Can a restaurant be too good? GM surpassed our expectations and then some. Generous portions, incredibly fair pricing, and kind staff. We got the lamb shanks, my wife and I were licking our fingers it was that good. Mediterranean salad was crisp and fresh. I love this place! I discovered it a couple of years ago based on yelp reviews and I'm SO happy I tried it!! I always stay near the airport and this little local shop is approx 7 min away by UNM. Parking is awful, but even if you have to walk a mile in the yucky heat, the food is SO worth it!! I've tried multiple items on the menu. Some of my faves being the chicken gyro with spicy hummus, Greek salad, spicy whipped Feta dip, dolmas and now the brownies lol! All dressings and sauces are made in house. The Greek dressing is amazing and the hummus is some of the most tasty I've had! The spicy Whipped Feta dip is to die for! I'd never had dolmas before and was pleasantly surprised at the tart taste of those appetisers. The only thing I wasn't wild about was the spanakopita, which I usually love. Theirs was made different than I've had before - it has egg in it and I didn't like that version as much as the version I've had at other places with just spinach and feta. The service is always prompt despite as busy as this place always is. You can place orders online or call as well as eat inside or outside at the few tables they have if you want to brave the NM heat. If I weren't traveling for business I would choose eating inside the cute little restaurant. All the workers are super nice and the prices are very reasonable. I've recommended this place to my colleagues that have visited Albuquerque and I'll continue to support Gyros each time I am in ABQ. read more

The spot was an excellent choice on our road trip through New Mexico. The restaurant is nice and spacious, with many tables and outside seating. It also boasts beautiful Greek art on the walls. Be mindful that there is a chalkboard menu behind you when you arrive and are looking towards the cashier. What we got: For me, I opted for the fish gyro, which came with gyro meat, homemade fried chips, and a fresh Greek salad. My husband chose the beef kabob meal, accompanied by a generous portion of Greek salad. We loved everything about the food. The gyro meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, complemented by the crunchy homemade chips. The Greek salad was fresh and flavorful, with crisp vegetables and tangy feta cheese. The only minor complaint I would make is that the fish was a bit salty, but it didn't detract too much from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Gyros is a busy spot next to Frontier and UNMs campus. I usually just order online and pickup. I typically get the Gyro but everything looks good here. The Gyro meat is very good and they give you a good portion. Prices are very reasonable. My only complaint is that they use cherry tomatoes versus tomato slices on their sandwiches/gyros. read more

The food was great I had the Al Pastor Gyro it was great. I the only thing that really knocked it down to a 4 star was the online order (this is how I ordered) it was very confusing. It gave me side options and I pick but then got a call saying it doesn't come with one and it would be extra. I also ordered catering it said feeds 8-12 people but when I picked it up and ask it will feed 12 people they were unsure So I ordered more food in case and good thing I did. I LOVE this restaurant! For my health, Mediterranean cuisine is the best. The salads, chicken, falafels, soups and more delicious foods are fresh. Folks come throughout the day and into the night. It's near UNM so the traffic is regular. Rather I order in or via take out selflane, if an item on the menu isn't available, they reach out to me so there's no surprises. Color me impressed! We happen to find this on yelp while at the Elite Event at Public House on Valentine's Day. Walked right in, not too busy, which was reassuring since it's such a popular day. It's counter service, which is likely why it wasn't as busy on Valentine's. The bourdeaux is delicious, reasonably priced. Baklava delicious although the grocery store on the west side is better in my opinion. Their gyro platter was delicious - meat nice and tender, moist, plenty of onions, taziki sauce and fixins. You should definitely get the jalapeno whipped feta appetizer. It is quite spicy - not for the feint of heart, but if you like spice, I highly suggest it. One couple we saw had run out of pita and had plenty of leftover spicy whipped feta lol. I'm actually not a huge shephard's pie fan, but it sounded delicious so I tried it, and I was not disappointed. The green chile was delicious along with the chicken - I'll be getting this again. Cool decor with a large mural/map of the Mediterranean Sea. The menu is located on a large chalkboard on the wall and you then order at the counter. They will bring the food to your table. The service was outstanding. I had the Hummus Chicken combo plate. It came with a pita filled with grilled chicken and hummus. It was very good. We frequently go to GYROS MEDITERRANEAN in Nob Hill across from UNM for lunch and dinner, always enjoying their wonderful Mediterranean foods and desserts. This time we enjoyed special treats - Beef Tenderloin Tips with rice, tzatziki and Greek salad, and the Mediterranean Rice Bowl with Chicken Souvlaki, hummus and salad. Both meals were outstanding and delicious! We followed up with desserts of Rice Pudding and Walnut Baklava, both also amazing. Other times we've been there, we loved the gyros, Souvlaki Kabob Dinner, and the Vegetarian Moussaka. The menu is big, and so far everything we've had is satisfyingly delicious! In town for Balloon Fiesta, so decided to try Gyros Mediterranean for an early dinner. Arrived just after 5pm and there were only a few patrons when we arrived. It is a smaller place that you place your order at the counter. Drinks are a little high priced and you get one free refill for sodas. However, they do have free refills on tea, including flavored teas. We ordered the Gyro Combo plate, gyro sandwich, salad, and patates. My friend switched the salad for tabouli. The salad was very fresh and tasty. The tabouli was very good. I ordered the spanakopita; it tasted good. The gyro was also very good. I would have liked more onions on mine. The patates were delicious and my friend's favorite. They certainly added to the combo. read more
