I had an absolutely flawless dinner here today, and I'm officially calling it one of the best spots in Albuquerque. If you're in Nob Hill and looking for a meal that actually delivers on every level, this is it. The steak was prepared to perfection incredible sear, juicy, and the toppings added such a sophisticated layer of flavor. Even the presentation was high-end; you can tell the kitchen really takes pride in their craft. Beyond the food, the vibe is spot on. I've been here twice now, and my first experience was way better than last night. Our waiter was pretty, obviously out of it, potentially high, and at one point her clothing actually brushed the food on the table as she went to rearrange plates on our table top. She also seemed very distracted and did not have good recall when we were putting in our orders. She came back several times to ask what our drink orders were before finally bringing over the tablet to enter in the information right in front of us. Secondly, our food took forever to come. This also happened the first time we came to eat at social house a year ago, but it felt more pronounced this time. And the restaurant was not full. Probably a third full of patrons? We were seated at 6:45 and our food did not arrive until 830. Quite the wait if you ask me. Finally, the kitchen was having some sort of smoke issue. If you've never been in an establishment where the grease smell and smoke is visibly accumulating in the air, you know it's quite distracting from a dining experience. It was so smoky inside. I actually caught myself blinking my eyes to see if it was just my vision being blurry or if it was the room. Our food was fine, the pork belly was a standout. Otherwise, I'm not sure I need to come here again. I wish that they would get a better handle on service timing, because that seems to be an ongoing issue. read more

Overall we had a good experience at 3128 Social House. We stopped by the evening before Valentine's Day, it wasn't too busy. There wasn't much staff- the hostess was also our waitress so the beginning of our meal was a bit slow. The bread was $9 picture uploaded which was a bit pricey, but that's kinda the deal here. The butter was BANGIN so it was worth it. I had a tasty mocktail, along with the scallop risotto. The portions were fairly small, but the food was very high quality. Christian got the steak, mash and peppers and it was super good. I def want to try their other location in Bernallilo, but I probably wouldn't frequent this location unless they had a menu switch up. read more

Overall: 3128 Social House is a great dinner option in Nob Hill. Food: 4 Charcuterie Board came with a nice assortment of cheese and meats. Ceviche: This was made with shrimp and had thin yucca chips on top. The ceviche was a little too acidic. The chips weren't substantial enough to eat with ceviche. They felt more like a crispy garnish. Braised Octopus: The octopus was perfectly cooked and was accompanied by a delicious sauce. Grilled Summer Asparagus: The asparagus was perfectly cooked. The 63 degree egg was well cooked and coated the asparagus like a rich sauce. Tempura Mushrooms: This is a very large starter. The mushrooms were crispy and came in a romesco sauce that had the right amount of acidity to cut through the heavily fried dish. Risotto with Scallops: This was a corn risotto with pieces of lobster cooked into it. It wasn't overly sweet which is what I feared with a heavily corn flavored dish. I wish there were more than little shreds of lobster. I added scallops to it which were well cooked. Steak & Potatoes: The mushrooms in the dish were yummy, but I have had much better steaks. Service: 4.5 The server was very nice and attentive. He did not rush us. In fact, they were so chill that it almost felt like it took too long for them to ask if we'd like to order mains/go on to the main course. First time here for my birthday on a Friday evening. The hostess met us with a friendly smile. It wasn't too busy and the service from our waitress was average. The ambiance was inviting and calm. Once the sun went down it was a bit dark inside the restaurant. I ordered the rib eye medium well but it was a bit more on the rare side. I was disappointed that it only came with 4 mini potatoes and no bread basket while we waited for food. My husband had the chicken salad. The chicken was rubbery but the waitress was kind enough to bring him another one which looked and tasted the same. I was grateful for a free delicious birthday cake. My friend and I were in the area and walking along central looking at menus as we walked, and we saw 3128 social house menu with both octopus and ceviche and had to enter. The place is very clean and has minimalist decor, but it is not cold. The bar area is attractive, and the roll up doors let the inside and the outside patio join seamlessly. We did indeed order the octopus and ceviche, along with the double dipper, which is garlic hummus, smoked artichoke dip, and many different veggie spears. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server Christopher was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and he advised us on drink selections. I chose a lavender infused vodka cocktail that was delicious, and my friend chose a Hugo spritz. It wasn't on the cocktail menu, but the bar had no trouble sending over a refreshing and tasty Hugo. The three appetizers were plenty for us, and we loved how perfectly cooked the octopus was and the tasty blended flavors of the ceviche. The waitress was wonderful, and I really felt bad for her. First thing, the ceviche was mostly jicama and cucumber with very little shrimp. The fried mushrooms, although huge, were bland and greasy. The sauce they came with was tasty however, there was nowhere near enough to make up for how planned the mushrooms were. When we were ready to order dinner, we were informed by our very apologetic waitress that the ribeye, filet mignon, duck, pork belly we're all unavailable. This place has a very small menu and with those deletions that was about half of everything. The Burger was "meh", salmon was a bit mealie, vegetables were over seasoned and also greasy. The mashed potatoes were really good. This would be a nice place to come for a cocktail before you go somewhere else for dinner. we were informed at one point that there was only one cook in the kitchen tonight, which makes me wonder about the ability of management to keep their staff. I am glad we did not. The seared scallops on lobster risotto was amazing. One of the best things I have had lately. The chucks of lobster in a perfectly cooked risotto topped with scallops