Moved to Rio Rancho a year ago and Mary and Tito's has become my favorite New Mexican restaurant. It is busy for a reason. I only visit once a week to give everybody else a chance.

We stopped by Mary and Tito's for an early lunch today. We had some high hopes. We had a bit of a wait which was fine. As we waited I noticed that this by far was one of the cleanest restaurants I have been in a while. The floors and baseboards were immaculately clean. I noticed that there were many older ladies working as servers and a younger gentleman. I assumed maybe they were all family. I also noticed the fresh flowers on every table which was a very nice touch. We got seated and they brought out the drinks, salsa and chips. For my taste the salsa needed more salt, but had a good flavor but lacked heat. I ordered the large combination plate with tamale, taco, enchilada beans and rice. I also added a chile relleno. My husband ordered the carne adovada burrito. The meat was tender and food tasted good. The red chile was delicious. It had zero heat but the flavor was on spot. The taco could have had more meat. It had a lot of lettuce. The tortilla reminded me of the ones you get at Cotsco that are prepaid and you have to cook. The tamale had a good meat to masa ration. The chile relleno was a let down. It could have used a bit more cheese. It was very greasy. The best part of the meal was the enchilada. It was simple and delicious. Something you would get at grandmas house. Rolled with cheese a little onion and smothered with red chile. It brought back some fond memories of eating at my grandmas house.

I was really encouraged to try authentic NM cuisine I read some reviews and this seemed like kind of place. I had the Carne Adovada and their daily special enchilada with the red sauce. It was amazing and the portions were big which I always respect. It was the perfect amount of spicy not hurting yet not too mild. Please go here if you have a chance.

Loved Mary & Tito's. We were on a road trip from CA, and this place was highly recommended on Reddit. We are glad we made it, the food tasted just like my grandma's homemade cooking. 10/10, a And the staff was also incredibly friendly.

This place is good! Food is delicious, staff is friendly and service was good. Place is a challenge for parking but we went after breakfast and before the lunch rush which seemed to be a good time on a Friday. Red and green Chile had good flavor and some heat but not too hot that it would take the flavor away. Portion was plenty and filling. They had plenty of seating comfortable and clean. Will go back again and to try more on the menu.

James Beard American Classic. Foodie tourists rightly seek it out. Family run - and the grandkids have it going as good as ever. (In my experience, this is a rarity: oftentimes the second generation fumbles the ball handing things to the third. These folks today are sharper than ever - and they have to be, because it's now a foodie destination on top of being a local fave.) Delicious red (from a Salem, NM small farm, perhaps the best you'll find served in any Albuquerque restaurant) _and_ green. Phenomenal chicharrones. World class carne adovada. "Mexican wedding cake" is kind of more of a pineapple/carrot cake and it sells out fast - quite yummy (worth getting one to share at the table). Tasty complimentary chips and salsa. Great service - constant drink refills and no hassle about guests' silly requests. Friendly and welcoming, fast and inexpensive. They have all the business they need - come or don't come, makes no difference. The only one who will miss out if you don't come is you. Parking can be challenging - they have spots out back and street spots in the front, but these fill up quickly. Be _very_ careful pulling out of their lot onto Fourth, as people gun through there.

I first visited this restaurant in 1966 with a friend from the University of Albuquerque. I was so impressed with their absolutely out-of-this-world bowl of Green Chiles!! It was so burning spicy hot that I couldn't even finish it in few minutes. Never had I ever tasted such hot dish before.. But I liked it so much! I highly recommend Mary and Tito's. They also have the best-tasting red chile sauce. Absolutely delicious!

This place is known for their carne adovada and it was best I've had so far! The chile rellenos were ok. The green chile also just ok. But the chicharrones and red chile are delicious!

Best carne adovada in Albuquerque. Chile is properly spicy. Also excellent chile rellenos.

Busy but very attentive staff. Seated quickly and food was good. Glad we each got a lunch meal because we ate it all.

Hey everyone! Does anyone know if they are doing carry out? (I called but no one picked up the phone and there wasn't any info on the recorded message)

I think they are closed right now :( I drove by there the other day craving some Mexican wedding cake and there was a sign on the door.

I keep seeing your pictures pop up on insta and now need to visit the next time I'm home! Are your tortillas, beans and chile (red and green) vegan friendly?

    They have vegan options!

We continue with the exploration of breakfast places and this time we chose Duran Central Pharmacy…read more Don't let the name trick you as it tricked us for a while. This is a pharmacy/store/diner with a very good local vibe. The pharmacy has a bit of everything, from books, jewelry, and toys, to clothing, decor, and kitchen stuff. And when we thought there was no space for a diner, we found where the magic takes place just around the corner, where we were welcomed and seated. People were friendly, kitchen staff were getting stuff out quickly, and our server was ok. Efficiency was a clear target for everyone and our food was on our table in no time. For food, our friends ordered the breakfast burritos (with red only and a Christmas version), , the hubs ordered the carne adobada, and I ordered the tamal plate with red and green, just like I like I like it . Everyone was pleased with their choices. The burritos were big and tasty. The carne adobada had a lot of deliciously marinated pork and the steamed potatoes were quite a good addition. The tortilla with butter was simple yet delicious, with a firm and thick tortilla. The tamal plate was almost perfect. The red and green sauces were amazing, but I was slightly partial to the spicier green chile sauce. The masa on the tamales was firm and good. If there was one change I would make, it would be for the tamales to have more filling. Overall, we had a good experience at a very unique place! Stop by the store to get some local products or useful things for your home.

Came on a Friday when they had their stuffed sopapilla special. It was basically a thick bread with…read moretoppings on it. I personally wasn't a fan of the sopapilla bread, it had a bit of a sour taste that didn't sit right with me, so I didn't finish it. My husband, on the other hand, really liked it. The toppings were simple, just beans and green and red chile, tasty, but nothing too exciting. We also ordered a flour tortilla with butter (recommended by a friend), and that was really good! I actually enjoyed that more than the sopapilla. We had dinner reservations later, so we just stopped by for a small bite. The attached pharmacy was cool, it reminded me of a New Mexican mom-and-pop version of CVS and looked like a fun spot to pick up local gifts.
