We are always interested in breakfast paces, and while driving through Rio Rancho, we saw Hannah and Nate's at a 4 star rating. The shopping area around it is quite nice; like a hallmark town. The interior feels homey and inviting. The hostess was quite welcoming. After a 20 minute wait, we got seated. She was also friendly and efficient. We ordered the carne adovada breakfast enchiladas and eggs Benedict the Nuevo Mexico. Our dishes came out fast, and we were ready to gobble. The salsas on both dishes were tasty and the adovada cubes were tender. However, the biscuits in the Benedict were soggy, the poached eggs were small, and the potatoes needed salt. The tortillas in the enchiladas were, strangely, not fried and, as a consequence, unsatisfactory. Overall, our experience was neither terrible nor great. It was smack in the middle, possibly forgettable, making this review a good reminder of its strengths and weaknesses. read more

My mother is homebound, so we ordered Hannah and Nate's to go because this was one of her favorite places to eat. When my husband called in the order, the person who answered the phone was rude and hurried. This was a first. When my husband went to get the food, the host was pleasant and joked around a bit with him. Unfortunately, the food itself was subpar at best. I had the meat and bleu with potato salad. The meat was dry, lacked enough bleu cheese for "bleu" flavor, and had very little grilled mushrooms. The potato salad tasted flavorless and more like cold mashed potatoes. My mother had the Two Egg Comfort. The eggs and hashbrowns had no flavor and the bacon was greasy. As she put it, "Not Hannah and Nate quality." My husband had the Rio Grande Club. He said the sandwich was fabulous, but the potato salad was bland. Hopefully, this was just a bad day because we love going to Hannah and Nate's. read more

Really good find. Just got off a hot air balloon ride and was starving. Ordered the green chili breakfast burrito with a red chili sauce. It was huge and delicious. A tad spicy, which I liked. Ordered take out on a Sunday Morning. Called it in. The gentleman on the other end very nice. When I got there was very packed. Had to wait double time for my order . Was it worth it. Yes and No. ordered the Carne breakfast enchiladas. Although the carne was tasty there wasn't enough and enough chile some of the layers were dry. I would ask for extra chile next time. Also tried the french toast was so so. They only give you one syrup so ask for extra syrup. Also ordered a side of expensive bacon. Was ok. Overall I give them 3 stars for food. I haven't been here in years, and wow, was that a mistake! Just met a friend here for an early lunch and am already plotting a return trip. You know, on my previous visits I'd never tried any of the New Mexican items with chile. I obnoxiously thought, "These people with all their pretty 'country kitchen' decor probably aren't going to make chile worth eating," and got other stuff. I was totally wrong. I just had their carne adovada breakfast enchiladas with both the red and green chiles (green because I thought the red was likely to be a disaster) and EVERY BITE was utterly delicous. Not the spiciest in town (but that's not the point, is it?) but certainly some of the tastiest, BOTH the red and the green. A little sweet, a little fruity, the right amount of tang in the green. Nice cheese and sweet bits of onion throughout. And the carne adovada was wonderful: juicy yet not fatty, imbued with flavor throughout. The over-medium eggs were cooked exactly to order (increasingly rare to find these days) and the hash browns were the Platonic ideal of crisp and toothsome. Even the flour tortilla on the side was nicely griddled to the right consistency. This was one of the best plates of breakfast I've had in a restaurant in a long time. I need to get in here more: Hannah and Nate's knows how to cook! And they know how to run a restaurant, too. The place was hopping the entire time I was there, but no one had to wait very long for a table and the staff (there were a lot of them) politely danced through the tables, checking up, delivering food, refilling, taking payment, bussing - all just as nice as can be and all apparently doing whatever needed doing at that moment. Just wonderful - it's not convenient to where I live, but after this fantastic experience, I'll for-sure be back at this outlet of Hannah & Nate's soon. read more

Customer service is on a weekday mid-morning started out excellent. There were no tables inside so we sat outside and it was really nice because inside the restaurant was super cold. The food was served pretty quickly after ordering, but it was still cold. Our server didn't come back for a while so we couldn't even ask for it to be warmed up unfortunately. That was disappointing. My wife highly recommended this place to me as she had eaten here with her mother and Neice a few weeks ago. Love the small mom and pop atmosphere, the place looked clean and presentable, my wife introduced me to the owner and the first thing I noticed was that he was thoroughly cleaning down tables and chairs as customers left, this was a pleasant sight because leadership is important to me personally. I ordered the carne enchilada breakfast with eggs and it was tremendously delicious! I told my wife that it was surprisingly one of the best tasting New Mexican dishes I have ever tasted! Hannah and Nates is one of our weekend go to breakfast spots when we don't want to cook. I love their New Mexican fare and their red chile always hits the spot for me. It/s a quant little spot so do expect a wait if you are coming in the midst of breakfast or after church lets out. I think the longest wait we've had was about 15 minutes or so. I'm a sucker for breakfast enchiladas at most places, including here. I had also had their Eggs Benedict which I enjoy because of the side of fresh fruit. If you want something a little more hefty, go for the Nuevo Mexico Eggs Benny because they come with carne adovada! Food: Tilapia quesadilla. Pretty good. Different, for sure! I was not greeted very nicely when I stepped in the door to pick up my to-go order. I totally get that the place was very busy and things seemed hectic, and therefore the "host" may have been a bit flustered, but even so, he was kind of short with me and a bit dismissive/ rude. I don't know if that would keep me from trying the place again. I'll have to cross that bridge when and if I come to it. I was hoping that the food would have been A+ fantastic to make up for the service (although my order was ready pretty quickly, so that was cool). A Veggie Omelet that looked like scrambled eggs flat top cooked (greasy) and onions, sliced tomato thrown in the middle. There was a small slice of avocado with a teaspoon of cheese. I love some of the other restaurants in the plaza Hannah and Nate's is located in, so when they opened, I was chrious to check them out. We walked in to a cute little restaurant with friendly staff who sat us right away. The place is decorated to look like a little french cafe, from the tables with plastic fruit to the painted farmers market and rolling hills. We initially got the breakfast menu, but found out they serve a full menu all day! So we got the lunch menu. I was so excited to see the New Mexico inspired menu. The sandwich menu was my favorite and had a Bosque Grilled Cheese, Rio Grande Turkey, and NM BLT. The list of salads was refreshing as well. I ended up getting the NM BLT with a side of fruit, while my husband got a beef and potato burrito smothered in green chili. The NM BLT was delicious. Basically a BLT, with crisp and flavorful bacon, crisp and sweet lettuce, plump tomato slices, monterey jack cheese, and the familiar nip of spice and tang from the green chile on a multigrain toast. Absolutely masterful! The fruit was perfectly ripe, sliced generously, and a sweet, fresh option to pair with the sandwich. The beef and potato burrito came out absolutely overstuffed, the way a good smothered burrito should be! The beef was spiced beautifully, potatoes cooked to the perfect tenderness. As we left we learned there's a second location, too!! I can't wait to check it out.
