New Mediterranean food in the NE Heights neighborhood! Their system is interesting but works just like Chipotle. First you choose whether you want a sandwich or a bowl (more like a plate) with a choice of meat. We got one of each with beef shawarma for the bowl and mashawi chicken for the pita. Next they'll have you wait until the meat is freshly cooked in front of you. Then you'll be able to go back up to the counter to get your choice of unlimited toppings. Meat is very flavorful and you can have unlimited toppings with your meal. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a new mediterranean go-to place! read more

This just may be the best middle eastern restaurant along with Alquds & Yasmine's. This Lebanese restaurant has what it takes to become a staple in Albuquerque. Customer service is amazing. They will answer any questions about the veggies and sauces. They custom make your shawarma, falafel or plate orders. They ask you what vegetables and sauces you want. That way your meal can be specific to what region of the Middle East or country you're accustomed. We got shawarma and falafel pita sandwiches and added the veggies and sauces. I have never been more excited, since leaving Saudi to bite into that shawarma sandwich. It did not disappoint! I was thrown back to my youth and the shawarma shops of Saudi and the Emirates. Let me be the first to admit, we did not know about this place. In fact, they are so new that they do not have their business listed on Facebook, but they are on Yelp. Having admitted to stumbling across this restaurant, let us tell you it is great. Seriously good food, counter service, and sufficient tchotchkes (ambiance) to entertain. Somehow, people already know about Arabian Bites, even though it has not been open very long. We arrived around 10:30 AM, and we were quite alone. But within half an hour, there was a long line to order. Tasty food that comes with an unlimited number of toppings. You order either bowls or pita, then chicken or beef, then the toppings. No idea what they were, so we just told them to put on what they thought would work - and it did. So good that a number of us came back with our wives within the next week. Food was just as good. You can select several options for protein chicken beef or veg. They have pita pocket sandwiches or bowls. Many many options. I had a chicken shawarma sandwich that was enough for two people. Huge! We came for a weekday lunch. The employees were both extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. We ordered a beef and chicken shawarma bowl, hummus with meat, and a meat pie. We loved the variety of toppings and how fresh everything was. Everything was full of flavor, portions were great, and the food was delicious! Also enjoyed the variety of drinks. Tried this place for the first time ever today and it was amazing! Very high quality Ingredients, the toum was perfect! It can be a hard sauce to perfect with so much garlic it can be made bitter but there's is perfect! ! No bitter bite whatsoever! We got the chicken bowl, beef bowl, and the pita sandwich. All were delicious! I love that you can add any ingredients that you want at the counter kinda similar to subway because I love to sauce it up and customize things. The man at the register was very very kind! Overall, I'll be back and back again because I'm sucker for quality middle eastern food! The first time we went here, the food was amazing. The salad was fresh, and all of the toppings were fresh. The falafel was cooked perfectly. However, the last two times we have been there. the wait was over 25 minutes for our food, and there was no air-conditioning. We watched food being cooked and our falafel wasn't even put in the fryer for probably 10 minutes after we ordered it. The new furniture was dusty and tables weren't being cleaned as people left. The employee putting the toppings on our food didn't know who the orders belonged to and he just dumped them on a pile on top of our food. No care was taken to keep them somewhat separate. It seems that this restaurant is going through growing pains, and I hope they can figure it out and be back to the quality of food and service that they once had. read more

I've been here twice now. The food is tasty. I've ordered the falafel bowl and the chicken shawarma. Wait times can be long so plan for 20 minutes to get your bowl. You'd think this would be fast food considering it is in a strip mall but it's not quite quick. This restaurant suffers the most in customer service and sanitary expectations. One to two people handle the ordering, serving and cashiering but don't do it well. You also have to be familiar with the ethnic toppings you are ordering or be prepared to feel clueless. Lastly, while dining in the first time, there was a fly roaming around open food, the lady tending to food was on her phone while replenishing items, and most employees do not wear gloves. Lastly, at second visit, AC was not functioning but they were still operating. read more

This place has delicious food but I feel it needs more workers to serve the tables, prepare the plates, take the orders, etc. We went on a Saturday evening and it took a while to get our food. It was very flavorful but we felt bad for the owner, who seemed to be doing everything (taking orders, preparing plates of food, heating the meat, serving ketchup, etc). He was a one man show and we felt bad for him. It's hard to go back to a place that makes you feel bad when you're in it. We asked for the menu but the cashier said that there was none. We kept asking questions but the workers there seemed annoyed and they said that we have to wait till they are done.
