This was our third time at Happy Accidents and, to my surprise, I had not reviewed this place. This bar is definitely big and screams artsyxotic with its grassy ceiling, hanging monkeys, and mannequin wall. The drink crafters are definitely talented and very attentive, ready to make recommendations. This last time we ordered the espresso matini, the citrus, the bubble gum cosmo, and the pornstar martini. The espresso martini was absolutely smooth with a lot of coffee flavor. The citrus was definitely citrus and refreshing. The pot star martini was very funny and fun to drink, wirh a lot of tropical flavors, but it was not as fun as the glittery cosmo. As a snack, the birria fries were a good compliment, quite delicious with enough birria. Overall, it is no surprise that Happy Accidents is one of the best bars known the US. Creativity and flavor abound on Route 66 for sure. read more

I've been to Happy Accidents three times with my Happy Hour buddies. I'm an amateur cocktail enthusiast and visit cocktails bars whenever traveling. The drinks here are among the best anywhere. Fabulous. Alas, After three tries, I'll never go back. Their rules are rigid and inviolable. Do not deviate and do what you're told. Be sure not to ask any questions, as they are frowned upon and result in staff openly displaying their condescension. Ever see the Seinfeld Soup Nazi? Great soup, no? After our first disappointing but delicious visit, we decided to try it again. On our second visit, after meeting the owner, our group started calling her the Cocktail Nazi. She confirmed the appropriateness of this derisive moniker on our third and final visit. The wonderfulness of the drinks is simply not worth the owner and staff making you feel like a worthless a-hole. read more

Passing through Albuquerque on the way back to Phoenix. Several of our friends from Phoenix recommended that we stop by this craft cocktail bar. The bartenders were super friendly and offered great recommendations on the drinks. They had a wide variety of drinks on the menu. The drinks we had were spectacular. We also had the Dirty Martini Deviled Eggs. Yum! Drinks were delicious. Met the co-owner Blaze and had a nice chat. Fun decor. They have won numerous awards and they are well deserved. Such a fun cocktail bar in the historic Route 66 of ABQ! I had been eyeing Happy Accidents since a few years back and excited to finally get a visit. My husband got the signature Happy Little Accidents- the cocktail with Bob Ross atop. He said it tasted good- sweet. I got a N/A cocktail- London Girl Lost and Nochtilli Refresher. Both were really well made mocktails that didn't just taste of syrup and soda water. Flavors like actually melded really well and you can distinguish the notes! The garnish for my mocktails were fun, too- and the giant rectangular prism of ice. Staff was very kind and friendly from when we entered to sit until we left. Definitely a fun stop for an evening. read more

We always enjoy Happy Accidents! Their cocktail menu is so carefully and expertly curated that they make it hard to choose. One night, recently, 8 of us drank the menu! We ordered just about everything and I fell in love with the Hey Love drink. The sparkling "electric dust" nearly gave me an out of body experience! I NEED that stuff in my life!! I love that they've converted the two back rooms into private karaoke suites, too! We had a party of (shhhh....20) pack into the "big" room meant for 15. It was crammed in there, but oh so fun and our servers were incredibly attentive to our group. We also love the fun Christmas "Magic" popup that happens annually each Holiday season. Happy Accidents has really brought a big city element to humble Albuquerque and we are so grateful for Kate and her crew. read more

We love Happy Accidents! The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful in navigating the drink menu and making recommendations. I also appreciate that the kitchen is open until they close. We got the Caesar salad with steak and added a side of fries. The steak was cooked perfectly. Looking forward to exploring more of the food menu. Definitely a nice place to enjoy good food and drinks. read more

