First time visiting Cutbow Coffee Roasters, but I've been drinking coffee long enough to know the difference between good coffee and coffee that merely exists. This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Service was so kind and helpful with recommendations and questions around coffee and pastries. I got the mocha with macadamia milk. It was delicious. Very mild chocolate, I believe it is Dutch chocolate if my memory services me not to sweet which I appreciate. It was delightfully well balanced. The coffee itself is very smooth and not bitter, excellent taste! I will be back for sure to try other options there are lots of choices. I should have taken a picture of the menu. CUTBOW!!!! Makes top three on my list of coffee in ABQ. Certainly one of the best in town. All local, they use the lavender syrup from Los poblanos, pastries are from local bakers in town. And of course their coffee is amazing. The pastries are different everyday (from Ihatov, Los Ranchos bakery, and a few others). The ice oatmilk lavender latte is so creamy and honestly the perfect latte. The staff is so sweet and welcoming. Any place with coffee iced cubes is the place for me and the fact that Cutbow has them and not only that, but their iced coffee was still under $3 in 2024 earns them 1,0000000 stars in my book. New favorite coffee shop in ABQ. I was born and raised here and have never been a fan of the local "favorite" coffee brand *iykyk*. Cutbow has delicious and flavorful coffee, the shop is so cute, and the staff is always so kind. My first time in was balloon fiesta week and even being busy, the coffee came quickly. The gentlemen who owns the shop is always there working and he's very kind. I have visited each trip to ABQ since. I ordered my usual whole milk Cortado and I got a blueberry filled donut, a bag of Guatemala coffee and a free cup of the same. I ventured outside to eat my donut and drink my Cortado. The donut was lovely! Light, sweet and tasty! The Cortado was perfection! I was headed for a facial which was only a 5 minute drive down Rio Grande so this was a perfect place to stop! Highly recommend coming here! Friendly staff, lots of parking spots and good amount of seating inside. They also had outside seating in the back. Our hotel was nearby so we decided to stop here before our flight. We grabbed some seats in the back area. If you buy a bag of coffee beans, you can get a free cup of drip coffee or iced coffee. I tried the Cafe Canela first which was good. Then I got a free iced coffee when I bought a few bags of the coffee beans. Our first morning was a bust, but our second morning, we came here, and not wanting to chance it, we also came back our third day as we left, because it was that good! I was super excited to see that they had small drinks so I could get a few to try! The first day, I got a cortadito bon bon and a gommosita! Both were absolutely amazing and delicious - obviously, so much so, that I needed to come back the next day. We ended up getting an iced London fog, ice ceremonial matcha with vanilla, and a dirty chai. Most of their syrups are all made in house and it shows in how they make their drinks. I had a lovely experience at Cutbow today. Their coffee is always excellent, and it's a great spot to plunk down with a book and hang out. Today I tried the café canela, espresso with piloncillo and burnt cinnamon syrup plus a pain du chocolat from Ihatov (they also have pastries from Burque Bakehouse and Planty Sweet). The coffee was beautifully presented on a polished slab of wood with a little pitcher of half and half. Not only was its appearance striking, but the coffee was delicious, not too sweet and perfect for my tastes with a splash of cream. I enjoyed my visit.
