Both Castle Coffee locations have the kind of coffee shop vibe that every millennial is always on the hunt for: a clean comfortable laid back local community space. The staff is always as exceptional as the drinks, and the baked goods are sourced from great local spots around town. That said, I cannot recommend their seasonal specialties enough. Our favorite - The Glazed Bramble (balsamic and blackberry - TRUST) is the kind of drink you keep thinking about until you inevitably end up back at the counter to order another one. Don't sleep on checking this coffee shop out!

Finally came to see the new Castle Coffee location since I was in the area. The service was very friendly and the space was cozy, loved the mural they had on their wall. Tasty coffee per usual. I ordered the lavender oat latte iced and grabbed my partner a caramel latte. Definitely feels like they've already got some regulars established there. Which is nice since I know folks were bummed about the former shop, Michael Thomas Coffee, closing this location. Will make it back if im ever in need of coffee in the area.

I like Castle Coffee. It might not be one of the spots that I frequent but I do enjoy their coffee. They have genuinely good coffee and creative offerings. But the base is good which is so important. Baristas are always friendly and they have a good selection of pastries. Seating can be harder to come by depending on when you're there but they have added more options including some outdoor tables for the nicer weather.

This is my first time buying anything here. As many people have said, have said, the service is friendly and helpful. As I write this, sitting at Castle Coffee, the room is nearly full. Probably due to the fact that it is Labor Day, so lots of people are here. My kids, who've been here multiple times, tell me that the number of people here today is higher than normal. The atmosphere is nice. The ice Mocha I got tastes great. The Croissant looks like it will taste good. I have one demerit have to give here. I suffer from migraine headaches caused by bright lights. Because seating is limited, I have no choice but to face the large windows. The light coming in is very intense and painful, to me. Fortunately, I always carry a brimmed hat to help me prevent a migraine, but if I didn't have it, I would get a migraine sitting here, drinking my latte and eating my Croissant. One last thing, I like to check the speed of the Wi-Fi at every coffee shop I visit. Castle Coffee's Wi-Fi speed is phenomenal. (Check the associated screen capture.)

Great local spot with very chill vibes. Plenty indoor seating with free WiFi. There was a mix of patrons from a business meeting in a side room (available to rent for meetings!), to people reading books, or working on laptops. Staff was super friendly and helpful when deciding to try their bussin berry latte. They have every milk substitute under the sun (macadamia? Oat? Almond? They got it all!). I loved their community engagement featuring local artists and a table with local resources/events. Plenty of street parking in front. If you plan on driving here and camping out to knock out a few hours of work just keep an eye out for residential only parking, 1 hour only parking, and 2 hour only parking signs.

REVIEW #24! The lobby is open when the store opens. You aren't competing for staff attention with drive-through customers. Gluten-free pastries. Art and plants. $3.00 "Batch Brew" includes a refill. COMETH.

Great, very friendly local coffeeshop who does a very good job serving high quality coffee and ensuring customers know how much this shop appreciates them. There's plenty of space and the vibe is good with conversations going on and people hanging out at the cafe. I stopped by for a quick late breakfast and liked how tasty their iced latte was (I believe they made their own honey lavender syrup..because it was so yum and not overly sweet at all). Although the highlight was the quality coffee, their staff overall got 5+++ stars for sure! They know their customers really well and really try to please their customers both old and new!

Came here for a quick coffee run while in the Smiths shopping center and I'm so glad we did. Honestly everything looks pretty good and Mr. Castle was very knowledgeable about his coffee and love for coffee. I asked him to make me something good and I just trusted him to make it happen! If you don't trust your barista to whip up something delicious then sucks to be you! The coffee shop was very nice, clean and spacey. There were board games to play. Seems like a nice place to come with the whole family. I found a new favorite coffee spot that my kids can come and enjoy some games while I sip my drank. Customer service was great and I'll be back!

