I had to order a prosecco and combine it with the mimosa because it was way too much super sweet orange juice -The Cajun Lion's Mane - the hollandaise was absolutely way too sour. I mean...it was bad. Like, really bad. Not only was it just awful, but my entire meal was drowning in it. Next, the coconut crusted lion's mane was absolutely inedible. It tasted more like a different part of the lion, if you know what I mean. I just didn't eat it past two bites. The asparagus was inconsistent (some smaller mushy stalks and some large uncooked crunchy stalks). The toast would have been fine but the amount of pesto on it was atrocious. I scraped most of it off...I mean there was a MOUND of it. The egg was fine (opted for regular). All in all it was just a piece of toast with an egg DROWNING in sour vegan hollandaise and pesto with asparagus and an inedible fried mushroom thing. And to say 'thing' is even offensive to 'things.' They have the maple pecan donut back for fall and it is delicious. We also tried the pumpkin donut and it didn't disappoint! We were planning on stopping for lunch but heads up they now only serve their pasties, drinks and now burritos. The rest of the menu is gone. So this trip we just stuck to the donuts! read more

I really enjoyed the baked goods at Knead, they're really great options and they're all vegan. It's funny because I possibly have mentioned this in a previous review but this location used to be my favorite downtown brunch spot. Back when it was Gold Street café, they had the most amazing pancakes and I was so sad when one day they disappeared. Having Knead in that spot really fill the hole. They have a really good selection of different pastries, but I highly recommend sitting down for brunch. They also have some pretty solid drinks, including this beet Thai tea that I tried. It was lightly sweet and very creamy, similar to a milk tea. Service is always great and they have a really cute space. read more

After a morning of wandering through the hot air balloon fiesta, we were hungry for something hearty, sweet and savory ... and found Knead. Right away I knew I was going to like Knead, I mean they had a panda photo right at the counter! So you order and pay at the counter, then take your seats in the open dining area and they bring the food to you. Everything on the menu sounded amazing, and I took the advice of Yelpers to order enough for 6 people even if there was only 3 of us. Just call me an oinker! First off, the lemon pistachio pancakes were light, fluffy and larger than my head! Three plate-sized pancakes stacked high topped by the lemon pistachio curdle, hit all the sweet and savory cravings. The ABQ version of a loco moco was smothered in a gravy that was silky and packed with flavor. I could've drank a cup of that gravy! Biscuits and smashed potatoes rounded out our carb-laden me, and wow was I sleepy after enjoying my fill. We also took home some of the potato bread (I think that's what it was called), and enjoyed it warmed the next day for breakfast. I'm still thinking about the gourmet meal even weeks later. The food in nothing short of amazing! Flavors are delectable and mouth watering. It was an egg free, dairy free and vegetarian restaurant. I didn't know that going there originally but I didn't miss the protein when we ate because of the flavorful profiles. The lemons curd pancakes were my favorite! The berry Chantilly waffles was delicious but I preferred the lemon curd pancakes. I also got a cappuccino that I did not photograph. The doughnuts were fluffy, not greasy and so delectable they were worth every calorie! The smashed potatoes were delicious. I r asked for hot sauce and thy brought us a green and a red and the were both mouth watering homemade sauces. One was a tomatillo sauce that was hot and the other was almost a sirracha ketchup but better. We will definitely be back here! If you want to try something different, try this place! This space used be home to the Gold Street Cafe and I loved that restaurant. However, I was extremely excited about Knead this morning. Great vegetarian options in a beautiful space. I got twisted bliss (HOUSE MADE CHALLAH BREAD, FRENCH TOAST BATTER, BANANA, STRAWBERRIES, RUM SAUCE, WALNUTS, AND SYRUP) it was super light and fluffy. The giant mound of whipped cream had a hint of lavender and wasn't too sweet. A great treat that wasn't heavy and each bite was delicious. My friend had the rancheros (BELGIAN WAFFLE, PINTO BEANS, SQUASH, CRISPY 15 POTATOES, RED OR GREEN CHILE, SUNSHINE SPHERE (OR) EGG, PICKLED RED ONION, AND TOMATO, CILANTRO). He said it was very flavorful and the red chile was HOT. The bottomless coffee was delicious, good quality, we both drink black coffee so quality is important to us. He also got a lavender lemonade mimosa which was light and refreshing without being lavender-heavy. The service was great, you order at the counter and then they bring everything to your table. They were kind and attentive. The only thing I would say is that you should go