I have to confess that I've been wanting to get here after I saw Drink Masters. Kate Gerwin almost won and I love New Mexico, rooting for her was easy. I'll stop being a fan boy and get to the review. The vibe is great. You don't come here to get wasted, you come to meet friends, both old and new. The music is a laid back groovy. The servers give you air and since they work as a team, you get great service all the time. Yesterday we came and I had a mocktail to start. I don't need booze with drinks like that. The bride had a grasshopper yesterday and today she had frizen dirty chai latte both were excellent and she preferred the grasshopper because it was like a Girl Scout thin mint. Yesterday was a mocktail and then a drink with alcohol. They both were outstanding. Today I did a martini flight and the Cacao, the alpine and the one with sandalwood. They are the perfect size for a flight. The Alpine was like a limoncello and is good. The cacao was also good. It wasn't chocolate overload but a true cacao taste. The big surprise was the sandalwood manhattan. What a smooth and dangerous drink. I'm not a fan of a manhattan but wowzer this could get me in trouble. It's so smooth and not too sweet, which is why I don't like manhattans. This by far my favorite place to have a cocktail. There are places I go to drink but the vibe, the drinks and accepting atmosphere make Happy Accidents an exceptional experience. read more

I had been wanting to come here after seeing a review of it in the paper and my friend sending me an Insta post about it. We came Saturday night around 6. They told us it'd be about a 5-10 minute wait, but were called about 3 minutes later. It's not too loud in there and all the Christmas decor for the Miracle pop up really set the mood. Our server was helpful. We got the birria fries ($14) and it was more than enough for two of us to share. My friend started off with a local beer and I got the biscochito coquito ($16). All the drinks came in festive mugs and other items on the menu ranged from eggnog popcorn, pho frito pie, dirty martini deviled eggs, posole, and an onion jam and cranberry burger. For "dessert", (despite there being a tres leches bread pudding on the menu), we got the Santa Sippers- hazelnut and coconut hot chocolate with coconut whipped cream for $10 each. It was soo good! A festive evening before heading to the River of Lights P.S. you can also reserve karaoke rooms here too 2025 #83 read more

If you're looking for a *Halloween fever dream* that somehow became a cocktail bar, **Happy Accidents** nails the vibe. From the moment you walk in, it's like stepping into a haunted speakeasy -- dim lights, eerie decor, and a creative, spooky energy that makes you want to stay all night just to soak it in. The ambiance is *phenomenal* -- seriously one of the most unique Halloween-themed spots I've seen. The drinks? Gorgeous presentation and wildly creative concepts, but the flavor didn't quite live up to the aesthetics. Think Instagram gold, palate silver. I tried a few different cocktails and while they looked like potions from a witch's lab, they tasted... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The biggest downside, though, was the staff. They seemed annoyed by every interaction, like we were inconveniencing them by being there. A little warmth or friendliness would've gone a long way, especially in such a fun, imaginative setting. read more

Enjoyed a few cocktails with family after a funeral service we all attending in Albuquerque last weekend. Great selection of cocktails and loved their pornstar martini. The last time I had one was in Greece and this one did not disappoint. I wasn't expecting the side car of sparkling white, which was a nice touch. My SIL ordered a martini flight and my brother ordered some beers. We were told that everyone who worked there was a bartender! That was cool. We had to flag down someone a few times to help us as the person we thought was our server seemed to be doing several roles, including bartending so wasn't able to check on us as often. It was a fun vibe and if I'm in ABQ again, I'd enjoy going there for another cocktail! read more

