Curious toast looked so good so I decided to stop in. What a cute place with quirky decor! I decided on the salmon sunrise on sourdough and it was so good. You get a choice of a side and I decided on the fruit and it was delicious! I left feeling satisfied. The service was great! Wish I could've tried more of their toasts!

You want a quirky ambiance? This place has it in SPADES. Curious toast has some delicious sour dough toast options (get the Disco Elvis!), but they also have excellent coffee selections and some rather tasty looking waffles. The decor is adorable and eclectic, and there is plenty of seating tucked away in small alcoves to hang with friends and other folks. + the Raspberry Oatmilk Matcha was incredible! Quick and kind service too! This is a fun place to take your out of state friends who are down for a casual and fun brunch.

Amazing ambiance. Reminds me of Meow Wolf. Food and coffee were excellent. Service is top notch.

Quirky atmosphere in a cute way, it was a nice girls brunch location for coffee snacks and gossip. Coffee was good and will definitely be back. Service is order at counter and order gets delivered to table that was fine.

I ordered The Benji Toast "Avacado Toast" with fresh fruit for 16 bucks. Single piece of Toast and not a whole lot of Avocado. The building is historic and has some charm. The staff are friendly. Overall the Avocado Toast was good, but had ZERO seasoning and there was no Salt or Pepper on the table. Curious Toast is a Hipsters paradise overall I'd say they are good not great and today the Pinnaple was k King.

Join us as we review Curious Toast Cafe on Central and 8th. We were pleasantly surprised. Great food, efficient yet non-obtrusive service, and a delightful setting in an old building that I remember was the office of one of our state's power brokers. This is really a great place and worth your trip to downtown. Plenty of street and alley parking. Highly recommended. Just click on the following YouTube video link to see what we ate and listen to Mike give directions that may (or may not) get you here. https://youtu.be/_JySFA8xCJs?si=Dkf2juDeVp2y8BpaJoin u

This place is really fun and unique. They have all different fancy toasts of savory and sweet varieties, ones with calabacitas, red chile, pineapple sauce, and other tasty creations. They do a really good job of flavor combinations. They can also do gluten free toast which is also good. I enjoy the presentation on wooden boards. It is also a coffee shop with good drinks and flavor options. The setting of the place itself is really unique, quaint, fun, and artsy. It's in a multi-story old house or boarding house. There are a wide variety of tables and chairs in various rooms. It's fun to go exploring all the different rooms and levels. You can eat anywhere you'd like, including on an outdoor balcony overlooking downtown, or at a big outdoor patio. There is local art on the walls of all the rooms.

Eclectic restaurant with a lot of funky seating options. You order at the counter and find a seat of choice. Metered parking right in front but also residential parking around the area Burque melt - 3/5, flavors were basic bfast foods and didn't wow as a super toast Chai latte - 5/5, perfect flavor Steak caprese - 4.5/5, solid sandwich, steak could have been a little flavorful to wow

In town for a memorial service, this little gem was located in the office building diagonally across the street from our hotel. What a find!!! I had biscuits and green chile gravy with over easy eggs and potatoes and everything was so flavorful! My son had churro french toast and loved it too. We brought people back the next day and they had nothing but rave reviews too. The gentleman behind the counter was great with suggestions and accommodations. Food came out fairly quickly especially for the outstanding quality. Yes, it has a price tag, however, the few extra dollars were completely worth it!

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile. The location is convenient and has side parking at no cost. The place had lots of character and charm. Lots to see and look at, tons of seats of all varieties and the menu was large. I ordered a chai with almond milk and toasted marshmallow flavoring and the elote toast. Everything was delicious. I was served quickly and servers were super nice and helpful. I would say it's a little pricey $20 for a toast and tea but I enjoyed it.

Cute older home that has been renovated into a restaurant. Line was long, so initially I worried we wouldn't be able to find a place to sit. Ordered up front. Cute decor throughout. Unique for sure. Food was delicious. I got the salmon sunrise. The capers were a smidge salty for my taste and they took a little away from it but not enough for me to not eat to my heart's content and share with my husband. The potatoes were done perfectly. Hot chocolate came out first (of course I had to get whipped cream, which is extra). So many choices for drinks and food. We will definitely be back so I can try other offerings.