This was my first time visiting this location. I just happened to see it on Instagram one day and decided to come in for a visit. This location is located in a mini mall. Which should definitely include some good parking spaces. Walked inside and was greeted by friendly staff and looked around the whole cafe. Lots of cozy seating areas. This place gave me like a rustic vibe. Very inviting. The menu is very simple, but yet very interesting as well. I decided to try their iced lavender latte and on the side, a blueberry lavender cake/donut. It was vegan and gluten-free which to me tasted pretty good. I didn't get a chance to stay and enjoy my coffee and dessert, but I will definitely be back here again since this is close to where I live. I love how they're bringing more places to venture out to in Rio Rancho. Next time I'll try something different and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

I was in Albuquerque with a friend this morning, and we were craving a good local coffee. We saw Castle Coffee had stunning reviews and decided to give it a try. We were far from dissatisfied with our experience. Upon entering the little shop we were greeted by the most cheerful barista I believe I've ever met at a coffee shop. She was bright and helpful as were the rest of the staff we encountered. The decor of the shop is quirky and tasteful. They have an adorable selection of locally made pottery mugs and art. Along with a selection of Fellowship of The Ring Pez. A wonderful touch that made me feel right at home. I believe Tolkien would've been proud if I do say so myself. After going over the menu we both settled on the PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte). It was the first of the season for both of us and wow. The coffee was smooth and tasted like it had real pumpkin in it. The sweetness was delectable. Enough to get rid of any bitterness but not enough to leave behind a nagging headache. Perfection. They also had a delightful small selection of baked goods. The Pistachio Croissant was the pick for us, and I fall short for words. They warmed it and it was buttery, nutty and sweet with exquisite flakiness. I could eat one of those joyfully on the regular. To end this review all I have to say is I hope I'm graced with the opportunity to come back to Castle Coffee in the very near future and hope you are inspired to give it a try as well!

they used to sell breakfast burritos from Cafe Lush here, and i would go out of my way to get them because they were that good. they were also the perfect size and they would warm them using the sandwich press, so the tortilla had a perfectly slight crispness. today my husband went to get one for me and he didn't realize that the burritos now were different than before. these are not the ones from Cafe Lush anymore, and it was actually terrible. $9 for a vegan burrito that was really just a big lump of hashbrowns and mushrooms. i tried to be a soldier about it but couldn't eat more than 2 or 3 bites, while my husband took 1 bite and threw it away. sad day. at least their coffee is still good.

    Lavender latte. Yum.

I've heard great things about Castle Coffee, and we grind and brew their coffee at my church (Refuge Church on Taylor Ranch and Montaño, hit us up Sunday morning!) so I was excited to try their coffee. People of Albuquerque, the five-star reviews are well deserved! I tried their lavender latte, which is excellent. Lavender is tricky to get right and this was perfectly balanced. Next time I want to try their pour over or maybe the cortado. Either way, I will be back.

This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. And speaking of doors, while I was there there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. That's usually the universal coffee signal for yep, this place is doing something right. Bottom line: Great coffee, cool atmosphere, and a shop with enough character to keep things interesting. I'll definitely be back for another cup of that Guatemala.

I understand that they are hoping to encourage people to cycle instead of drive, but it seemed a bit much to pay to buy food at their establishment. Next, the line was Looooong and moved at a glacial pace. While chatting with others in line, the wait time seemed to be pretty typical for weekends. Waiting over an hour in the sun to place an order is too long yall. It's time to open a second window to take orders quicker. The food was truly sad. :( We ordered an oatmeal cookie (flavorless), the Green Chile bagel sandwich (which wasn't really a bagel? It was a roll and it was super greasy.), a lemonade (so watered down it was basically lightly flavored water), veggie and fish tacos (both of which needed seasoning and were cold, PLUS the veggies on the veggie taco were those pre mixed vegetables kits you buy at the grocery store that come frozen in the bulk section. So soggy, cold and not appetizing.) and an iced coffee which was fine but weak. The location is doing all the heavy lifting for this place, because it is truly stunning. Green trees everywhere and lots of outside space to sit. But with all these negatives, plus lots of up-charging on the menu, we won't be back. Sorry guys, Albuquerque knows good food, and this ain't it.
