I hadn't heard of this Teddy Roe's so we grabbed a reservation for the late evening. After getting dropped off by a car we tried to find the entrance. I'm not going to give away the trick to it but it was fun. Once inside we got our spot that we held. I didn't see a drink on their menu that I liked that was rum based, so I asked the kind bartender if they could make me one. I only asked that it be alcohol forward, but that I was good if it was a more fruity drink too. They brought me a concoction that was perfect. It's a real nice place. The ornate ceiling and the beautiful bar added to the regal vibes of the place. I would definite recommend Teddy's; it's one of the best speakeasies in town.

I'm not a pork person but I chanced it anyhow. I'll have to say, it was probably the best pork chop I've ever had. They sousvided it and it came with apple butterand it all worked beautifully. White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. I would love more on it next time but we will definitely be ordering that dish again! Yes we had a lot of left over food! But I love sampling a menu and this menu has a lot to offer. Speaking of crispy, we opted for the appetizer brussel sprouts, and they were a bit chewy and on the not so super crispy side. The alcohol that they offer is all local so don't come in asking for some Jack Daniels because they won't have it. I love this because it give us an opportunity to try the local spirits. He made me an old-fashioned that was smoked and it was delicious. We learned a little bit about the area and had a nice chat before we headed back to our room for the night. It was Sunday night, so nothing really was going on however, on other days of the week they have live music and other activities so come check them out if you have a chance.

Cleanliness was below even basic motel standards -- not what I expected given the boutique vibe they're going for. The staff were polite but clearly not trained properly, especially around handling payments. When I checked in, they charged me $12.92 for parking. At checkout, a different staff member realized the lot was empty and tried to refund it, saying I shouldn't have been charged at all -- but instead, they charged me again. Now I've been charged twice, and despite calling twice and leaving messages, no manager has returned my call. It's a shame -- the hotel has so much creative potential, but it's not being managed properly. Zéma Vinyl Lounge: 5 stars. Hotel Zazz: 1 stars. Needs serious attention to staff training, guest communication, and basic cleanliness.