Not for people who are easily overstimulated. There is a LOT going on. Be ready to order when you walk in the door; not first-time guest friendly. Seating is all over the place, literally. No options for high chairs or booster seats and we had a toddler. Menu isn't detailed enough; cute drink names but no explanation for what's in the drinks to help you choose. If you order at the counter, you can ask. If you are not a repeat customer and need more time, you can find a table first and look over the menu but there's no staff available to answer questions. You have to go back and stand in the ordering line, which may be on a different floor from the table you sat at. Pay and tip before you've been served anything at all or even seated. We sat ourselves and ended up with an issue with our drinks but we'd already tipped in advance. The food was not good. It was pretty but bland. No salt or pepper on the table to even help the eggs. Scrambled eggs were folded and not scrambled. Smoked salmon was freezing cold. Banana bread French toast wasn't French toast at all. It was grilled banana bread. Even our baby wouldn't eat the food so we tried to give her fruit, which she loves. The strawberries were unripe and hard so she wouldn't even eat those. She spat out the bacon and the eggs. All foods she eats regularly at home. We didn't get the drinks we ordered and paid for. After eating, the line was super long to even ask about them. We caught a passing waitress and asked. A different waitress (the one who served our food happened to be walking by and joined in the conversation. We said we didn't get our drinks. The one who served us said oh, she's still making them (pointing to the other waitress). That one said oh, I delivered them to this other table with your number on it. We'd eaten on a whole different floor. The number had been taken when the food was dropped off and then reused for a different customer. So our lattes were just sitting unattended in a place where people and dogs are everywhere. Yes, they allow dogs inside. There was a fly and no air circulation in the basement room we ate in. All the staff was super nice but you couldn't pay me go go back here. We spent a lot of money in today's economy and didn't enjoy any of our food or the experience. This place is for a specific customer base.

This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. And speaking of doors, while I was there there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. That's usually the universal coffee signal for yep, this place is doing something right. The food and coffee here aren't excellent. No question. Surprisingly strong spice level for an old town location, good range of New Mexican AND coffee shop menu options for breakfast and lunch. I had the enchiladas and added eggs and bacon, which is essentially Huevos Rancheros the way it is served in bowl form. Potatoes, beans, and chile flavors all complimented each other well, nice garnish and nice presentation. Had house coffee which is SOLID. The service style is counter ordering with a number, which for me is a great system. Negative - the coffee service with food is a bit confusing. Coffee comes in a paper cup for everyone apparently, which feels a bit sloppy. Mugs would be really nice. Also, because coffee is served with meal by table delivery, coffee takes a long time to get to the table. I personally like my coffee immediately and intravenously, so this was frustrating. The patio is lovely - the tables are weird. There are only large group tables, no small tables. BIGGEST Negative - parking. I looked at the social media, menu, website, and the parking problem is not addressed anywhere that I could easily find. The adjacent city lot is priced for tourists - $12 flat rate. Given that the numerous other breakfast options in the area have free and close parking, in our lamentably car-driven culture, Tiny Grocer is at a big disadvantage. I'm sure this is a recurring and difficult problem, and I would suggest blasting a solution on all social media, pinned posts, first line in bio, menu, everywhere. We drove around looking for street parking, but then decided that we'd have to pay for parking. Unfortunately the different lots in the area use different parking apps, so the first one we drove through was the wrong one. We passed by the Tiny Grocer, though, and I noticed that they had a couple of free parking spots for their patrons. I suggested that we stop in for a quick look, and lo and behold they had the sort of stuff I was looking for. I wasn't able to find blue corn pancake mix, but they had loaves of bread made with blue corn. I found some prickly pear preserves to go along with it, and picked up a Christmas chile spice blend for good measure. They bagged my purchases up in a brown paper gift bag, so I didn't even have to stop for one on my way to the dogsitter. It might have been nice to spend some time strolling around Old Town, but I'm not going to complain about accomplishing my mission so efficiently.
