I can try more of this delicious food.

Our waitress did come back to bring the coffee. Before she got there we were discussing the fact that the entire staff was new. She must have overheard us and took it as some kind of slight to her. Two minutes later the manager came over to inform us that we were being rude to her server and that she would be taking over our service. After some discussion my wife said, "this is ridiculous, guess we won't be coming here again" the manager said "well I'll cancel your order and you can leave now".
