Looking for a hometown New Mexican meal and we found it at Baca Boys. Surprised to find it empty at 10:30am on a Friday, but it was an observed holiday, so downtown was pretty empty. Annie was a gem to have serve us. She kept our coffee cups full and chatted it up a little while we waited for our food. My friend and I each opted for the breakfast Carne plate, chile on the side-just in case it was too hot. Wonderful meal! Home cooked feel. Today my travels took me to Albuquerque, NM. The hotel I stayed at recommended the Baca Boys Cafe. Great recommendation! Just around the corner, I found their cute mom and pop restaurant. The interior is simple but clean. The staff were overly friendly and welcoming! I sat at there diner bar style seating instead of a table. Their menu has several breakfast and lunch items available. I chose the pork in red chile sauce. It came with eggs, potatoes, and beans. The food came really quick, within 5-7 min. It was delicious!! The diced pork wasn't dry and blended perfectly in their flavorful red chile sauce. I tried the green chile sauce too, and it's fantastic but does carry some heat (just a nice warm glow not blazing hot). The potatoes, scrambled eggs, and beans bursted with flavor in the chile sauce. The sides were plentiful in quantity. If you are in downtown Albuquerque, you have to try Baca Boys!! read more

Me and my hubby came to check out Baca Boys Cafe a couple of months back because we heard they had a good Monte Cristo and we had some business to tend to downtown. Well my husband finally got to taste the Monte Cristo and he loved it. He was very happy with every component on his plate. My first visit to this establishment was May 6, 2025. There is nearby parking on the street or in parking garage is not too far away. I went slightly after the lunch hour, so it was not crowded. They are open early. Their breakfast is good. If you need something to eat in ABQ before 8 am, this is a good place to go.

We found this place on Yelp and it was perfect for brunch. I had the monte cristo sandwich and it was so good. I am not normally one for sweet & salty combo, but it tasted great. Once again looking for a place to eat nearby to where we were going led us here. Pretty easy to find - right off Central. Meter parking out front - but there was one close by. The salsa starter was delicious but not much to share amongst 5 people. Parties for 6 or more will need to pay extra to split checks. I got the combo green plate with calabalcitas which was a lot of food. It came with an enchilada and meat tamales and taco. I was surprised the taco was a hardshell with lettuce, cheese, and ground meat (like taco bell) and not the LA taco truck type tacos. Tamales were pretty salty and even though the sauce and cheese made it saltier, it was flavorful. Green and red chile were both delicious.