and greens for flavor and texture. They knocked it out of the park on this one. They seemed short staffed with only one waitress, but she did a great job. They serve a proper cocktail as well. We sat on the patio. The hipster vibe was in effect. Overall, this place is okay. It didn't wow me. Food - got the featured catch (halibut) and house burger with onion rings. They weren't mind-blowing. The presentation was nice, but the actual taste was nothing extraordinary. My favorite part of the featured catch was the sweet potato. Its portion size was quite small for $36. I wouldn't recommend it. The burger was also just a burger. Onion rings were onion rings. The house sauce was somewhat sweet. Service - no issues here. 5/5 Ambiance - it's nice and feels somewhat upscale. They opened the doors to the outside seating to let in the air, which improved the ambiance. Our server was lovely, fun & prompt to clarify our special request when there was an issue with their p.o.s system. The space is lovely, relaxing, very glad we chose a booth. The music is loud enough to not hear everyone else's conversations, but still soft enough to hear our own. Our cocktails were well balanced & delicious. But the food! Thanks chef! We started with raw oysters & really put our trust in when the server said they were 1/2 price; they were perfect! We visited for Christmas Eve (so this review is a little delayed) and were blown away by the service and quality of the meal. We were big fans of the previous Nob Hill Bar and Grille and were cautiously optimistic about our experience here after reading some reviews. Those expectations were exceeded when the manager learned it was my birthday and gifted us with a champagne flight. Way to kick off the night! We had the prixe fixe meal (the only offering that night... understandable) which included salads and dessert. I can't remember what we had, other than that I did three chair dances due to how tasty everything was. I do remember the epic smorgasbord we had for an entree, which included a filet, shrimp, and chicken so tender it melted in my mouth. We were stuffed and the food/service was exceptional. In fact, doing this review is inspiring me to make another reservation! I am so happy that Nob Hill now has 3-4 restaurants that not only compete on a local level, but are just as good or better than meals I've had in LA or San Francisco. It's that good. Found this place on Yelp while in ABQ for a weekend. Aydon was our server and absolutely took incredible care of us. Dustin, the owner, also brought the hospitality! This place is a must, the food is slightly higher priced compared to other restaurants in the area but I'd say it's more upscale American dining. This was an amazing surprise! We were headed to Santa Fe from the airport, but our flight had been delayed enough that we weren't going to make dinner. I scouted Yelp and came up with Gather, a tapas bar. But when we walked in it was just too noisy for our mood, so we went next door to Social House. Lovely atmosphere, and our table was next to a window looking at a fire pit. Drinks were brought promptly by our server, who also gave us suggestions. Husband had a burger with locally raised beef, and every component was perfect. Came with a delicious side salad. I had barley soup topped with pork belly. Can't even describe the taste, nothing like any barley soup I've had, and so amazingly good! Then a salad with arugula, radicchio, citrus segments, Kalamata olives, pine nuts and goat cheese, topped with serrano ham! Talk about balanced flavors! Absolutely fabulous! And a delicious Sicilian red. That should have been enough, but we decided to share a dessert, and the date cake was recommended. Never thought i would like date cake, but this was extraordinary! They all were delicious! I especially loved the sauce with the onion rings and the romaine salad. They were all on the social hour happy hour menu that's on from 4-5:30. We then tried the short ribs and half a chicken as entrees. They were great and we really liked the flavors. In everything the chef prepares he uses loads of herbs and spices. Was very excited to eat here. Skipped lunch. Arrived and couldn't help but think that I was turned away because of my appearance. 2 employees acknowledged us and and said they would "be right with us" and then the host/manager/whoever approached us and said that they had run out of food because of an event at popejoy hall and the lobos game. My hubby and I were looking for something new after a seeing Pride and Prejudice at PopeJoy. 3128 has a cool vibe outside and we thought we'd try it. Cool front door and nice interior. They have the garage style doors they can open to the patio. We had a glass of wine and the onion rings for an appetizer. They were light and crispy. Great spicy dipping sauce. I had the Fennel Salad which had a bunch of tasty things like arugula, grapefruit, pepitas and Parmesan cheese. Fresh and tasty. I would have liked a bit more stuff it in overall but it was good. My hubby had the smoked beef tenderloin and potatoes. This was really nicely done! Meat cooked perfectly. More fabulous onion rings and some super good mash. I stole some steak!! For dessert we had the olive oil cake, which was phenomenal with macerated strawberries. We ate every bite!! And the chocolate cake and mousse. The cake was between a brownie and dense cake. Mousse was smooth and flavorful. I LOVE chocolate and this was a bit too much chocolate for me. I know, this NEVER happens. I would have liked another flavor with the chocolate to balance it. The cool thing is they change their desserts all the time. Our waiter, Kelly, was superb. Friendly, funny and excellent at taking care of us and our needs. We will definitely go back! Had a fantastic dinner here recently before seeing My Fair Lady. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We started with a cocktail and a mocktail. Both were very good. To go with our drinks, we had the Double Dipper, which were two hummus based dips with homemade potato chips and lightly pickled vegetables. It was terrific and we finished it all. Then came our Bone Marrow. Wow! Very decadent and indulgent. Worth every calorie! For entrees, we shared the Mushroom Risotto and added some pork belly. Date Night Disaster. Out to enjoy a nice date night with my husband, no kids and we chose the social house. Been here before years ago and it was mediocre then and remains the same. Our waitress was uneducated on the wine selections and seemed irritated we were asking questions about it. The charcuterie board I could have created out of lunchables even my kids avoid.