early. They use all fresh ingredients which means some of the dishes can and do run out. Their Berry Chantilly waffles are more of a dessert than a breakfast/brunch dish, however, many people enjoy these for their first meal of the day. Their Rosemary Biscuits N Gravy is excellent. Their brown gravy and crème friâche add much to this dish, though the biscuits and potatoes are great without them. The doughnuts are divine, plus, a meal on their own! The espresso is worth dropping by. You have to try one of their dough eats yourself to understand why they are worth it. Knead is located in the old Gold Street Caffe, also formerly known as Hartford Square. And just as the pandemic hit, it was known as Acre for a sad, hot minute. They've made it a lovely space, conjuring the ambiance to be light and airy. Their dairy alternatives are almond milk and oat milk. They are looking into trying other alternatives that froth well. They don't offer decaf espresso (yet) so not great for people suffering from bad insomnia. Knead has earned 5+ stars. The harvest garden has forever changed my life. EVERY, and I mean EVERY, element of this dish is prepared with excellence. Crisp artichoke hearts, mouth exploding harissa, perfectly charred broccoli, roasted cherry tomatoes that are flavor bombs, sage cashew cream so delicate and satisfying. Oh and that beet hummus... the beauty behind the purple makes you glow while devouring the bowl. Kitchen was still preparing the farro so they subbed quinoa instead, which was perfectly fine with me, but I did appreciate that they offered this substitution before finalizing my order. The bowl was delivered nice and hot. This bowl is what I'd request for my last meal before I depart earth! The Blue Corn Caesar was fabulous too. Tons of crisp, fresh romaine and way more kale than expected. Most places skimp on kale, but not here. The roasted tomatoes (same as in the harvest bowl) are flavor bombs. The blue corn dusted croutons are succulent. And the grilled bread oh so "buttery". The Sunshine Spheres are a carrot base. The nuggets are like Gnudi (IMO), but served chilled. Not only does their color make you smile, these little morsels bring joy to your mouth, mild in flavor, extra creamy and these babies excite happy emotions from within. With every bite of salad and bowl I felt healthier and happier. INCREDIBLE FOOD! I was so blown away by this restaurant's food that I felt compelled to tell the workers/owners myself before I left and felt it was necessary to write a review! My fiancé and I were in line waiting to order when we realized this restaurant was vegan/vegetarian. No meat options in sight! My fiancé ordered a bottomless coffee and I got the Spiced Golden Milk which was a Golden Milk with some Chai. My fiancé thought the coffee tasted great and my drink was so warming and delicious. My best friend and I stopped by for brunch and loved the place. Everyone was very friendly and happy to explain the different dishes and make suggestions. I'm not vegan, but I'm pretty adventurous with my eating. I'm not scared to try anything. Service was quick and professional. The food was all so good! And, it looked delicious too. Been to a number of places that ll have been in this building. I'm not sure what it is about the place, but its always rented to good food creators. That would have been a minor complaint, if I had enjoyed my order. The curry itself was tasty, but the oyster mushrooms had an unpleasant burned flavor which persisted for quite some time after eating the dish. Couldn't bring myself to finish it. Wow!! My friend and I tried Knead for the first time today!! Wow! First of all, super cute interior and very nice staff. You walk in and order then take your number and sit down. I ordered the Harvest Garden without bread and a matcha oat latte. Amazing! I can say enough about the flavors of this dish! The beet mash was phenomenal, the harissa artichoke was super tasty, broccoli tasty. I just said yum all the time I ate! Wow. Can't wait to come back and try more. My friend had the Rancheros waffle. Tasty too! Large portion and a good spice! She had a latte and it was good. There was an altercation with a homeless person that came in while we were there and the restaurant handled it very well. WOAHHHH!!!! Was traveling through and stopped by this place and was so so impressed by everything we ordered. Cannot recommend it enough. We got the blueberry donut (such fresh dough one of the best vegan donuts i've ever had), dirty chai, lemon pistachio pancakes, lions mane cajun toast (it was like a vegan eggs benedict), and the huevos rancheros. The lions mane toast was by far my favorite, I literally had a full body experience eating it it was so flavorful and full of textures. My only recommendation would be for the dirty chai it was pretty gingery ... I personally loved the kick that gave it but I know some people can be sensitive to the ginger flavor. My partner recommended using different plates since they were made of plastic, causing a risk