I was meeting up with some friends for a post-holiday holiday get together and we decided to try the pop up at Happy Accidents. I hadn't been before so I'll also have to go back when they're not having a special event. That said, I loved the decorations for the event and the cute mugs the drinks came in were just spectacular. The drink menu both for the event and in general was pretty extensive. The server also had some good recommendations for us. I just couldn't resist the drink in the adorable t-rex mug! The food also looked quite tasty though I had just had lunch so wasn't up for anything at the time. I will go back for more food and drink taste testing. Happy Accidents *never* lets me down! Tonight was all about delicious drinks and good vibes. We ordered the Kagano Old Fashioned and the Goo Goo for Suzu -- and wow, I'm really hoping they keep that one on the menu because it was *so* good! One of my favorite things about Happy Accidents is that their menu is always evolving, but somehow it just keeps getting better. The creativity behind their drinks is unmatched. The staff is incredibly welcoming and takes the time to explain each cocktail and dish, making the whole experience feel special and personal. Stunning! Gorgeous! Delicious drinks! All the things! I saw this bar on an IG post as one of the venues making special items for the balloon fiesta, and it was on my list of places to visit. This is definitely a more eclectic place than others we visited, but I didn't find it pretentious or uncomfortable. To start, I was IN LOVE with the decor: everything was so luxe and elevated, with textured walls, live plants, dark colors and just... chef's kiss. We were seated at a huge table, and we were just in for cocktails. There is food, but we weren't hungry after a huge lunch. We had a gin and tonic, the Swipe Right (their version of a mai tai), an Espresso Martini, and an Up In the Air (a spicy martini with a cotton candy cloud) as well as some PB& J shots. All the cocktails were incredibly balanced and intentional, and we were left with bottles of water to enjoy our conversations and linger as long as we wanted. I could have spent way more time, but it is added as place to visit when we return to Nob Hill. read more

Drinks were good, if not a little too expensive for Albuquerque, New Mexico. We only had a couple of drinks, so will need to return & try other options. Also so far I haven't tried the food. They have an very extensive drink/ specialty cocktail menu online, it was hard to make a first-tine here choice; especially since many of the drinks listed ingredients we'd never heard of before today. Both my companion and I have been around the sun a few trips, but we were still surprised at how many ingredients were completely unknown to each of us. A little research needs to be conducted before I return. Also, I will sit at the bar next time and get some insight from the bartender. I was a little disappointed in the decor/ ambience/ colors choices. I think they were going for a youthful, cleancut & modern look. Mostly I got cheap. Decorating on a strict budget. Tables were mostly constructed of cinder blocks. Fabrics were miss-matched. L believe someone attempted to make the color scheme shades of blue, but somehow the two shocking pink chairs upfront with scratched paint didn't quite fall into the "blue" scheme. Happy Accidents has potential, but it definitely needs attention if it's going to survive in this crowded commercial atmosphere. read more

I was in the mood for a little treat this afternoon and decided a fun cocktail would be just right. I'd been curious about Happy Accidents and it was close so I stopped in to give it a try. Yes, they check IDs - unlike some reviewers I understand that this is a good thing! It was quiet when I went in and the service was friendly and helpful. OMG, this place has it all! Great cocktails, beautiful, sophisticated interior, great staff, we just loved it! The bartender who seated us, Jack, mixed our drinks for us & attended to our food order. That's their philosophy there, total service. Plus, we read employees are shareholders, get paid a living wage & have health insurance. We were so impressed with the whole experience. Jack was great; he took the time to chat with us too, which we enjoyed very much. Since he was mixing, he cared about our drink tastes & explained anything we didn't understand or had questions about, plus had answers on the food. It's amazing to see them move behind the bar, then back out to take care of their guests. Very different from any cocktail bar we've ever been too. The cocktails are so unique and good. But that's not all!!! Their food is delicious too. We weren't starving, so we just shared two small plates, the baked Brie & the patatas, outstanding. Drinks, food and service have been excellent each time we visit. I realized their party limit but they happily sat our party of 7 at one of their larger tables, granted we got there at their opening time of 5pm. We also enjoy sitting at the bar (two of us)! This place is known for their beverages but don't turn away their other menu options. Their food is incredible, from appetizers to their sandwiches or burger. Cheers to the chef and bartenders! I'm a fan. We went here for the second time last night and loved it both times for different reasons. The first time was a pure accident after a less-than-pleasant dinner across the street at Bar Roma (just an off night for them) and we loved the vibe, loved our drinks (Happy Little Accidents for the big guy, Watermelon Frose for me), loved our bartender. Between the first and second time I had the chance to do a little research, and I love the thought process and approach this place is taking. They pay all of their staff a living wage, and they make their own stuff, from the spirits to the flavorings to the unique ice, which is thoughtfully varied and paired to the drink. Our bartender was Oscar last night and he was insanely talented and knew the drinks inside and out. We enjoyed his recommendations and explanations of both why the drinks were created and prepared. We had three rounds and must have tried 8-9 different drinks between the four of us and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. The prices aren't cheap but considering the thoughtfulness and the quality of handmade ingredients, I consider it a better value that the multitudes of typical cocktails you'd find elsewhere. You can't find a Happy Accidents cocktail anywhere else and that's pretty special. I'm probably not doing a great job of explaining why I love this place, but I really do. I hope you give it a try and find meaning and value in why they're so specific. They stand for something pretty great. read more

