This was a fun cool way of getting totally in the mix of seeing how their whiskey, vodka, etc are made. Jason was energetic and extremely full of helpful knowledge.. We followed up this tour with delish whiskey and vodka samplings (no bar area available for full drinks). We purchased to take home a Bottle of their "prophet share bourbon" straight whiskey aged 3 years, 123 proof, 61% ABV.. a strong yet very smooth whiskey and a Bottle of their "teller fresh lemon vodka" 70 proof, 35% ABV...a beach party in every glass".. I tipped her good & still didn't get decent service. By the time my friends came I warned them the bartender is going to be rude & weird, & she again was. My friend ordered a flight & she was seemingly pissed. I said I didn't know they had those & the bartender replied "yea I don't tell people because I don't like making them." Girl what???! Her attitude and service was truly terrible. We only had a good time because of the bands. Even other guests we met sitting near the live show said the same thing. Most people didn't bother going back to the bar because she was ruining peoples experience. We came back on 04/25 to see Levi & Jacob perform again, & pretty much experienced the same things from the bartenders. One girl made us feel bad because her coworkers & the manager was being rude to her & she was polite back, but you could see in her face & performance it affected her. To start, I ordered the sangria and the crab & artichoke dip. The sangria was on the sweeter side but not overwhelmingly so, making it easy to enjoy with the appetizer. The dip was delicious, creamy, and packed with flavor, although I honestly couldn't taste much artichoke. It was still a great starter, especially paired with the bread. For dinner, I ordered the red chile fried chicken bites with fries. The chicken was the standout of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and coated in a delicious red chile sauce that had just the right amount of kick. The fries were perfectly cooked and paired well with the ketchup. My friend shared the appetizer with me and ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, which she enjoyed alongside one of the wine tasting flights. The real surprise of the evening came after dinner. Our host handed us a card with a password to access the speakeasy downstairs. If you visit Mission Winery, don't skip this part. The speakeasy had a completely different atmosphere from the restaurant above and quickly became the highlight of the night. The space feels intimate, sophisticated, and thoughtfully designed, with dark wood accents, comfortable seating, and a stylish lounge vibe. My friend and I both ordered espresso martinis, and they were fantastic. The presentation alone was impressive--the unique glassware was chilled and helped keep the cocktail cold longer, allowing us to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. Between the excellent food, wine, creative cocktails, and the hidden speakeasy experience, Mission Winery offers much more than just a typical dinner out. The restaurant was great, but the speakeasy downstairs is what will have me coming back. Recommendation: Start with dinner upstairs, then ask about the speakeasy password and finish your evening downstairs with an espresso martini. It's one of the coolest date night or girls' night experiences I've found in Albuquerque.

The IPA we had was the Elevated IPA which was very refreshing and a nice change of pace as I haven't had an IPA for a hot minute. Flavor characteristics with this beer are hoppy, piney, floral and malty with a smooth body. It definitely had a crisp and refreshing aspect to it as well so I suspect it was the hops or pine elements at play. Very impressed with this beer and it was a great return to try out a beer I haven't had from La Cumbre!