for microplastics. Customer service was great too everyone was super friendly. We arrived and asked the person at the counter about the menu. He told us they no longer do food here, just baked goods, & was apologetic. We were super disappointed and felt blindsided! Probably more an issue of the reviews and expectations not being accurate after looking through Yelp. They did have a couple vegan options of baked goods in the case. I tried the rosemary biscuits & potatoes, which were yummy, but very salty (even for a saltaholic like myself). My only suggestion (at least for this dish, the French toast, and pancakes) would be to decrease the portion size and lower the price a little. It saddens me to see wasted food and I saw a lot of uneaten food on people's plates. I took a huge blueberry scone to go for another morning's breakfast. Great vegan food, charming ambiance, and just a great way to start the day! During a recent trip to New Mexico, we spent a couple nights in Albuquerque and sought out breakfast spots within walking distance of our downtown hotel. Based on other Yelp reviews, we decided to check out Knead and were rewarded with some of the best food of our entire trip (and that is saying a lot given New Mexico's many culinary delights). Knead calls itself a "dough bar" and refers to their brunch menu as "plant forward." Knead also is a very recent addition to the Albuquerque restaurant scene, having opened in spring of 2023. I had the lemon and pistachio pancakes, which now rank among my all-time "Top 5" pancakes (in spite of -- or perhaps because of -- being dairy-free and egg-free). Our brunch entrees were incredibly filling, which unfortunately meant we didn't have room to try any of their specialty doughnuts. Next time we are in Albuquerque, I'll make sure to visit Knead again in order to sample some of that doughy deliciousness! The only negative from our visit to Knead (and this was a very minor point in an overall great experience) was the lack of outdoor seating on the day we visited. Although a sign in front indicates they offer sidewalk seating, that option was not available on the Sunday we visited. Fortunately since we arrived literally as staff were unlocking the door and opening for business, the inside dining area was mostly empty while we dined and we were comfortable unmasking to eat. Given Knead's incredible food and charming service, however, I suspect those times when the indoor dining room is mostly empty will become a rarity. read more

Go early if you want bakery items, but if sold out, they still have a great breakfast, brunch & lunch menu. We had the lemon pistachio pancakes and berry Belgian waffle. In two days I have tried four different entrees. All of them were good. First I had the fried banana bread; scrumptious. Second I had Cajun lion's mane; delicious. Third I had the rosemary biscuits; spectacular. Fourth I had the picnic bowl; yummy. I cannot leave a review without mentioning Matias, his customer service is great the way he explains the menu is awesome. He definitely has great vibes. I have made Knead my go to restaurant, when I visit Albuquerque. Oh and how can I forget the melt in your mouth donuts. The donuts that that I ate this weekend were maple pecan, vanilla, bean, and toasted coconut. Definitely check out their day old donuts. Attended a conference in Albuquerque and as often happens, the conference meals were, um, less than satisfying. After abandoning a meal of iceberg lettuce and sad cherry tomatoes I discovered Knead just a few blocks from the convention center. What a find! Friendly staff, chill ambiance, and elevated (but not pretentious) vegan fare. I tried a different dish daily (they're sadly not open for dinner, at least not on weekdays), and was delighted each time. The vegan egg-yolk-like balls of sunshine were a fun touch. I hadn't made the trek as of yet though because of the Vegan thing... nothing against vegan food... more power to you if that's your thing, but i have a somewhat limited palette. A donut is supposed to taste like this (insert limited palette here). So i was skeptical about a vegan donut and vegan food in general. My apologies to vegans everywhere but especially those running things at knead. The donut i had was awe inspiring delicious and nobody but nobody should think as i (previously) did. My ignorance slayed, only peaked my interest in all the other things they serve... this is NOT just a bakery for hungry people on cold rainy days in Abq. I will probably never be vegan (sorry) but i will almost certainly beat a path between where i work and Knead and sharing this with co workers. Everything we ordered was was balanced, flavorful and clean on the palate. The attention given to their vegetarian, vegan, dairy free offerings is evident in light crispy bites, the rich touches of the dairy-free sauces and the bright acidic notes present in every fork-full. Arriving shortly after opening, the restaurant gets busy very quickly, and the customer service does not skip a beat.
