Stumbled upon this nice little spot while looking for a breakfast place in the area on a Sunday morning. I'm happy we stopped by. The staff was friendly. According to our receipt, our server was Marcos and he was very attentive. Great breakfast selection on the menu, and the other pages looked to have a great selection as well. My omelet was excellent, as were the sides of hash browns and bacon. The space has a real hometown vibe in a great way and since this is my preferred way of experiencing America during our travels, I'm really happy we stopped here. The kitchen was a tad bit slow but nothing unreasonable. It seemed a little slow in relation to the number of folks that were currently dining. We were seated immediately and server was quick to bring our drinks. Husband ordered Huevos Rancheros and I ordered 1 pancake (they are pretty good size) and an egg OM. Food arrived hot and fresh, menu items are a large portion. There were plenty of customers inside but no excessive noise to speak over. He blamed it on old owner and would not take responsibility for buying business with this in the books he bought. I have a bachelor's in Business Administration and he is wrong. First this place has the propensity for a Five Star review. I got breakfast enchiladas and my wife Navajo huevos. The portions were huge and flavor fantastic. The food was served quickly but otherwise the server really didn't check on us very often. I'll definitely be back, but hopefully next time with a more proactive server. read more

This was our second visit. Our first visit was good, so we decided to come back and brought a family member to try it. I ordered the French toast combo, but the oil had a bad taste. I asked the waitress what oil was used, and she said they use oil from the fryer, then stopped herself. Because of this experience, I'm not sure if we will return. Business owner taste your food and make adjustments. French Toast should be crispy not soggy and taste like old oil. read more

I had always wanted to try and was able to visit recently! Greeted by friendly new owner as of Jan. 3rd. Found out that pies and desserts are made in-house. They were tempting to order, but left full. I ordered the Grand Canyon omelette with four eggs; it came with a choice of toast or pancakes. I chose the two big pancakes you can see in one of my pics. The breakfast was OK. I know it said 4 eggs, but the omelette didn't appear as large as I thought it would be. I had ordered potatoes (papitas) and was given hash browns, though cooked perfectly. I didn't bother the waiters to fix the issue as the hash browns were fine. And the pancakes were fine--I feel I've had better pancakes, but there was nothing wrong with these. They were big and fluffy. My friend got the lunch special of the day which was the Indian taco. Huge! Very good. I was amazed by the specials each day, and I look forward to trying this place again. read more

A nice restaurant with a good menu selection, reasonable prices and friendly service. I was in the mood for a Belgium Waffle so I decided to try this restaurant. I got there about a half an hour before closing and go seated immediately. Waffle was good and I got it topped with blueberries and whipped cream. I did notice they had a pumpkin pie in the dessert cabinet which is nice to see outside of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I definitely will try this restaurant again. read more

Besides the place being dirty the two servers were clearly over worked. The wait to be seated was long, the wait for our server was longer and the wait for the food was also long. I wish I could say the food was mediocre but it wasn't that good, it was inedible. I ordered a burrito plate which comes with three scrambled eggs but they weren't scrambled, they were under cooked with runny yolks and runny whites. The beans were so cold the cheese hadn't melted. The hash browns were burnt and appeared to have everything previously cooked scraped up with them. They were very stingy with the chile. I couldn't force myself to eat that slop so I had to pick up lunch on my way home. I asked to speak to the manager who is also the owner but he refused to speak to me. read more

Worst experience in my memory. Ignored by 2 waitstaff on either side of my table. Watched 3 more tables seated after me, drinks order taken and 2 of those served. I decided to leave after noticing those tables received their food, all before even being asked what to drink. Google maps shows there is curbside pick up but that doesn't seem to be true here. Parking is tight and there's no designated curbside spot. I ordered here so I could grab food quickly on the way to the airport to pick up my husband from his TDY. Had to go in with my 5 month old in tow to pick up the food, which is fine, but the staff glanced at me and proceeded to help another person who went up to the register after me. Then they chatted away while I'm standing and waiting to get my food, which I was right in front of from the start. As they say "this place used to be good back in the day". Good does not even come close to what this place is. I ordered a classic huevos rancheros meal. The eggs were raw, the beans were overly salty, and the hashbrowns tasted like Clorox wipes. I got five bites in and threw it all up. I am so fortunate that I did not get food poisoning. I finally tried this place with a friend and I think it's a little lesser known gem! If you want a diner type breakfast I recommend you give this spot a try. I had a chicken fried steak and it was awesome. It was clean the staff was friendly and everything is fairly priced for the portions. I have definitely been back a few more times. Not a bad experience and I love home cookin' type food. Even their Mexican dishes are good. If you like to avoid the "commercial" chains like Denny's this is a great alternative. Wow!! This place really packs in the lunch crowd! I really do not know how long they've been operating, but this past week was my first visit for lunch. It's not far from work, so easy to get in and out during my lunch hour, though if you're really in a hurry, are you sitting down at a regular restaurant in the first place? I think not! However, if you have the time, and you're in the area, you might want to give 'em a go. I had a turkey sandwich with avocado and it really hit the spot. The house salad I opted for instead of fries was really fresh as well. My tablemates all seemed to go for the enchilada type plates and they seemed quite pleased as well. Military discount!! My wife and I went to Copper Canyon today at 8:30 AM to have breakfast on a Sunday. We stood and waited for five minutes until someone recognized us and then said have a seat wherever you like even though there's a sign saying wait to be seated with very few people in the restaurant. We requested a booth, but none of them had been cleaned The overweight lady with glasses and her hair in a bun said just give me a minute,I'll get to it. She said have a seat. My wife pointed out that there was a rug on the chair that she asked us to sit on and she said there's plenty of seating over there and then turned around and walked off. She was very rude in both her mannerisms and her reply to us. I do not understand Why, I think some people may be in a job that not suited for them and she may be one of them. GREAT NEWS!! - Copper Canyon, although being "closed" for two months because of COVID-19, is OPEN again! I consider this to be one of the top restaurant/cafes in Albuquerque. During the past couple of years I have recommended Copper Canyon to numerous friends and co-workers. All of them have become "regulars". This place NEVER disappoints! If you enjoy great food, friendly service, and a quaint "cafe" feel this is the place for you! NOTE: They currently are not open for dinner. They close at 3:00.
