I love this place! The ambiance and the workers are fantastic! The only thing I wanted to mention is that I wanted to study in the room with all the plants, but I couldn't because the strong smell of the bathroom was so overwhelming that unfortunately, I had to leave and move to a new area because the smell was just so strong. Even inside the bathrooms they were very well kept and they were very clean. However, the stench was unbearable. It just smelled like sewage not like someone had recently used the bathroom. Maybe some type of candle or air freshener back there would help because I literally love this place so much !!! read more

I'm a little embarassed that I haven't reviewed LB yet since I've practically lived here since I started visting last summer then moved to ABQ this summer. I love this place. I love the industrial converted garage vibe and the friendly, efficient staff. The coffee is very good and, while I usually opt for a drip becase I hate waiting, the espresso drinks are great too. They have a variety of good seating. The giant conrete tables on the east side of the room are decent for community sharing, but they don't have power outlets. The counter top area to the back is nice and has outlets but the seats aren't particularly comfortable. The outside seating is really nice too but it's been to hot for to sit there. I usually do my impression of a salmon swimming upstream and start at the big concrete counters and work my to a table by the wall where the good seats and power are. The energy and music here are great and I like the mixed crowd of students, artists and assorted(I'm in the assorted category). I really like the vibe here. I go to Humble Coffee often too because it's near my house but the energy there is mor subdued. read more

Albuquerque is not a place I generally enjoy visiting. All the shops close early, and so do most restaurants and cafes. There isn't much to do and there's virtually no culture to speak of. That being said, this otherwise sleepy city has a few gems, and Little Bear Coffee is one of them. We tried it after reading all the good reviews and I'm happy to report that: - The reviews are right - They serve very good espresso late into the evening - The staff is courteous and diverse - The interior and ambiance are mellow and minimalist That's just my type of place. We didn't stay long but the half hour we spent there was nice enough to have me write a review. If I ever drive again through the city, I will be back, for sure! read more

Can see this as a place that you go to regularly if you live near here and can walk over. But it's not a place that would make me not go somewhere else to come here (wouldn't choose this place over others). The longer I sat here, the more I felt agitated. Then I walked to Ihatov afterward, and after I had sat there and enjoyed their food, I felt much calmer and at ease. Food: - Black coffee - didn't want a refill. Felt nauseated afterward. - Espresso - this is not good. No wonder they give you sparkling water with it- you're gonna need this. It's a tradeoff - you get the caffeinated feeling but at the cost of a disturbed taste. This place is no longer what it used to be. Specifically, there's an employee named Ruah who is incredibly disrespectful and has used profanity on multiple occasions towards customers. Many others within the community have shared similar sentiments about this particular employee and her negative, heavy, and disrespectful attitude. It's absolutely ridiculous at this point. Little Bear is losing its rapport in the community and it's unfortunate one person is a big reason for it's decline. read more

It's probably one of the better cafes in Albuquerque considering it has the hipster cafe vibe, good amount of seats, serve the usual cafe and tea option with some pastries. Ambience is cold - lots of gray cement and gray bricks. The location near Route 66 and the university only have street parking and it is very hard to find parking. The other location have some parking but it's quite busy as well. This location also sells merchandise. read more

Out in NM for a wedding and needed a good cup coffee. Well this is a wonderful space for sitting and enjoying a cup of coffee. Coffee is smooth. Lots of students studying. Lots of good things about this coffee place. Quite a lot of seating inside and out. Good location on Central WITH a parking lot. I ordered a Latte with oat milk ($4.50 + 1.00) and a chocolate frosted donut (4.50). The coffee was on the small size. I didn't ask, but from the menu, it seemed like there was only one size. For my taste, it wasn't as smooth as I like, but I'm sure it's perfect for others. The donut was good and on the larger size. All in all, a fairly limited menu but they did have breakfast burritos and all the most popular things you'll want in coffee shops such as mocha and matcha. Seemed like a good place to spend some time. Wish Yelp allowed 1/2 stars because it's better than a 3, but couldn't quite give it a 4. Still, it's a likely spot that will make the rotation of independent coffee places I go to. read more

Cute little converted car repair place that now is a coffee shop with limited wine and beer. There is Wi-Fi, so lots of UNM students gravitate here to enjoy a drink and do their class work. They do have some sweet pastries, but get sold out with hungry students that want a nibble. I like their real chocolaty hot chocolate, but wish they had whipped cream. I just love seeing this coffee shop grow. If doscovered little bear from their shop in Pennsylvania (NE). I love the coffee here and the baristas are always friendly and approachable. Really enjoyed my visit here. had the LB Latte. It was a great simple solid latte. Espresso flavors were present, drink was not overly milky, and the texture in milk was on point. I've been to this Little Bear on several occasions. Enough to be only 3 away on my stamp card to a free drink! So don't forget to start one of those on your visit if you haven't already. The space is really easy to like. I love the industrial look with all the concrete tables and mural in front room space. It's clean with lots of table space so bring a book, laptop, sudoku, or a just a friend to chat a bit and catch up over a nice cup of coffee. The staff are always so friendly and make me feel welcomed every time I stop by. I came here for a glass of wine so didn't try the coffee. The place has an open, fresh, artistic vibe. Staff were friendly and prompt. There is ample seating and in all kinds of configurations so you can easily find a spot that suits you. There were a mix of people there on a Saturday (early evening)--some chatting, some working on laptops, some singles, some couples. It is so spacious that we could easily catch up without overhearing everyone else. If you're looking for food your options are limited to breakfast burritos and desserts. The location is super cute, but whenever the weird goth girl with the septum piercing is there I feel super uncomfortable. Not only does she rush you by standing there staring at you as if you're major inconvenience. I've been there a few times and every time I start off by saying hi and all she does is stand there staring at you making things weird. She doesn't even bother getting your order correct and makes you repeat the order more than three times. Management please put this girl somewhere else and hire someone who actually wants to work there. On the other hand the barista who actually makes your drinks makes an effort to be nice! I moved to Albuquerque a year and a half ago, and I work from home, which for me means "find a really good coffee shop." Took me a few months to find Little Bear in Nob Hill, but I've been coming here nearly every day since, and it deserves every one of the above stars. The coffee is great - I'm not a coffee snob, but everything I've had here is really good. (And if you ARE a coffee snob, there are more than a few of the staff who can speak your language as well.) The people who work here are all top notch, wonderful, kind humans, who are great at their jobs and really help set the place apart. Lots of seating, and it's nice that there's a variety available; from couches for groups to individual tables for those of us posting up with a laptop. Mañana Taco has been stationed in the parking lot for the past six months or so, and fixed what I always considered the only "miss" at Little Bear, offering amazing food for both breakfast and lunch. I'm moving next week, and Little Bear and the folks behind the counter are one of the few things I will genuinely miss. Also, special kudos to Natalia, who clued me in to the life-changing advice of ordering my cold drinks with extra ice. read more