************************** HOSPITALITY HOSPITALITY HOSPITALITY Wow... a SUPERB experience last night at Happy Accidents in so many ways... I'm watching HA mature right before my eyes; as this establishment evolves into a delicious mixture of creativity and hospitality. Hospitality...not just service... Hospitality is an "art form" extension of service and rarely present in our daily transactional service economy. Our Happy Accidents experience: **************************** Our entire evening experience was enhanced, and will be forever remembered, by our server's ability to extend efficient service into Hospitality. She was present during the conversations She was engaged for the entire service She was knowledgeable and offered informed opinions She was warm, friendly, and welcoming She took ownership of our experience She cared Felt like we were guests in her home, and the entire world around us melted away. And her supporting cast, did a nice job of seamlessly supporting our server / host / guide Bre* This was a special evening for some folks who just finished a long, arduous (grueling) Medical School journey earlier in the day. I'd planned on cooking a special meal but "pivoted" and I'm so glad I did. Because our experience was something I couldn't possibly replicate at home - exceptional cocktails graciously offered by someone who understands the difference between just plain service and "Hospitality." Over the years my wife and I have enjoyed some fabulous dining experiences, at the very best restaurants in the world. Copenhagen, Switzerland, Andalusia, Seoul, it didn't matter "where" ... if it was special, we found our way there. Additionally, I've also been a member of fine dining clubs which (unpretentiously) deliver three things: - Access - Consistent food and drink - Exceptional Hospitality Feels like Happy Accidents is smoothly transitioning into this mature space gracefully. * unsure if it's Bre or Bri ... I'm sorry A memorable special evening for three adults $172 tab cocktails, food and desert ... $55 gratuity reflective of Bre's Hospitality ... HOSPITALITY: two examples worth viewing https://www.ted.com/talks/will_guidara_the_secret_ingredients_of_great_hospitality?language=en https://www.ted.com/talks/anna_dolce_dolce_service_isn_t_same_as_hospitality ** I've read some of the reviews here, and wonder if they're sometimes possibly reflective of the baggage the reviewer dragged into HA upon their arrival. While ABQ may not be the most sophisticated dining / cocktail bar town (thinking Austin, San Antonio, SF, NY, Chicago, Boston) ... I'm appreciative HA seems to push past the negative vibe of the ignorant, and keeps moving forward through continuous improvement. Something which might inspire us all to do in our own lives. . read more

