If you're thinking about it, go here now. And while you're at it, get the Zia Chimi with asada, because that thing is so, SO good. The adovada is good too, but the asada... wow. Our table had burritos, chimis, and flautas, all of which made for very happy bellies. Both chiles were terrific, as was the horchata. Chips and salsa, on the house was very nice, not remarkable, but certainly an easy to lose track of how much you eat before the meal comes out. Only gripe is that no sopaipillas came with the meal. Mer... Service was very friendly, and prompt'ish. Took some time to get our drink order (all soft drinks), but the food came out without too much delay. We were staying in a near by hotel and decided to try La Sierra. The atmosphere was nice. Half dinner/half restaurant with a bar in between. I love the new Mexican style decor and colors. The service was great. Friendly, fast, and attentive. We felt very welcome and like there server staff was happy we were there. The menu has lots of choices from traditional New Mexican food to burgers and even all day breakfast items. I got the combination plate. It was delicious!!! A taco, enchilada, chilled renello, tamale and rice and beans and a sopilla. All for 16 dollars. La Sierra is great and truly a low-key place for some delicious New Mexican fare at a great price. read more

Wow! I got the basic green chile cheeseburger with fries and my mate got the three taco plate. The burger was startlingly delicious. Part of it was just that they had grilled the bun and the large sheets of green chile. We were waited on quickly. It has a nice old diner feel with classic New Mexican colors and decor. I ordered a Christmas-style, ground beef Chimi. The sauces were perfect. Tastes like the cooking of a New Mexican grandma. The ground beef was seasoned very nicely. We went for breakfast because our hotel was pretty close, and because this place used to be Little Anita's when I worked here as a travel nurse years ago. My husband was hoping it reopened under a different name. Little Anita's was one of the best places in town, so we gave it a try. The girl running the register really didn't have great customer service skills. She was just kind of there. She wasn't rude or anything, but she just didn't really talk at all. It makes things awkward when the server doesn't talk. Some people just aren't big talkers, and a restaurant server is not what you should be doing. My daughter and I had French toast, hash browns, and bacon. My husband had pork chops and eggs. The French toast was just ok. The bacon was cooked way too long, and the hash browns were just bad. They tasted like they were stale or something. My husband ate all of his food because he doesn't believe in wasting food, plus he's not big on complaining... and that's the reason why so many restaurants never change anything and end up closing down- because people aren't honest about their service. I would come back and try the lunch, because some places are better at lunch than breakfast. I won't knock it until I try it, but as for the breakfast it's a big no. read more

My daughter and I wanted to have lunch so I looked online and found La Sierra. I made the reservation for two and for 12 o'clock online. We arrived to a unassuming location. Walking in we were greeted with friendly faces and a clean chill atmosphere. Don't let the location scare you. Plenty of food choices with excellent chips and salsa! My daughter ordered the tamales and they look really good! And according to her, while I'm staring at her plate, she says they are very good! I wasn't very hungry having had a late breakfast so I decided to get the nachos. I thought that they would be manageable with only a little bit left over. Much to my surprise, this thing is huge and could feed four people! By the way, they taste delicious! By the end of the meal, we both had to get to go plates so we can enjoy us a little bit later on today. The place is clean, and I said before, the staff is very friendly and professional. Despite the opportunity to make reservations online, it does not appear that you would actually need the reservation. Maybe on the weekends or in the evenings is a different story but on a Wednesday for lunch, we walked in and we could've sat pretty much anywhere we wanted to. This is a relatively new restaurant. And I would venture a guess that it it the families 1st adventure. The place itself is okay. The service was attentive but maybe a little chaotic. They seem to be still trying to figure out some stuff. The food....was okay. I had the Chile rellenos for lunch. Pretty much just like most rest around Albuquerque. But the green chile was very good. It was kind of weird as the rellenos almost tasted a little watery. I don't know how else to describe them. Beans and rice all good. The meal comes with chips and salsa. And I have to say the salsa was very good. Prices are average. All in all I would like to give them another try in the near future. I like the location and it's good to have someone back on this corner. read more

Came in after church for breakfast. I had my favorite huevos rancheros and my son had the breakfast skillet. It is a family owned restaurant and the owner was super attentive. He brought me a side of papitas with red chile and cheese. The red chile is nice and flavorful. The green chile is tasty. The music in the background is nice and not overwhelming. To finish the meal, the owner brought my son a sopapillas with cinnamon and sugar and honey. It was fluffy and perfect for filling with honey. I can't wait to. I had to fight the urge to NOT ask for a napkin because anything that got on my fingers would be licked off -- the atmosphere is welcoming and hospitality is the hallmark of this restaurant, but the food is the all-star, plated exceptionally well and the flavors are some I've never tasted before! Max La Sierra is one of the best New Mexican establishments to eat at if you are a local or if you're a traveler, the steak fingers are the best. The burgers are good and the steaks are good. It's 100% recommend this place. read more

Late for my review. Had went to this place couple months ago, and the sign says "New Mexican" food. I'm sorry, but there's nothing New Mexican about this place. The Chili is nothing but a sauce. We always try a new local New Mexican restaurant.... First time I always order a ground beef taco plate, If you mess a simple dish not a good start. First off the salsa had absolutely no spice whatsoever and being truthful tasted like Pace. The ground beef was just that no spices or seasoning. I had lettuce, tomato and cheese. Wife ordered a a la carte carne asada taco and same with her plate no seasoning or spices, no lettuce, tomato or cheese but had onions... strange! Being in NM always expect some type of spice but not here. Probably won't go back. read more