"Yelp is for the bitter" - not true!! Alright. Let's keep things real here. I've read some of the lower star reviews and honestly - get your head out of your peach bottom. To summarize the negative reviews: customer service is awful, large parties of 6+ have issues, people don't like being carded at the door, cocktails are poured from the tap, there are a "lot of rules", the owner is rude, and the cocktails are expensive. First off, the "rules" are guidelines that basically say to be respectful to staff / establishment PLUS give you a heads up to pay with cash for a cheaper deal. How TF is that bad? They are trying to get you to save money. The "rules" lay the cards out on the table. This is open communication vs attempting to mind read. They clearly state what is to be expected. Nothing is ambiguous. Yes, SOME cocktails are poured 100% from the tap while others are only partially poured. This is a smart business model to keep the place flowing. They are a distillery and importer - the booze is theirs! They are creating a system to accommodate the traffic that comes through this place. If you don't want something poured straight from the tap then COMMUNICATE that with the bartender / server. Our bartender was Patrick and he pointed us in the right direction while making us delicious cocktails! I've read hurtful reviews about the owner. I don't know her, but I had the chance to meet her. I'm from NJ and I realized quickly that my honesty and forth coming nature offends people out here in the southwest. The owner is not rude / nasty the way the reviews depict her. You can tell she LOVES what she does. This is her baby. She is PASSIONATE. Don't mistake her passionate nature for being rude. She knows what she's doing. She is sharing her baby with you. Respect her art. Simple. Yes, there is a bit of a wait (we came on a busy Saturday night), but honestly it flows quickly. The cocktails are not overly expensive. They range between $9 to $14 a cocktail. The higher priced ones pack more of a punch and take you on a journey. This isn't a place to come and chug. Sip & savor the experience. For those griping about being carded at the door...seriously? Have you never been out to club/lounge? I found this an efficient way to help the staff serve accordingly instead of worrying about checking IDs at each table. Bring your ID. Show it. Get seated. So fricking simple. We sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait long for our drinks. If you have a large party of 6+ don't expect to sit together. This isn't the place for that. This is a more intimate environment. I 110% recommend this place. Try it out. If you want to avoid the crowds then come earlier when they first open. I found some of the negative reviews unrealistic. My only gripe about this place is they highlight the negative Yelp reviews. I'd emphasize the positive reviews and ignore the saltiness of the entitled, but that's just me. Give this place a shot. It's an intimate environment. We didn't try the food. We ate prior to having drinks here. We specifically came to try the various cocktails. Give it a shot for yourself! read more

Decided to stop in at Happy Accidents because we were across the street having dinner. Thought Happy Accidents was a cute name for a bar. I'm going to be honest when we first drove by I just saw plants and thought this was a plant store lol. We went in around 8ish on a Friday and it was packed. We waited about 15ish minutes for a table for 3, which wasn't bad considering how busy it was. I loved the décor inside, really such a vibe. The cocktails are around $15, which where I'm from is standard for a cocktail bar. I ordered the Hey Love and I've literally never had a cocktail like this in my life. When they brought it to the table I was thinking "uhh how boring, did they pour a White Claw into a waterglass" but the taste made up for the appearance. Creative cocktails with amazingly delicious flavor combinations that sound like they're not going to go well together, but actually do! Fun artistic ambiance with a wall full of taps that look like they should be beer, but are actually the base of a lot of the cocktails to make serving them go quicker and be more consistent. 4.5/5! Figured we'd stop by on our roadtrip as we started watching Drink Masters at our hotels and became slightly obsessed. Was worried with some of the reviews here but this place is awesome. $100 for four drinks and two appetizers. Sure, on the expensive side, but not for two Californians (and one who spent a few years in New York). It sounds pretentious but this place has a very clear vibe they're going for and the drinks, price, ambiance, etc all fit together really well. This is not a dive bar where you get $5 margaritas, but every drink was well worth the price. Speaking of the vibe, the "strict rules" are veryyyyy standard. It's a nicer place - just don't be a mess. If you're a good vibe, you'll get a good vibe back. The servers were very nice, we did go right at opening on a Monday, though, so I'm sure it's a very different story rather than going a weekend night. It took us an hour and thirty to get out of there, but we paced ourselves, so expect to be there for a while. It's an experience and not meant to be rushed; we didn't feel like we waited around long before being asked if we wanted anything else. We had the Hey Love, Ursula, Be Mighty, and Oreo Negroni. My boyfriend loved the Oreo Negroni, and the Hey Love was a great introduction for Gin drinks for me. The Ursula is sweet, but I'm obsessed with everything that comes in it. The food was alright, but it's a cocktail bar and not a restaurant, so we weren't extremely worried (the Fried Mushrooms didn't really taste like anything but enjoyed the jalapeno crema, and the steak in the Steak Frites wasn't warm). One silly downside is the bathrooms, they really freaked me out LOL. Otherwise, awesome time at a really nice place. read more
